The fact that the Superbowl insists on using roman numerals in its name.

Motherfucker I aint trying to translate numbers when you tell me michael jackson performed at SB XXVII.

In fact, drop the number, just use the calendar year. Who the fuck knows when 27 was?

It's easy. The Superbowl Number is always the same as my age. So just use that.

I'm this guy when my wife brings home the peanut butter pretzels...

    Man, love those things.

Funny(ish) story. We used to keep the containers and re-use them for dog food and dog treats.

Buddy came to the house for happy hour, walked by, instinctively reached in and grabbed a handful of dog treats. Wasn't as happy as usual.

  3. I started this thread with the "English Muffin with Peanut Butter" entry. If that was my #1, then my #1a is the simple "Sunny Side Eggs with Sourdough Toast and Butter".

Guess I'm just a simple breakfast guy.

But, I would crush almost all of the things I've seen discussed so far. I love breakfast!

Sure, fair point.  But also don’t start meetings at 8:00 am or the start of the day before I’ve had time to come in and check my email and get settled in.

Corollary: Don't have someone schedule a 7am meeting on a Monday morning, be the "boss" of all 20 people in the meeting, and then roll in 15 minutes late. Every time the poor meeting organizer says "well, let's get started", then when Mr. boss rolls in everything starts over anyway. I find myself raging at the poor person who was ordered to schedule the thing just as much as the person who let everyone waste 15 minutes at the crack of dawn on Monday.

    Oven?

    Fuck that.

Air fryer. And it’s not even close.

Not sure about air fryer, since have never tried.

But absent that, reheating in a skillet (mentioned earlier) is an absolute game-changer. If it’s a bit thicker, a lid or foil will help heat all the toppings through, while the crust gets a GLORIOUS crisp on it.

In MANY cases, I will do this with takeout pizza as soon as I get it home. Because it makes it that much better.

(Holy F, just realized I have a black stone griddle. Could slap two or three WHOLE pies on there and give everyone the glory of the crispy crust.)

Not crazy about the price but I think I’m about to get one of these.

The wife got me one of these for Christmas. VERY nice flask, but I didn't know it cost that much... Guess I'll be extra careful with it. Taking it on the hog hunt last weekend might have not have been the best decision (it did make it back unscathed).

    Flag it for unsportsmanlike

Simply make ANY start of a slide (even if you don't COMPLETE it) down at the point. Easy.

Judgement calls will need to be made, like for any of a variety of other penalties. But egregious ones like this would be easily identified.

The bigger question is how the hell does that dude still have eligibility? Seems like he's been there forever.

Was there 4 years (started as true freshman). Extra COVID year, like all players.

I know it's just what everyone says about them, but burr grinders give a much more consistent grind. I prefer the coffee or espresso that I get using my burr grinder (Rancilio Rocky) vastly over the blade grinders I had before.

I also have the Rocky, and it's amazing. The thing is built like a tank. Have had it for 20+ years, and still works exactly like new.

Quoted my own post, apparently I need coffee.

  10. I flew out of ABIA about two weeks ago and the precheck line at the middle security checkpoint was the longest I'd ever seen it, and it wasn't even close. Snaking down the railing about halfway to the north checkpoint.

So, went to the north checkpoint and while it was still crowded, nowhere near as bad.

That’s the worst ceiling fan that I’ve ever seen. It was hideous when it was brand new.

I'd generally agree, but it went amazingly well with the decor of the room when it was a playroom for 4 kids all under 8.

    It will be replaced.

Impressive you located all those weights given how hard to find they were last year

Had some of the smaller plates (2.5, 5, 10, 25) already. Rest was done over time, and augmented by borrowing some plates and a bar from our office gym (which was closed down for most of the time). Now have acquired enough not to need them.

Substitute a white '65 Ford F100 like the one pictured below and my first truck experience was similar. Straight six, three-on-the-tree manual, floor dimmer, pull choke and "Twin I-Beam" front suspension. I hated the thing. Looking back, I don't know wtf was wrong with me.

My first vehicle was this 1964 F-100, 223 straight six, 3 on the tree, dual exhausts and glass packs. Really loud, but REALLY slow. Modified to run on propane (dad worked for natural gas company that had a program to modify vehicles. Also he didn't like the gas tank literally in the cab behind the seat.) Traded that for a 1972 Bronco.

Still wish I had both of them.

  14. I was attending a football game several years ago at Michigan. Let's just say there was "extensive" tailgating beforehand, and I may have partaken.

At some point, after an exciting play where my team (not Michigan) scored to take the lead, everyone was high-fiving and yelling in my section, and a person I don't know in the row behind me talks excitedly to me for 20-30 seconds or so. I couldn't understand almost anything he was saying, but the gist was that he was excited and happy.

My good-natured comment to him: "Whoa, I guess you've had plenty to drink, huh?"

I turn around and sit down. Wife of my college roommate looks at me with utter horror on her face and says "turn around and look at the person behind you, but be discrete."

I do, and it's a teenaged boy with Down's syndrome. His mother was shooting me, shall we say, daggers from the eyeball area.

    Felt about 2 inches tall.

My Weber Genesis Silver will turn 20 years old in May. I’ve put it through hell, moved twice, leave it uncovered and exposed most of the time, and I regularly toss hardwood chunks onto the flavorizer bars to burn (I remove the grates and bars once or twice a year to scoop out the ashes). I’ve replaced most of the working parts over the years, but it’s rusting enough that I won’t be replacing much more before I put it out of it’s misery.

Despite my positive experience, I may seriously look into a Napoleon. Weber keeps moving more and more of their production to China, and that’s a big neg from me. I’m looking at you, too, Traeger. Besides, Napoleon looks like it may be better quality, anyway.

I have a Genesis Platinum that turned 19 years old TODAY. While I haven't moved, it's been uncovered that entire time and is still in good shape. I've replaced the burners and grates a couple times, have a single broken knob and igniter, but still works like a charm.

The actual grill box warped enough that the grates would fall in after about 13 years. Called them up and they replaced it for free (warranty on that is lifetime). So, if that's where you have rust, it might be the same for you.
