I can't remember the last time I had a really good pancake, but a great pancake is hard to beat (and find).
Agreed, and I am always confused as to why it seems so hard to make a really good pancake. It's really pretty simple, but the vast majority of places F it up. And too many of them resort to stuffing it full of a bunch of crazy fillings and topping with frosting or whatever to make it over-the-top sweet.
A great pancake (blueberry being my particular favorite) may be the only thing that I would have a tough time NOT picking for my favorite, but considering that I already put the PB English Muffin up there, I'm not back-tracking. It's the chocolate cake of breakfast foods to me.

All of it.

Food? Mayhap.

Pan-fried crappie and some runny eggs.
I will say that almost anything with runny eggs (or non-over cooked scrambled eggs) is a strong entry.
Eggs are the best.

Meat of your choice, eggs scrambled right (ie not over done to hell like so many fuckers do) cheese of your choice that compliments eggs and meat, all neatly tucked into a fresh from the bakery high quality croissant....heated up.
Was with you right up to “croissant”. The cockroach of the bread family.

Because when I think of breakfast, the first thing that comes to mind is peanut butter.
I know, right?

I submit to you: English muffin with peanut butter.

My wife's contribution.
Biscuits suck and the only thing worse than biscuits alone are biscuits with gravy.
Obligatory “she hasn’t tried my gravy”?

If the dudes in his thread took all this brain power focused on travel points and put it on cancer, the world would be cancer free by now.
Expensive travel IS a cancer, so mission accomplished?

Yeah, you’re trying too hard like the other idiot(s).
Sorry, thought "unpopular" was part of the thread title. My mistake, I guess.

Well...yeah. But I’d assume that if you were EP you wouldn’t be asking this question.
Agreed. However, I'll admit that when I first became EP I didn't know all of the things it got me. But point taken.

Just watched Mindhunter for the second time. This show is damn close to my favorite series Netflix has put out. The Kemper interviews are almost “True Detective level” badass for me. Hopefully Season 2 will push it over the line.
Went to high school with Holt McCallany (Tench in the show). Made my history teacher cry in front of a full classroom, then when teach left he took over for the rest of the period. FDR was the subject of his "lecture" (complete with Thujone-esque chalkboard illustrations).

People hating on wings are trying too hard.
Wings are a snack. Not a meal. That is all. And not a particularly good snack.

This is key. If you booked a flight from DFW-LHR on AA, it would cost $150.00 to get your miles back for the first passenger.
Unless you are Exec Platinum, in which case the charge is waived. Other airlines may have similar.

Yes but there is usually a charge associated with redepositing your points.
Depending on airline, status level may determine if there's a fee.

Naw, those walls would have withstood the dragon fire if they were asbestos, and not the regular stone that crumbles and explodes when fire is applied.
Yeah, they should have used the stones that Jon was able to duck behind constantly when the undead dragon was breathing fire at him. They were indestructible.

LOL at rapid-fire, hyper-accurate, VW-bus-at-400mph-energy-packing-when-they-hit crossbows. Ridiculous, ruined the whole episode for me. This is the secret weapon that defeats dragons routinely? Dragons kind of suck if so.

I know it's just what everyone says about them, but burr grinders give a much more consistent grind. I prefer the coffee or espresso that I get using my burr grinder (Rancilio Rocky) vastly over the blade grinders I had before.

Just an update. Ended up booking Premium Economy, leaving on a Thursday, return on a Tuesday. Then called up Exec Plat desk, and surprisingly, got confirmed upgrade on the return trip from Madrid->DFW (still economy DFW->AUS, but exit row, etc., so fine, and I often get upgraded on that leg anyway just due to status.) I was really surprised, because NOTHING I could find (AA website OR ExpertFlyer.com) showed any availability, and I check every day. Waitlisted on AUS->LHR, hopefully it comes through, the rep seemed to indicate it wasn't hopeless.
So, although at this point I'm still in Premium Economy going east, I did get an upgrade to business coming back west, which is the longest flight of the whole trip (11 hrs).
Bonus: when I called and she confirmed the availability, I got her to change my original reservation from Premium Economy to regular-old economy, then apply the upgrade (still gets you to business.) Saved a quick $300 just for asking, which I thought was cool.
On the last question, I had enough miles to book 2 RT in business, but only with MileSaaver fares, which limit your options. All of them involved BA flights and terrible schedules, and additionally they would have cost me something like $1300 in fees to book my "free" flights. That, the crappy times, and having to use all those miles, I just couldn't see my way to doing that.
Final update: ended up getting upgraded both AUS->JFK and JFK->LHR. We were #2 and #3 on both upgrade lists. First flight I put my wife in first and took coach, then got pulled up when the #1 (Concierge Key) didn’t board even after checking in. Then got put into business as soon as we got to the gate in DFW.
Already upgraded for Madrid flight to DFW, so all-in-all, best I could have hoped for I think (DFW->AUS) would be icing, but a thin layer in comparison.

It’s fine. She knows she’s not allowed to touch anything on the shelf. But she always seems to pick out my favorite drinkers that are open. It’s like a special sixth sense.
My wife doesn't like whiskey of any type. But even she would know that Eagle Rare would be a great choice, should she be otherwise. I guess I've talked about it enough, had her pick some up for me often enough, etc. (She also knows it's relatively inexpensive for how good it is, so she doesn't begrudge me the purchase, which is nice.)

Related question: I have two good friends who call me crazy for this, but I LOVE runny-yolk eggs atop buttered pancakes, with (not too much) syrup over it all.
Crazy, or crazy-like-a-great-food-loving fox?
If you've never tried it, try it.
