I’d love to see the numbers from Westmoreland, Washington, or Lancaster counties before I get too excited about those numbers. I expect she’ll do fine on the eastern 1/3 of the state. I’m more concerned about the western half.

But the Hatch Chile Act only excludes pussy-ass midwesterners and yankees from engaging in the deliciousness that is green chile grits, green chile pork stew, green chile cheeseburgers. Can't handle spice? you don't even DESERVE to be a swing state.
One of my favorite times of the year is when the Mexican grocery up here wheels out the big chile roaster.
But this green chile pork stew? I need that in my life.

I think the right wing media is already at battle stations becuase whoever has this shit was shopping it for a payday, and Trump declined.
Then it can’t sink him. If it could and he was offered to pay to make it go away, Elon would have bought it.

Seems unlikely that she would need the 6 from Nevada to push her over 270. I guess a weird combination of swing state results could in theory do it. Just the thought of it being that close just raised my blood pressure.
Nevada comes into play if Trump wins Arizona. If Trump wins Arizona, assuming Harris wins WI & MI, Harris cant win with GA or NC alone. They only get her to 267. In the scenario her winning NV & Trump winning AZ, she can win with any one of PA, NC, or GA.

Sorry for the Texags thoughts but they harp on the republicans own “wall” that is 30% of the returned ballots being R means trump is safe. So not sure how accurate their estimate would be but is it possible for both “walls” to be hit? I’ll see if I can find the tweets but forgot where it was over on that cesspool.
From what I saw earlier over there they are using 2020 as a point of reference where mail in voting massively skewed towards the dems as the basis for their calculations. But they were blind to 2022 being much less skewed and a more likely representation of this election.

Remember, they did media studies that the more negative she went on Trump, the more it hurt her numbers. Voters responded way better to her positive ads.
I saw a study a few years ago that showed right leaning voters are more motivated by fear based messaging and prefer more authoritarian leaders while left leaning voters are more motivated by optimistic or hopeful messaging and prefer more democratic leaders.
Im pretty sure it was a global study but it was a while ago and might have just been a US study.

The part where he is over 46% is the most insane bit of this all.
It’s just inflation and nothing else. Things cost more when Biden was president and less when Trump was president. There is no thought beyond the surface level of that metric. No ability to comprehend why even if they had the desire to understand what happened.
maybe sprinkle in a little misogyny.

How much money did we spend/add to the money supply with the stimulus checks? As soon as they announced that, my 'Inflation' alarm bells started ringing in my head.
About 800 billion of the 5 trillion that was spent for covid relief was the stimulus checks.

My precinct will cast roughly 650 votes this year, including mail in and early voting. Voting mid morning in 2022 I had maybe a 10 minute wait in line. I don’t know how long the line will be in the evening, but by then I’ll have a bottle open and the news on.

I had a coworker try to convince me to vote for Trump yesterday. This was a smart, rational man that has apparently had his brain completely infected by right wing media. I’ve talked to him regularly for years. This is the first time he’s ever brought up politics.
He’s full on maga. Was at the rally in Butler when Trump was shot at.
I stood there dumbfounded at the level of bad faith arguments. There isn’t a single thing better under Biden than Trump. Inflation was entirely caused by Biden’s spending (CARES act and CRRSA act were completely necessary and had no impact on inflation, it was entirely caused by the American Rescue plan and the inflation reduction act). The entire world was at peace under Trump and is now on the brink of WWIII and it’s Biden’s fault. We shouldn’t be giving anything to Ukraine, equipment or money, because that war is unwinnable and it’s not our battle to fight. Russias economy is booming, doing better than ours because of this war. Illegal immigration was completely under control under Trump and the border is wide open streaming criminals in and Biden is doing nothing to stop it. Violent crime was way down under Trump and it’s skyrocketing under Biden. Did you see they just had to revise the statistics upward for 2022. There’s nothing wrong with the religious right pushing religion into public schools. “A little more religion in schools wouldn’t be a bad thing instead of trans indoctrination and critical race theory for 6 year olds.” Almost everyone wanted roe v wade overturned. Even Ruth Bader Ginsburg thought Roe v Wade should be overturned. Even on the most absurd Trump lies like he’s studied wind better than anyone. “Maybe he has. How do you know he hasn’t seriously studied wind.” What about Trump claiming he is going to cut electricity prices in half and double our electricity supply IN 6 MONTHS OF BEING IN OFFICE? “I’m sure there are several things he could do to pull that off.” Like what? “…mumble mumble cut regulations mumble mumble” and onto the next load of nonsense.
And all of those perceived failings of Biden are directly transferable to Harris.
This is a gainfully employed, intelligent, navy veteran who has completely swallowed trumps whole mushroom.

