Maybe they’re a few miles to the East? But they’ll need “coaching up” which we don’t do - HaHa aggy!

    Hook’em!!!

Damaged goods.  Lots of toxic guys over there.  I bet McKinley will be back in play.  Either way, watching even Broughton split a double team gives me hope that we'll be fine.  Remember, pk built his defenses with mainly 3 and low 4* players at uw.  If he's able to sit back and scheme and not stress about recruiting, I could see 10-15 more years of elite defenses.

Cancel one OnlyFans sub and put it to TOF.  We will be unstoppable.

How the fuck do you expect me to pay for Texas one if I shut down my of account?!?

Just kidding, thanks everyone who worked tirelessly to even the playing field.  Already contribute but I bet we see a lot more people throw in some bucks.

  3. We went there and dominated them on the defensive line.  Made mistakes, didn't have breaks go our way and still won.  This isn't a perfect game underdog win.  This is the better team winning.  Now, gotta celebrate and then not stub our toe.  I don't know that we'll play a more talented defense this year

The schizophrenic murderer WR guy was basically a flip from UT to ATM. Sad story and all, not downplaying mental health issues and such, but I can’t remember the guy’s name so I got descriptive.

Thomas Johnson if I recall correctly.  Sad case

On3 updated their rankings.  Struggling to think of a more negative rankings update ... pretty nuts.

    COMMITS

Santana Wilson:  Dropped (from 90 to 95)

Jerrick Gibson: Dropped (from 43 to 117)

Aeryn Hampton: Dropped (from 145 to 159)

Daniel Cruz: Dropped (from 150 to 171)

Alex January: Dropped (from 217 to 231)

Freddie Dubose: Dropped (170 to 235)

    TARGETS

Colin Simmons: Rose (from 5 to 4)

Micah Hudson: Rose (from 9 to 😎

Dominic McKinley: Dropped (from 14 to 17)

Wardell Mack: Rose (from 28 to 19)

Terry Bussey: Dropped (from 16 to 37)

Brandon Baker: Dropped (from 30 to 40)

Kobe Black: Dropped (from 51 to 68)

Corian Gibson: Dropped (from 67 to 71)

Danny Okoye: Dropped (from 63 to 76)

Blake Ivy: Dropped (from 78 to 91)

Ryan Wingo:  97 (not sure where he was before)

Selman Bridges: Dropped (from 69 to 199)

D'Antre Robinson: Rose (from unranked to 272)

Zino Umeozulu: Dropped (from 191 to out of the 300)

Hunter Moddon (decommit): Dropped (from 121 to 278)

Also, in the new Texas Top 25:

    - 0 current Texas commits

    - 15 committed to other schools

    - Of the 10 remaining, we really don't recruit 4 (Durham, Tatum, Poe, Williams)

    - So we are recruiting a TOTAL of 6 guys (including Hudson and Bussey ... )

We know we are in the running for several elite recruits, many from outside Texas (Simmons, Black, Wingo, McKinley, Baker, Carter?, Mack, etc.) ... but we better land these guys.

    UPDATED TOP-25

no offense but hard to lend credence to the idea that a bunch of guys going to duke, vandy, tech and arkansas are top 25 players in texas.  I mean, it's cute to be contrarian but wtf?  kobe black as 16 in state when he's a consensus 5 star?

  6. That's maturity a lot of people twice his age lack.  Smart, grounded kid and I really hope he has a fantastic last year and then catches on for a couple of years in the NFL, but whether football works out or not, he's going to be successful at life.

Holy shit.  I’ve got data that says he took over a team mid season and took them to the elite 8, beating one guy who many have identified as the candidate to replace him.   Derka

Clearly my sarcasm wasn't evident.  Pay the man.  Other than someone like bd, it's hard to think of a "realistic" candidate that would prompt a pause

  8. This team genuinely seems to like each other and straddle that line between finding joy in each win while keeping their eyes on the goal and not getting rattled in games.  It's likely a combination of the veteran makeup and the personalities of the players, Terry being a little less tightly wound than Beard, and the crucible that is the big 12.  I felt like we had a stretch at the end of the season where every game was versus a top 20 team, and the only one that wasn't beat us (tech).

It's hard as fans not to love this team.  You could see it on the court today.  That was a team effort on defense and once they figured out Disu was on fire, they kept just feeding him the ball.

End of the game, gonna savor this S16 and feel pretty good about our next game and hopefully 3 more.

  9. Bennett's a home run and he falls into that sweet spot of elite in every aspect except recruiting.  Not sure how much he'd use the portal.  Still, to a certain extent Texas, through its inherent additions and a robust nil program (thank you to those that have built this), recruits at a decent baseline irrespective of the coach.  I don't know that this isn't a situation where an elite x's and O's guy doesn't do better than an elite recruiter (calipari).  College basketball also lends itself to experience trumping pure talent.

Beard initially approached through the portal to build quickly and given his track record, would have likely focused on the portal for a large portion.  Bennett might not, though we would likely see some use with greater resources.  However, I bet he'd be elite in taking talent and developing and there is a lot of talent in Texas.

    Go get him CDC!

Ole Stumblin Rumlin to be co-OC for Mike Locksley at Maryland

Co-OC or just drinking buddy?  I want to see a sitcom staring Rumlin and Locksley, coaches by day, drinking buddies by night.  What shenanigans will they be up to next?  Maybe Herman could be a recurring guest?  I can even see an episode where his girlfriend tries to push him out of a plane while it's in the air.

I know it's crazy but it just might work....

Tommy Rees hired by Bama as OC.

I don't get this one at all.  I've never been impressed by him.

I for one love the move.  Think about all those offenses at Notre Dame where Rees was able to overcome the talent differential between air force, Boston college and other powerhouses.  Now with bama's talent differential I expect he'll regularly score in the 20s.

I was really worried bama was going to erase the Golding/BOB mistakes by being aggressive and getting two dynamic coordinators.  It's good to see that on one side he's not.  Maybe he can go grab Diaz and complete the overhaul

I appreciate that he's making it out like 10k words is some gargantuan accomplishment. That's a normal book chapter length.

10K words is a tweet from ian boyd.  I bet Roach's behind the scenes account will be 25% recruiting, 25% worship of texas high school coaches and 50% discussion of the where to get the best chicken fried steak....aka a normal page on surly.
