Mrs. Macanudo lived there her freshman year (91-92) and her roommate was never home so I spent A LOT of time there.  The amount of jizz I sprayed in that room would make Peter North proud.

And yes, I hit a ceiling tile with it once.

    Spoiler

liiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaar.  there were no ceiling tiles inside the rooms.

    j/k

Yep. If your daughter was there between 92-95 there is a good chance she licked my sack.

  2. I lost count of the times we were threatened with eviction.  the best was when gucci_suit launched a bottle of boone's from our balcony across w. 24th street and into the parking lot of croix and it didn't break.  then for good measure he threw another straight down that exploded at the feet of one of the security guards.  I've never seen cops so mad since the two apd officers that showed up to toss our place for evidence of boone's, fortunately two had been our limit from our trip to grande food mart earlier and we got to live another day.

Death & Company's cocktail book alleges that Caña Brava aged white rum is the closest thing you'll going to find to Cuban HC in the US. I haven't tried HC, but I'm on board if the comparison is correct.

ever since I tried a mojito at babe's in playa del carmen they don't taste right to me unless it is made with havana club añejo 3 años.

matthew mccaaundehehghey said in an interview on the telly that he doesn’t stink and that his mom and his wife tell him he doesn’t stink and so it’s totally cool that he doesn’t wear deodorant.  but I’ve heard that people in the movie business say he smells like a goat.

he and everyone else that walks around smelling like sweaty asshole are clearly propped up by enablers.  pronghorn.

a group of friends and I met him at a texas game back when the longhorn foundation would send all the premium seat holders at halftime to the tent atop moncrief-neuhaus.  very cool dude indeed, but everything about his horrible bo is true.

We played against a couple of Adam Dunn coached teams. That’s a guy you want on your side in a fight.

  6. two big thumbs down on the heb kosher salt.  I'm loyal to morton's, but last three attempts I've made to buy some my heb is suspiciously out of stock.  when I first brought the heb branded kosher salt home as a sustitute I did a double take when filling my salt pig, because it looked too "pretty."  I'm used to seeing my kosher salt opaque, feeling coarse, and having rectangularish grains; here I was seeing a few sparkling clear specks, some was sticking to the rim of my salt pig, and there were grains definitely cubic.  shit, maybe exotic salt got into my box from a not properly cleaned packing line at the processing plant.  then, I tried salting some simmering water and saw some clear grains falling to the bottom of my pot.  since I'm lazy I threw the lid back on and waited for the water to fully boil.  I added morton's to my next instacart, but I dropped it completely when the shopper tried to substitute it with heb brand when she was filling my order.  this weekend I watched the same shit happen to simmering water, I decided to throw the rest of it out.  fuck that.  morton's makes the water cloudy for a second after it hits the water then it clears back up, but no grains ever sink intact to the bottom of a simmering pot.  went to my heb determined to come home with the good stuff, but they are still cleared out of morton's kosher salt.  is there a run on salt that I'm not aware of? now I'm stuck having to use table salt harvested out of picnic paks from a leftover emergency stash from hurricane ike.

tl;dr:  heb kosher salt sucks.  it is inferior in every way, do not buy. heb I am disappoint.

Holy shit! Are you a family of five?

there could be 50 items on the menu, but I pretty much only order what I know, and not all at the same time.

  8. I love pho and I could live off the stuff.  this is why I only stick to pretty much pho tai when I order.  I know I'm probably missing out on some other amazing shit, which is why I need to be more adventurous.  for reference this is pretty much my order rotation when I eat vietnamese:

      shrimp or pork spring rolls

      vietnamese eggrolls

pho tai (I often switch it up with tendons, meatballs, brisket, etc.)

bo kho with a side of noodles

      bahn mi

      durian smoothie

I'm .specially epicurious about vermicelli entrees and drinks.

Has anyone tried the new BB's Italian kitchen in the old Carmellos location?

came here to post about it.  it is legit.  the chicken fettuccine alfredo is the best I've had and their side called italian grits is a nice twist on polenta.

agree with the op, Cuban cigars do live up to the hype.  not many things do.  Cubans are the absolute best cigars made.   I don't agree with you about Kentucky bourbon, but do agree with you about this.  get them whenever you travel overseas.  I had a scuba diving friend that brought them back every time he went to the Caribbean, so was well stocked in them for a decade or more.  I lost that connection but always have a couple in my humidor.

you'd be a fool if you blindly follow this advise.  always check before you buy: for authenticity and for storage conditions.  two weeks ago I visited a la casa del habano in an eastern european capital and the humidor smelled like a gym sock.  I quickly made a face and headed out, I guess the nice girl thought I was having sticker shock, she showed me a big of box of discounted cosmetic seconds cigars; all had swollen and cracked feet.

Brian O’Neil’s in the village had really good food. Brunch on Sunday’s during football season was a go to, the free Jell-O shots when the Texans scored was cool too.

I was walking in the village with a friend that knows the owner well one day they were doing maintenance on the place.  as my friend was chatting with him I watched the workers pull up boards to clean out all the dead rats accumulated under the deck.