I know a handful of people in Allegheny county that haven’t received their mail in ballots yet to add to that firewall.
I personally will be voting in person on Election Day so I can look the MAGAs in the eye when I tell their orange god to get fucked.

Simple math -- that's 54.7% to 45.3%. Would be nice if that held in most swing states.
23 minutes ago, BamaATL said:There are a couple of worrying (albeit minor trends)
1. African American votes are 178k thus far, only approximately 29% of the vote.
2. Fulton County (Atlanta proper) has only 72k out of 891k from 2020 votes cast thus far - this lags the state numbers, albeit on a minor level. Dekalb County, also a Democratic stronghold is lagging the state number as well.
3. By age - 291k of cast votes are from those 65 and older. (Not fretting this, the older typically vote early)
Exit polling from 2020 had women to men 56% to 44% and African American at 29%.
If the numbers are matching 2020 with Atlanta lagging, as long as Atlanta shows up eventually that’s a pretty good sign.

But still, when for centuries, you've had a 100 yard head start in the race, and now you only have a 50 yard head start....and because you had the 100 yard head start you never bothered to learn to run that fast because you didn't need to, the head start gave you all the advantage you needed....well, loss of a huge advantage into a smaller advantage can feel like a DISadvantage.
Young white men still have every chance to succeed -- they even have built in advantages. But they have to actually fucking work for it now because there's competition. We gotta figure out how to get them off their asses to compete.
You have to take into account that some of them just aren’t smart enough to compete. The poor dumb white guy has limited opportunities, just like he did 20 years ago just like he did 40 years ago.
But now that the mine is closed down or the factory is gone, anyone that was smart enough or ambitious enough to get the fuck out and do something is gone. So the only ones that are left are the morons.
And when you’re sitting around poor and dumb, I’m sure it’s a real seductive message to be hearing that it’s not your fault. It’s their fault. You’re a red blooded white skinned natural born American in the country that built the world. Greatness is your birthright if only those people over there would stop fucking it up. The blacks and the browns and the Jews and the Asians and the Indians and the Muslims and the gays and the trans are all being handed what should be yours. And it’s the fucking democrats that are giving away your birthright.

The flip side of this is his interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, where he got pretty debate-lordy and somewhat combative. The conversation centered mostly around the COVID vaccines. He can get this way if the topic at hand is one of his few true hot buttons, but I don't think there's much risk of that with anything he and Harris would talk about.
The only topics I’ve ever seen him get combative over are vaccines and weed.
They’d be in agreement over legalization.
There’s not much for them to have conflict over because the facts are what they are so I expect it will go along the lines of him presenting a right wing conspiracy and then her debunking it and him going “woah”. And repeat. Hopefully.

Just looking at this top 25, there really aren't that many somebodies you can play.
The checked teams would be credible wins, but the unchecked teams could drop out of or to the bottom of the top 25 if they lose one game. It's a strange year. Only a few teams, including us, have been consistently good. I include Ole Miss because I think a win over them means more than their ranking indicates.
Why does ole miss mean more than their ranking? Because they beat furman, mid tenn st, wake, GA southern, and SC? Because they played an overrated LSU team close?

It will never make sense to me that a single veteran or active member of our military will vote for this literal piece of human garbage when he has nothing but awful things to say about the military. This coward shirked duty in Vietnam by faking an injury while people who weren’t privileged had to go over there. Many of us here have dads and other relatives who went over when their number came up, but not this shrinking violet. It’s just incredible the cognitive dissonance on display.
And in 20 years almost none of them will admit they voted for him.
History is going to be brutal on Trump and no one will admit they bought the con.

Trick play for Penn St gets 7 on first drive of this half.
Specifically, TE snaps the ball to the backup QB with QB1 split out wide in a bunch formation. QB2 toss out to QB1 who throws it into the end zone to the TE that snapped that ball.
TE has played TE, C, RB, QB, FB, WR out wide, and slot WR

The SEC championship is going to be for who the real UT is. Hint: it's Texas
Also, if you're a power 2 conference member and you schedule UMass that should just be a loss. Doesn't matter what the actual score is. Doesn't matter that you blow them out 77 to nothing. That should be a fucking loss.
lol they play 3 sec teams this season. Their only win will be central Connecticut state.

I understand that those counties were representative of the statewide margin. The eastern half of PA shifted massively blue last election. The western half shifted slightly red other than Pittsburgh and Erie.
Westmoreland, Washington, and Butler county go from Pittsburgh suburbs on one side to hillbilly maga on the other side. I’m very curious to see how those counties swing.
