I miss the days when I could flip over to a game and immediately know who was playing, even when the score was not being shown.
Get off my lawn?

UCF shouldn’t allowed anywhere near the Playoff. There is a good chance they won’t play a single ranked opponent during their regular season.
If they want to be considered then play some ranked schools in their non-conference...Not quite as easy as calling "Ranked-Teams-R-Us" before the season and scheduling a game. And good luck getting a name school (one highly likely to be ranked when the time comes) to add them to their non-conference schedule at this point.

Traffic is a bitch. Waze works. When in doubt talk basketball, NBA especially. Kenny Rogers Roasters is not a joke there so don't joke about it. Wallybee is their McDonalds. Know that Duterte is from the South and most Northerners know little and care little about the south. Rich Chinese and Japanese are the ones targeted for kidnapping so don't ask locals about crime or worry about that. Eat the seafood.
Minor correction: it's Jollibee (not Wallybee). Great if you feel like a meal of a fast food hamburger and spaghetti ...

I'll never understand the idolatry involving coaches in this country.
Sadly, I've seen this already in my children's lives. And we're talking about high school in this case, and sports far from what football is in Texas. People that are supposed to provide examples and lead young people, who are in reality some of the worst examples possible.

A Whiskey Rebellion is nice when it's warm:
1 ounce of Pimm’s #1, 1 ounce of rye, ¾ ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice and ¾ ounce of simple syrup. Shake with ice, pour into glass over ice.
I was right.

There was one outside of Camp Lejeune, NC and growing up we’d pick up pizza from there once a month. I remember it as pretty damn good but haven’t had Little Caesar’s in almost two decades.
We still pick a couple of Hot 'n Ready pies on the rare occasion when we have no desire to cook anything, and we are passing by on the way home. Kids like it, it's cheap, and it is passably good enough. I enjoy the pepperoni most.
No, not the best thing you'll ever eat, but far better than a lot of stuff I've paid more for.

Renting a cabin in Colorado. The tiny local liquor store had a poor selection. Ended up buying Tincup Whiskey. Not bad. Light and easy drinking.
Go on ...

You ordered steak at the shitty version of TGI Friday’s?
Unfortunately, yes. Travel, late, next to hotel, and one of the few things on the menu that sort of went along with my diet plan at that time. Not because I thought I'd get a good steak.

I ate at a Ruby Tuesday's in Tempe last year. Easily among the top 10 worst meals of my life. I had a sirloin (doing the slow carb diet thing), and they probably used 8 oz of butter for the 8 oz steak. Everything else was likewise drenched in butter. You might think that would be a good thing. It was not.

Too trendy right now? Don't care. Easily one of the top cocktails for me.
Equal parts Tanqueray, Campari, and Noilly Prat sweet vermouth is my go-to. Sometimes a dash of orange bitters, courtesy of a friend's recommendation.

Campari doesn't last long on my shelf. A negroni is fantastic. Easily a top 5 cocktail.
Campari, for the purpose of making Negronis, is one of my "have one open and one underneath as spare" bottles.

My older sister had ZERO interest in any sport before she moved to Omaha many, many years ago. She didn't know the difference between a football and a softball but she became "Lil Ms. Husker" within a couple of years of the move. An exchange I had were her when the Nubs were still in the Big 12 went like this:
LMH: "You guys should come over for a football game when ISU is playing Nebraska"
Me: "Hmmm, well I'll tell you what. We'll come over if you guys agree to come over when Nebraska plays in Hilton."
LMH: "Uhhh, we don't watch Nebraska basketball"
ME: "Yeah, why's that?"
LMH: "Well, they never win"
In short, LMH was a fan of winning which caused this exchange 3-4 years ago:
LMH: "We aren't getting season tickets anymore"
Me: "What? Why?"
LMH: "Oh, everything at Nebraska now is about the money. Donations...ticket prices...on and on"
Me: "Yeah, that losing sucks doesn't it?"
Sounds like "fans" of many different teams and sports, not just Nebraska football.

I make them as described above. Tanq and Noilly Prat, shaken hard with olive garnish. If a bartender ever asks me if I want vodka or gin in my martini I immediately lose respect for them.
This.

They always seem to taste better when Mr. Underhill picks up the tab.
I typically only get two portions.
