  1. How is Tiger not considered an underdog? I’m aware of his recent top couple of finishes, but have to think a Masters win would shock.

Because Tiger is tied with Spieth as the betting favorite as of right now. That isn’t everything but it’s something.

Let's see if we can get people to guess in a surly Masters contest:

    A) Winner & score
    B) Best performance by a prior Masters winner & by a non-prior Masters winner
    C) Worst performance by a prior winner (I'm leaning to a "W" - Willet, Woosnam, or Wier)
    D) Best performance by - DJ, Jordan, JT, Rory, Phil or Bubba
    E) Cut line

    Justin Thomas -12

    Bubba, Fowler

    Woosnam

    JT

    cut: E

    Is Tiger a betting man?

He's a well known huge gambler (in Vegas). Stays at the very private Mansion (at MGM) and plays some high stakes blackjack.

As for the usual Tuesday golf match for a few dollars, supposedly Phil beat Tiger out of $500 in a practice round in 1998 and rubbed it in and they haven't really played each other for money since then? Who knows. Phil loves the Tuesday practice round match for money. As he told me, he likes to play for enough to make it interesting but not too much that it hurts.

  4. I was one of those guests of Pom to the Masters and it was awesome. Especially staying at the house so close to the course. Good time had by all. Highly recommend the experience should you get the invite.

Headed out to Vegas in 3 weeks and staying at the Venetian for a conference.  Hitting the tables in the evenings.  How are games at the Venetian?  Thinking about 1/3 or 2/5 games.

Layout is decent. Dealers okay. I got pissed when they took away the free coffee they used to put out on the side of the room and lowered the comp amount. Will have plenty of games going, just monitor the BravoPoker app.

The 2/5 can play fairly big at times, allows buy in up to $1,000 (similar at Aria). If you want a more manageable 2/5 game then try Bellagio where buy in is capped at $500.

  6. Anyone been to The Mercury lately at Preston/Forrest? (Formerly Mercury Grill?) I hadn’t been in awhile. They took the private dining room and flipped it into a sushi bar with additional seating. Can order off of the sushi menu and the regular menu in that room. Food was great as I remembered from prior visits. I had sushi appetizer and then Lamb Shank. Friends had steaks and sushi. Will definitely go back.

  7. Guidelive.com:

Urban Taco in Uptown is closing and Velvet Taco will take its place.

Quickly, too: Urban Taco closes Saturday, March 31 after dinner. The building will stay shuttered through the summer and is expected to reopen as Velvet Taco in September, says a spokesman.

  8. Best score: 73 at Crooked Cat at Orange County National in Orlando (former Home of pga Q school finals). Missed a short putt on 18 for the 72.

Best round: hard to choose, played all over the world but the two that stand out are Old Head in Ireland and Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand. Both are unreal scenery, great golf courses, and I hit them at nice weather for walking with a caddie.

  9. Nicely done. The two guys conducting the interview teed things up well and you managed to jam in as many Shaggy stories as possible. Funny to listen on the radio about when some of us were in Hornfans chat and you created Shaggy.

They would be wise to have you on again during football season. Next time please work in Derka or else he’s gonna be extra unhappy.
