  1. most of the guys at the top of the OPS leader board have larger gaps. more accurate to surmise that .829 may be highest OPS for anyone with a .160 BA in the middle of June.
  2. they have enough equipment to brew 4,000 bbl a year but have gone from a high of 635 in 2017 to 440 last year. Appears to me that they massively overspent on equipment and underspent on branding.
  3. Minor edit: Last day at .500 was May 13, 2006 (3518-3518).
  4. April 18, 2006, Astros reach .500 for first time in franchise history (since their inaugural season) at 3507-3507. May 4, 2006, the astros reached 4 games over .500 for franchise history at 3516-3512, the high-water mark for franchise history. May 14, 2006, the Astros began the day at 3523-3523 all-time, but would lose and fall below .500. They've been below .500 since.
  5. not enough walks, imo
  6. just wanted it to stop. painful indeed.
  7. What are the best craft beer bars around Austin these days? If I was considering making a one-off delivery trip to town, which places should I reach out to? Could probably only fit kegs for 5-6 joints in our modest van. I’ve got a couple of buddies that are investors in Great Heights who live in Austin, plus I just think it would be cool to put some of our stuff out there and I could expense a quick trip.
  8. i don’t know if you’re going to be putting this headset on again
  9. a fine choice
  10. what a slap in the face to jason castro
  11. Astros 2021: Fuck and Destroy
  12. i don’t disagree, but that’s a huge “if” for a dude who’s never thrown more than 128 MLB innings in a season. handing out $18M x 3 right now seems like a huge overpay. He knows the risks, too.
  13. oily adjuncts are tough to brew with. kills beer foam and head retention.
  14. it was bad. way too long. i finally turned it off when doug benson was touring the store. i just couldn’t anymore.
  15. bike rack is being relocated.
  16. Watch out for a new Wakefield-facing deck at Great Heights Brewing this week...
  17. pretty sure neither D&T nor JGB have been part of Treadsack for quite some time.
  18. Fremont founder is a Texas grad.
  19. completely meaningless until the fines and missed paychecks are reality.
  20. Signed Steven Souza to a minor league deal. So we got that going for us...
  21. i was pretty disappointed when they sold out. Sucks was probably my most purchased beer in like 2013-2014.
  22. just for a little more perspective, we’re at about $0.50 per can in packaging costs (can+lid+label+paktech holder+cardboard case flat). that doesn’t include the cost of canning machine, CO2, spillage, labor, designer, or any of the actual beer costs. so there is an enormous difference in selling a $12-16 four pack of IPA to-go ($3-4 per beer) compared to $6-7 pints in glassware we can use hundreds of times. our business built on margins of draft beer isn’t really feasible on margins of canned beer (at a small scale).
