Yes, there will be some sort of government bailout.  But it's going to follow the Trump rule.

See, it will not be done in order to provide any greater benefit to the economy, stabilize the markets, etc.

Instead, those who will simply be handed dollars from the treasury will be people and entities that are sufficiently intertwined with/ingratiated with Trump.  Have you kissed his ass enough?  Or will he see a pretty direct financial benefit from your bailout?  If so, happy days for you!

Otherwise, you can collapse and get fucked.  Not that the admin will do the calculus of whether that will have positive or negative impacts on the economy as a whole; that simply doesn't figure into the calculus at all.  Not even a little bit.

The economy will drop dead on the side of the road.  The admin will pick and cut any bit of nutrition it can from the carcass and distribute the bits to its favored people.  And that's it.  That's the entire plan.  They'll get theirs.  The rest of y'all?  Good luck, suckers.

Take the donor list for Trump’s ballroom, sort it by the amount donated. That’s the order in which bailouts will be given.

I was in a similar spot, got down to 14.2, best in my life. Slid back to 17.5 with a couple really good rounds rolling off, but feeling really good about how it's going. But same, when I was 14.2 mid-year was hoping single digits in 2026, but dropping 8 shots feels unlikely but then again, I will turn my cap over 4 times, so no reason why not!

Fuck it, let’s both do it in 2026.

  3. You guys are killing me with the amount of golf you play. My season only runs from April - October, and I still don’t come close. Just didn’t have enough time.

19 rounds, plus a few team events, on 16 courses.

Hardest course by rating was Mid Pines @ 72.3 / 138. I think pinehurst #2 played harder, but I played like shit at both so it was hard to tell.

The real disappointment of the season was going from 14.1 to 16.5. I finished last season strong and was planning to try to get from 14 to <12 to try to make a run at single digits next season. Not enough time to practice and pinehurst beating me up for a week sent me in the wrong direction. Went into that week as 14.1, left at 17.8.

Going from 16.5 to 9 in one season seems unlikely.

Was that the game where the ball stuck in the mud after a punt like it was a lawn dart?

    Yep.

I shoveled today and it was not fun.

Both of my grandfathers were friends of The Chief and some of my uncles went to North Catholic with Dan Rooney and when the Steelers moved from Pitt Stadium to Three Rivers my Uncle Bill was allowed to pick his seats, very early, and he got three rows of 13 in a great location. They were awesome seats. I was deemed worthy of a ticket when I was 7. Over the years I was granted six in my name and I held on to them for a long time, even into Heinz Field but, after a while I was just tired of it all. Way back in the 70s Mom Nitter a blanket for our entire row, 13 seats, cuz it was all family. Those were fun days.

I honestly don’t miss going to the games. And I only go nowadays if I am working the games and they give me a parking pass. Otherwise, I am happy on the nice couch.

Dolphins look like a better team right now. Their defense is tackling very well.

Does anyone else hear Buck saying, “Tung-Oh-vai-lo-ah”

He landed awkwardly on that leg, looks like it could be a knee.

That’s cool. I knew you had connections, didn’t know they went straight to the top.

My dad and his friends had 16 tickets split 8/8 in the first two rows of the second level center of the end zone at three rivers. And with that stadium stacked like it was that was a great spot to watch the game from. It was a great family vibe growing up going to those games knowing everyone around us. We kept them into Heinz field but once the older guys started dying off and my dad got into his late 70s he started to lose interest and at the time it was hard for me to get to games very often.

The only games I really miss are the playoff games, but I guess the Steelers don’t really do those anymore.

Ha. I was at that game. Western PA football playoffs had 4 games on Friday, Pitt played on Saturday. The field was destroyed.

They didn’t have time before Monday night to fully replace the sod so they just played the new layer on top.

A long rain delay right before the game and the field was just 8 inches of mud.

Our floors are finished in oil and ya, I 100% recommend it over a poly finish. Scratches are so much less apparent when they just blend into the actual wood vs into a plastic coating. Only downside is you have to use special soap that has oils in it when you mop and that shit ain't cheap.

$126 for that N3 stuff? And I thought Rubio Monocoat was expensive....

It’s a ceramic protective top coat, so you’d put it over the Rubio.

I’ve never used it, so I’m not really qualified to speak to its viability, but like a ceramic topcoat for a car, there are use cases for it and others where it’s not worth the price. Ceramic on a car is going to protect the clear coat on a car that is exposed to the elements but generally well taken care of. It’s not going to do anything when someone opens their door into it in a parking lot.

A coffee table made out of an impossible to replace slab of redwood burl that someone might set a drink down on without a coaster? Probably worth it. A white oak or maple dining room table in a house with young kids that is going to get abused relentlessly, I’d probably have a hard time justifying the price.

    1. All soda is for children, who don't give a shit about their teeth or caloric intake. Any man of advancing years who still drinks soda is not taking his health seriously.

Well, for starters, soda is just unflavored sparkling water with a little sodium.

Now if you’re talking about drinking pop, I could follow your line of thinking.

Give It To Me Want GIF

50+ putters and not one is a mid slant?

I was on the fence about it because I’ve only used one putter for the last 20+ years, a Cleveland made 8802, so why try anything different now.

I paid $250 for the pair, so since the one vapor is $225 retail, I told myself I was getting the Scotty for $25, and how could I turn that down.
