  1. Man. I’m not a huge fan of the salt remnants all over the place in side but it sure is fun. I have the first one. Think the last and greatest uses less salt. Laser sight sounds good also. Does that work well? Hitting up amazon now.

Never even crossed my mind to question whether the dog can swim. Learn something new every day.

No shit . Me neither. Is it really even a dog though?

  3. I haven’t read this thread but just finished season 1. Great show. The scenes between NoHo and Fuches when they thought Barry was dead was top notch. I’m going to miss fuches and the top Chechen boss. Good stuff!

Our family has two cats. One is a panzy-assed fluff ball. My wife and daughter dote on that one. The other is a battle-scarred bad ass whom I have seen stare down an angry coyote before. My son and I prefer her.

There's a sociology paper in there somewhere.

Cats like this are bad ass. They can also be assholes. Well all cats are assholes and I generally can’t stand the fuckers. They have no place being domesticated. But still cats that can beat a 120 lbs dog into submission or stare down and taunt coyotes are bad ass.

or maybe you have the brightness turned up to ridiculous levels on your TV.  I had my set calibrated and the brightness was set to 66.  Pushing it up to 100 helped but made everything else look like shit.

Maybe it's your TV, maybe it's the room, maybe it's your settings, maybe it's you....  but the groundswell of bitching is indicative of the veracity of the complaint.

Mine looked fine. Lg oled 4k. Wasn’t turned up to 100%. all other scenes looked perfect. I had another tv. Vizo.  All night scenes looked dark and pixelated. and could hardly see. I bet it’s the tv. Shaggy 1% maybe? 🤔

Off topic here but are they still a thing? I moved to Portland 5 years ago and have since forgot about them. Don’t miss those retards either. Hum. Listen to the horn on internet always though.

That sucks, but looks like they’ve added a few channels. But everyone else went to $50, so I guess they felt empowered. They also claim they’ll soon add Amazon devices, so that’s good.

Eugene, the streaming services offer you the ability to season pass record a show, or find an event in the future like a game and set it to record, just like your DVR. YouTubeTV allows 6 devices at once and unlimited DVR storage.

Give it a trial run, DTV Now as well.

Edited to add you can buy a Roku for $30 that plugs into an HDMI port that turns your stupid TV into a smart one. This has been discussed here and in the cord cutters thread in Help.

Perfect. I’ll look for that thread. Thanks

  10. What do you use to record a show or game? For instance fubo tv has plenty of games but I want to watch it tomorrow. We have Apple TV in anticipation of dropping directv in a month or so.

    Directv $220

    hulu $12

    netflix $25 I think

    amazon prime ?$8 month?

plus ESPN go and cbs and fox sports access  ~$30

That’s what we are paying and what we watch mostly this last month is the streaming  haven’t turned the directv on in a week.

So I’ll add hbo go $15 and fubo or sling $55 and drop directvas long as I can figure out a convenient recrording way.  there’s got to be a seamless way to do it in order to save just $150 a month.

And next question is how do my other TVs in the House watch any of this stuff. None of them are smart TVs.

Im not seeing a huge advantage yet for me for the price difference. I haven’t had the customer service issues that some of y’all have had either though.

Edit. Looks like with fubo I could drop fox sports go and maybe even cbs sports go so there is another $20-25 I think. So now $175 savings but not the convenient ease of turning on directv and all my shit is recorded right there and don’t have to surf. We rarely watch live tv unless it’s sports. And sometimes that is even recorded for a bit to skip commercials and halftimes.

    I once heard of facebook

So it's cool to act uninformed? Because a 50 billion dollar company is what I was referencing. Let me guess....never heard of wal-mart?

Facebook the company is much much more then a fucking stupid app where retards argue and people look even stupider then they do in real life.

Moose out front should have told ya

  12. I had three episodes to catch up on. I’ve been skimming them the last season or so.

Turned the 1st one on Sunday to skim. Got about 10 minutes in. Deleted it and the others and removed it from the record list.

Im done. I’ll keep tabs on what happens here... or maybe not.

Basic ESPN and I think ESPN2 is included on most of the streaming platforms. LHN is on the more expensive version of DirecTV Now, but not on the $50 package and not on YouTubeTV. I don’t think HGTV is on the DirecTV packages, but I think it was on YouTubeTV.

My work around for getting LHN will be to use the ESPN app, which is available on most smart TVs. You have to sign in with a cable provider, and it should work with the streaming services. Before regular DirecTV added LHN, I used my mom’s cable account, and still have that as a backup if needed.

    Not sure about Golf Channel.

I would check out a free week of YouTubeTV to see for yourself how it works. My ability to retrieve all network shows had been screwed up for years with my old Genie, so it’s nice to be able to go back and watch a show if we missed it.

edited to add HGTV also has an app on smart TVs, so if you have a cable login, you can see all their content.

You mentioned cable login a couple times. So basically you still need a mainstream (ie cable or satellite) service to get all this hit we want?

Inwi check out yttv thought seems interesting

What Beau said, though the free trial may be just a week for some. Try the streaming first. I tried both YouTubeTV and DTVNow and YouTubeTV is (for me) far superior. $40 a month, unlimited DVR, enough channels (including your locals) and up to 6 devices/TVs at once. Only bad thing is Google’s (parent company)  pissing match with both AT&T and Amazon. YTTV isn’t offered on Amazon devices and no HBO offered thru the service. You can buy HBO Go independently for about $15 a month. Use Roku and it works perfectly.

DirectTV Now has just raised its prices from $40 to $50 a month, but HBO and one of the other premiums is included. But only two devices at once ($5 for another), shitty DVR and interface is less intuitive. And when I sampled it, my local ABC and WB weren’t showing up in the lineup. I never tried Hulu or Sling

Thanks to some Roku trials, we’ve been off DirecTV for more than two months and still haven’t paid a cent. Latest trial ends tomorrow, and we actually can do a free DirecTV Now for another month, but it sucked so much, we’ll probably just start paying for YouTubeTV.

Monthly cost will go from $145 for full DTV to $40 plus tax.

This is the first list of ways to drop directv ive seen that seems plausible to me. Serious questions thought...

whats happens with LHN, sports in general like espn and football games? Golf channel? stupid car shows were they overhaul cars, hgtv type shit for the wife?

Looks that way huh? Is OU for real or just eating a cream puff schedule? Loss to cal State Fullerton  is expected and Dallas baptist isn’t a terrible loss  but they seem to be taking care of business
