According to SI Nobis averaged 20 tackles per game. In the rain in Austin in 1965, I saw Nobis run Donny Anderson out of bounds for losses on four straight plays--alternating sidelines. Anderson was a 3 time AA and drafted by the Packers to replace Hornung when he was a junior.
wow!....I can hear that Tech OC now......"ok...run out of bounds 3 plays in a row.....never will expect us to give it to him again...."

Hell, any of those hits could have simply been Tommy Nobis in practice. The rest of the team hated to practice because Nobis wouldnt take a play off.....even in practice.

Did you forget what conference we play in?
Four yards and a cloud of dust works great until you get called for holding, or have to come back from 2 scores down.
I dunno.....in the early days of the wishbone we were averaging over 500 yds a game and scoring over 50 points quite often....

I love video games and board games but that's about the last thing I would want to do as a top recruit on a visit to a school.
what else is there for them to do there?......Wht they wont tell the recruits is that those activities are only available when the 'station is lit!....usually it is boring as hell there.

Joepa and PSU have been attempting to re write history since before the 1970 Cotton Bowl when they have tried and tried to explain why they ducked playing Texas for the Natty and instead tried to win the Natty in the press by whining around that they and not Texas should have been the champs. Fuck that little sniveling weasel Paterno. He was always a liar.

I dont know how tall Murray is, but I do know that Mickey Mantle was 5-11".....then back to the Astros....Jimmy Wynn was waaayyy under 6 ft.
Shortest player ever was Eddie Gaedel....3' 7""...his strike zone was 1 3/4 inches

I heard that Chippy is gonna try wearing a neck tie to see if it will stop the foreskin from closing over his head.

Favorite football player, period. Number two , Dick Butkus. Punishers.
Butkis???....Nobis was more of a punisher than Butkis. Some of those NFL guys said they would rather play Butkis every week than have to face Nobis once a season. Had Nobis played in Chicago and Butkis in Atlanta, you would have never heard of Butkis.

wow!....no wonder chip was once thought of as a crack journalist!.......ok Chip, you sleuthed out the cause of the accident, but I am still a bit unclear how better braking technique helps avoid being slammed from behind....
