  1. I love that about 1 in 4 is grudgingly forced to admit that we might be good while the remainder (3 out of 4 for any Aggy "reading") stick to the narrative that Aggy would have done the same, despite them having the same record in the big 12 as they do in the SEC.

Newsflash... While the recruiting ratings are higher in the SEC, the SEC, just like the big 12, has a bunch of mediocre teams.  Georgia is elite. Bama is bama.  The fact that Missouri, with less talent on paper than Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Aggy, and others is going fine is testament to it.

Guess what Aggy?  Next year when we're in the SECsecsec... We will still be better than you.  You will still be mediocre.  Enjoy being Auburn to our Alabama

    Feels damn good

It has been a long time since I've felt this good about the trajectory of the program.  My daughter was in the womb during the 2010 Rose Bowl.  They've never seen Texas do anything but tantalize and then disappoint.

Thank you Sark, thank you to all of those that did the hard work to build the infrastructure for NIL (please put in your Texas one contribution), thank you to all my fellow alumni who have suffered with me and thanks to this team, which while with it's flaws, has a lot of dog to them.  Those that needed to got in the motherfucka.  Those that are left will be big 12 champs for the last time.

How in the world do they think Texas was lucky in the Iowa State game?

Several penalties resulted in about 17 points taken off the board for Texas, the Worthy fumble, and then a couple fumbles for Iowa State that were somehow recovered by them.

The only thing that kept this from being a 20 point loss for Iowa State was nothing going our way in the luck department.

    Stop right there

I had a long reply but the next response is perfect.  Cognitive dissonance or as we call it, being an Aggy.  End of the day, the fucking team that just fired their coach for a buyout higher than the next 5 combined without a clear plan and will be going to the Sunflower seed bowl or whatever the fuck they actually get to this year after missing a bowl last year should shut the fuck up.

I kind of wonder if knowing he was "THE MAN" tonight made a bit of a difference.  When you are not the man and get less chances you play tentatively worrying about fucking up and losing whatever those limited chances are.  Tonight he knew that wasn't happening.

I think running lots of counter helped him a lot.  I don't believe we ran as much inside zone as we normally do.   He definitely seemed more decisive.  I do think knowing there's no safety net (Brooks) to bail you out helps.  He gutted out a tough performance.  Wait until he adds another 5-8 lbs of muscle this off-season and gets closer to the 225-230 he'll eventually carry.

  5. Uhh, guys.... We pushed their shit in.  I don't care who you are.  Defense dominated the line of scrimmage.   A few slants and a few missed tackles but generally nothing easy other than the 4th and 1.  Carried the team until the offense got untracked.   If you can't be happy with that defensive performance not sure what to say.

  6. Huge get!  From what I understand, he's much, much more likely to end up at Texas than the others... Please correct me if wrong.

There's a significant family connection so I don't think we get leveraged like Holland. . But who can really know...

Any ACC head coach is fair game since they can't afford to keep up the arms race. aggy would be wise to take a swing at Dabo. He's about as aggy as you can find in a head coach.

Dabo is the guy I see them going for.  Sitting NC coach, fake religious, coming off a surprising bad year.

    Aggy will go after briles

Only place tone deaf enough to do it.

I see their real list being Briles, KK and Dabo.  They have to have a candidate in mind and each of these would appeal to different fragile parts of the Aggy ego.

I'll miss Jimbo with his hillbilly room temperature IQ and his ability to grift.  He's a true American and Aggy hero.

Or…. And this may be crazy… we keep our DC, continue the upward trajectory of our defense (which is already pretty good). We are actually getting better each year, and developing players. We haven’t seen that trend since Muschamp was here.

This.  We're not losing our coordinator to fucking usc.... Nor should we want to.  The list of guys that are possibly better than pk and have an interest in being a career defensive coordinator are few and far between.  Consistency matters.  As much as it pains me to be down on a Texas ex, the biggest issues are on the backend of the defense.  I think we need a change there, whether it's one or both.  Joseph has never stuck around for long and really hasn't been an elite coach outside of recruiting... Which has certainly been very good.  Gideon was a muschamp guy and while I like him, doesn't appear to fit what pk needs.  The staff was thrown together to fit muschamp.  Let him pick his guys and see where things go.

I think you're the first to get my username in years.  Good to see another reefkeeper.  I'm in Hawaii about to dive amongst the coral.

