  1. Poor Bama.  Getting picked on by big bad Texas.

They are at the anger stage at this point.  I wonder how long it will take to get to acceptance.  Deboer must have the charisma of a wet blanket to not be able to retain some of his players given his coaching resume.

How long until they turn on him?  Right now they are mad at the players leaving and the schools that view their roster as open season.  Where was that outrage when they picked Burton from Georgia or Gibbs from gtech?

This is the danger of being an uneducated, shitty redneck state and having a generational coach.  You fail to understand your place in the world.  With deboer they likely maintain respectability but the days of being angry if they don't make the cfp are over.. for their sake hopefully they don't get back the franchione days but as a fanbase that has suffered through 13 years in the desert, I think it's reasonable to collectively tell them to fuck off.

For those bama fans browsing who struggle with words, assume Texas is Logan Roy.

Can someone clarify a portal rule? It was my understanding that if a player enters the portal, the school can decline them coming back. Is that true? Obviously that wouldn’t be the situation with Bond. Alabama would definitely want him back, but just thinking about some other players on the roster.

That is correct.  Basically, you lose the claim to your scholarship when you enter the portal.  Moot point for bama but a surprise for some of those players who overvalue their importance and why you see people end up at South Alabama.

How awesome would it be to somehow watch him destroy a second program we compete with?  Plus all the Aggy tears if he has any modicum of success while they are paying for his historic buyout.

I'm just crossing my fingers that someone decides that Tommy Rees, James Franklin, or Marcus Freeman is the move...No one will adequately replace Saban but there are plenty that would speed up Bama's demise and slide into mediocrity.   I'm really surprised that Kiffin isn't their next call after the top three.  He might not succeed but he'd certainly be entertaining and higher upside than any of the other candidates thrown out.

We had Tim Nunez for at least four years.

yup, 4 years coaching entire line, another year coaching just guards and centers (lol, if that isn't an indictment not sure what is).  Also, felt like about 10 years so definitely continuity.

When I looked it up, found out he wrote a book on offensive line coaching.  I think it was titled "Offensive Line Fundamentals - How to Ignore them and turn 5 stars into 2 stars"

  5. If I believed in conspiracy theories, I would even believe that Texas would float interest in certain commits that they don't want just to make some rubes negotiate against themselves and thereby decrease the war chest for the players you actually covet.

It only works if you're dealing with simpletons, maybe a competitor that spent an ungodly sum of money to fire a coach and buy players because of what their rival was doing ...

We haven't really been interested in Bussey or McKinley but suddenly we're interested.  LOL.  Then again, for the Aggy on here, I hear Sark covets Bussey as a replacement for Worthy replacement and thinks McKinley can replace Sweat.   I really hope we can get them and heard that a couple BMDs have said that money won't prevent us from getting these guys.  Same with Evans, who they think could be like Suh.  At least, that's what I was told...

My only regret is we never got to see Sweat and Murphy absolutely destroy Bryce Foster & Co

Every single fucking time I dont think the aggy destruction can get funnier and then they hired a dude who worked at Dunder Mifflin. Holy fuck this is hilarious

So he went from working at a paper company into a job that he wasn't qualified for and then proceeded to fail spectacularly at for multiple stops?

Damn it, all the office jokes already made but seriously... Is this the assistant to the regional manager?

They tell you that in your darkest hour there will always be some light.  How did we get so lucky to both be in the playoffs and watch an Aggy version of the Strong regime happen before our eyes?

Even Strong was a passable recruiter with a longer track record of success.  And as bad as his staff was, they are way, way better than this

Admittedly I haven't followed Houston super closely this year, but everyone seems over the moon on Golden but stats wise, he wasn't the first or second choice at Houston.  Was he injured part of the year?  Is this a potential take?

Injured much of the year.  He's a take solely on the strength of this return skills.  Probably slots in as the #3 receiver depending on what else we do in the portal and/or unlikely Mitchell returning.  He's also been suggested as a replacement for Robinson for gadget plays but I see Blue in that role personally.  Incidently had his best game against Texas this year so it's not like he can't do damage at wr.  Given how selective they've been so far guessing he's who the staff wants.
