ND fans are special and extrordinarily consistent....Anytime you are scheduled to play you they come on your forumsand say they want to talk football. Then they tell you all about their team. If you say anything about your team they ignore it. Over and over they give you all the reasons they will win. .....Then when you whip their ass they disappear like smoke, never to be heard from again....

Makes sense. The one piece of advice I found older people commonly impart on younger folk is to never get old. Admittedly, I didn't understand it back then.
getting old has one benefit.....everytime I go to the Doctor I get the same answer for EVERYTHING I ask. No matter what I got the reason is always the same.....birthdays...Prick!

One of my favorite memories was yelling Poooooor Aggies! in BCS after the 2003 game. Going to College Station and humiliating the Aggies is something every Longhorn should experience.
a) That is completely untrue, and being in the SEC will allow us to schedule tougher OOC, because SEC treatment means good losses don't hurt as bad
good losses??? GOOD LOSSES?????....The fuck is this?...Good loss and bad pussy!....no such damned thing!

QB pros and cons
Let's breakdown the quarterbacks to this point in camp.
Casey Thompson
*He's approached this camp like he's the starter from Day 1. Coaches/players notice the confidence.
*He checks down a lot. To the point the wide receivers feel they aren’t being utilized.
*Thompson doesn't take many shots, but will hit the occasional deep ball, as he did yesterday on a beautiful go route to Troy Omeire where the coverage was tight.
*He knows the playbook well, and has two years of college experience over Card.
*There’s a sense he’s a game-manager who doesn’t necessarily trust the current receivers.
*Has thrown some interceptions, usually when challenging the middle of the field. Brenden Schooler got him yesterday but that instance might be miscommunication with the receiver, which may tie into him having trust issues with that position group.
*Needs to get faster through his progressions and read defenses better.
Hudson Card
*He has complete confidence in his abilities, but approached fall camp like it’s a competition. He doesn’t carry himself with the same bravado of Casey Thompson or Sam Ehlinger.
*He takes shots down the field, and has earned the trust of the receivers.
*He’s the better talent, better arm, and every bit the athlete. He throws on the run and extends plays outside of the pocket.
*He knows the playbook pretty well.
*There’s a sense he’s a gunslinger, or the opposite of a game manager, but still protects the ball pretty well.
*He’s quicker through his progressions and gets the ball out faster than Thompson, but like Thompson needs to improve his ability to read defenses. If any of this is true it seems already decided to me. Card trusts and has the trust of the receivers....Card has the most arm talent and quicker release....Card does the progressions quicker....what am I missing? If Casey doesnt trust his receivers by now I say we are fucked....

The reason I was always pissed at Mack and the reason I was always at the highest extent of pisstivity with Herman is not putting his foot on the neck of the vanquished. St DKR would do his best to lead by 28 at the half. Then he would send in the second string, and those hungry bastards would pile on more.....by the 4th quarter he sent in the 3rd string ...against exhausted opponents and it really got ugly! ( well....I thought it was beautiful....eye of the beholder and all....)
This did 2 things....it kept the starters mostly injury free.....and it gave real game experience to the back ups. Dont you think when Colt went down playing for the Natty that it would have been nice for Gilbert to come in with actual experience?.....no!...Mack liked that "deer in the headlights look from his #2 QB....but the big advantage is that everyone knew they would get to play.
God dammit!....Now I all pissed off again just thinking about it...

As DKR said, "If there's gonna be a dance, you want to be invited and you dance with the girl that brought you."
damn....that sure aint the quote I remember.....I thought DKR just said that to a stupid writer going in to the Cotton Bowl when he was asked if they were going tp pass since ND would load up against the run....he simply said ..."we are gonna dance with the one that brung us"
Then again I am old...

so I asked....What is the difference between "high football IQ "....and "good instincts"?...WTF? those are 2 9.95 type reviews that are like asking the old 8-Ball....answers like....what do you think?....chances are good...WTF?

God Dammit....I am dying for any morsel of news about camp and what I get is a discussion about the LOGO color!

fuck it.....as long as the godzillotron works and we kick ULaLa's ass, I am good to go....
-
I would feel better if I knew the difference between "having a tremendous football IQ"....and "having great instincts"
and it seems like I remember Mack talking about the first Fall practice after VY left, when he told the team they had to work on figuring out who was going to be QB....the players just told him...."coach, that is already decided....it is Colt"....this was based on the player workouts