Back on topic, I think the number of teams that finish undefeated is almost always less than 2.  A 1 loss Texas will always get in.  We are the Jones's.  BOMC, biggest brand in football, whatever.

Also, fuck OU, Aggy, LSU, Notre Dame and OU again.  We won, they lost  Such a great weekend!

  10. Honestly, cfp works itself out if we win out.  And finishing with 5 more wins would be a huge step forward to finish this out.

Never cheer for ou.  Maybe if they play Aggy but better to cheer for a meteor.  Fuck those guys.

Right now, we are winning ugly, which means we likely drop one of the last three.  Hopefully we'll get healthy and get back up early season bama form.  Catalon and Ewers getting back healthy will help a great deal.

  11. Let the tears flow.  Flying in to watch ou sucks.  Sooner tears and corn dogs.  Breakfast of champions.

I predict it'll be close for a half, the trailer trash gets excited, and then Texas opens up a 21 point lead in the 3rd and keeps scoring.

  12. Just remember that the average person is stupid.  Half are therefore dumber than average.  Aggy admits primarily from that dumber half.  Therefore the gradient of Aggy posters includes those that are just above the level of what many consider animal intelligence.

It's the only thing to explain why someone on a football forum doesn't understand basic tenets of NIL by 2023.   Nothing else computes.

  13. Hahaha, fuck those clowns.  If the road to the big 12 championship goes through Lubbock, it's just a fucking pit stop on the way to the Rose Bowl.  Shitty team full of blowhards with a fucking high school clown coach.  Only reason they had any relevance was a few idiot oil money alumni.  Enjoy your shitty football team, shitty basketball team and hot but syphilitic women

1-3 with a win against Tarleton state.

  14. Both Alabama and Texas were a little hungover after last week's game.  Lots of emotion, hype, etc.  Plus Saban got cute with his trash backup qbs. Reality is that about 1/3 of your games aren't going to be your standard.  Tbh, a little adversity and a tough game against a team you're favored against isn't the worst thing.  Georgia still hasn't played well this year and we're down more against South Carolina.  FSU should have lost to a shitty BC team.  Would you rather be Tennessee, who got run over by an offensive line led by Bama castoff Damien George and a Wisconsin reject graham mertz?  I'm pretty fucking stoked to be 3-0 at this time.

The key is to make enough plays against bad teams to win when you aren't playing your best and to make sure you match up your a game with the times you need it most.  This team is young but I like the trajectory.  If they can't play consistently they'll drop a couple games but I'm optimistic this game, as much as Alabama, will be a great learning experience.   And we truly haven't played a dogshit team yet.  I expect we'll take care of business the next two weeks and roll into the cotton bowl 5-0.  Looking forward to watching this team beat the shit out of Baylor, who is more likely to get an a game

I was just kind of thinking that at the gym today.  We are entering the SEC at a good time

Aggy is a cesspool with an underperforming HC and a huge albatross of a buyout for getting rid of him and wasting away more talent than the mid-2010s Texas Longhorns
Brian Kelly is meh at LSU
Nick Saban might be losing his edge in coaching and talent at Alabama
    Georgia is Georgia
OU under BV looks like our bitch for the foreseeable future
Napier is hilariously terrible and will be fired soon enough
Tennessee can play offense-ish and Kiffin is pretty good at Ole Miss
    Miss St/Arkansas/South Carolina/Vanderbilt/Mizzou/Auburn/Kentucky - meh to mid

We might enter an SEC in 2024 where our main competition on the field is Ole Miss, Tennessee and Georgia.  Versus the SEC a few years ago where it was Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, aggy, Auburn and an actually competent OU team under Lincoln Riley.

I agree with a lot but I think I wouldn't discount Bama being good to great for a few more years.  Their long term outlook isn't great due to NIL and demographics but I don't see them having the Texas Mack dropoff with Saban there.

I also think Brian Kelly, despite being a murderous asshole, can coach and his ND teams often had WTF games but still a decent overall performance.  And LSU will still get decent talent, though long term same as Bama with NIL.

I bet it'll be Georgia, LSU, Bama and Tennessee in 2024, with Georgia being the only team with a significant talent advantage, though I think Kirby Smart being a mouthbreathing troglodyte helps even the advantage.

And this also supposes that this Alabama game signals a consistent, reproducible shift in our long term fortunes (which I think it does.
