Call me crazy but in hindsight I actually think this might go the other way. This team has gone into every half the whole season confident and complacent and comes out unprepared in the 3rd quarter. If that play happens to start the 3rd quarter instead of end the half I think this game goes differently. They had twenty minutes to process it and regroup and frankly play better than the other team in the 3rd quarter for once
I agree with this, we have had the lead in most of our games at half, in the previous 6 games we were outscored 41-6 and the previous 9 it’s 58-16, all of which we had the lead. In UGA/1 we outscored them 15-0. When we are behind we seem to make adjustments, when we aren’t behind we sniff farts because there’s no need to adjust.
So many what ifs… I’m on team go under center and keep trying from the 1, 4 tries. If you don’t make it you weren’t good enough or want it enough, at least you have them in a tight spot.
Holding was basically allowed so we should have installed that in our offensive game plan. The pass interference calls in the end zone helped them immensely by shrinking the field. I like the idea of a heavy package but we aren’t good trying to use it. The DL gets low and submarines into the backfield, OL should hold on and pancake them, lead with a heavy to stomp on the defenders grasping hands and arms leading the ball carrier and another heavy behind him pushing him like a snow plow. I dunno, has to be better than a slow developing horizontal pitch 8 yards behind the LOS

Not even close. The playcall is terrible when you have a safety at the LoS just waiting to blow the RB up. We literally had no one to account for Downs, we ran the play like we were at midfield and Downs was 10 yards deep.
It’s interesting looking at this POV, even with the mismatched numbers 5 defenders on 4 blockers, that play probably scores if it doesn’t play out so wide. If the RB takes a straight line down along Banks left shoulder and folles him in I think it works. But as executed it looks more like one of Ewers lollipop passes that takes to long to get there.

2009! The glory years
I will be the first to give you props, I’m impressed with someone who can simultaneously get frostbite and 3rd degree burns while posting on the internet on their burning couch while wearing jorts in a snow storm.
Simultaneously means at the same time, just fyi.

We have been wracked by injuries, the flu, and the shortened week. This team would be beaten soundly is they had to play themselves from August.
I don’t know, I think this MASH unit could actually beat NIU.

It stung for sure, but I don't know that it really "did a number" on us. To me it always felt like the universe was temporarily out of balance and that the natural order would eventually be restored. It was a brief trip to Bizarro world that never felt like reality. Somehow, deep in my plums, I never doubted that a) aggy was cheating, and that b) they would revert to sucking once caught.
The universe was certainly out of balance, there were massive weed shortages and the crap coming up from the southern border was full of seeds and smelled like gasoline. Shaped like a semi gas tank.
Found a bum on Guadalupe that had kaleidoscope paper LSD and “Thai stick”, both tasted like kerosene. Meanwhile, the Aggies were rolling us yet Peter gardere beat OU every year. Now weed is practically legal and none of it comes from Mexico, Aggies have reverted to 8-4; Texas is in the semifinals for the second straight year, and OU fucking sucks. So the universe has righted itself..

Seems like everyone though it was a run except Quinn and Tre.

Let's move on to other series like the second series of the game. We just came out and scored on ASU in two plays. We are in 11 personnel. This is something I complain about regularly. Y'all are going to get mad here so be ready.
1st and 10 and we run the usual slow developing play action fake. These kinds of plays require the defense to live in fear of teams running downhill on you. We try to pull Conner to pick up the DE and he just can't get there. The only way this works is if the DE fears run and pauses to check for it. If the DE just makes a beeline for the QB there is no way Conner can get to him. This play is just doomed from a schematic point with ASU being flat out quicker than us.
What was this play designed to do? TE and slot are blocking, receiver near side runs to defender and sets up to block, the only route being run is up top clearing out the corner and safety, so I guess it’s PA to Wisner and hope he squirts through traffic in the middle and gets open, so basically one option?
that was….something.

I can't help but laugh when people make this argument. A person who didn't play football doesn't have a chance in hell of getting a coaching job. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the average IQ of a Nividia employee is much higher than the average football coach. Two of the dumbest guys I ever worked with were former FB players. One played for Blowu and one for Bama. It was obvious they were there for only 1 reason.
Hugh Freeze would like a word with you once he gets off the phone with his escort service.

Last 8 games we have had the lead at half and have been outscored 60-16 in Q3. Seems like other teams are spending halftime adjusting on both O&D while we eat orange slices. Oh, wrong coach. So what exactly are we doing at halftime?

Yeah, I can't remember what game it was -- could have been NFL for all I remember -- but I recall seeing a defensive substitution force the ref to stand there while the clock ran to zero and the offense got hit with a delay of game penalty. They still had time outs, too.
I’m almost certain it was us either vs Clemson or UGA. Ref stood over the ball until the clock ran down and we got the delay of game penalty on offense.

UGA fucked that up so bad, there was zero reason to rush the mass substitution, they should have called the defense over and started sending guys in and let the delay of game happen. Glorious!!

Refs suck but B12 refs are still the worst. Fuck both these teams.

We have been outscored 60-16 in 3Q of our past 8 games.
That’s a real problem

“The 2026 SEC schedule might have us playing Georgia at Kyle field for the first time ever and Kentucky at Kroger Field for the first time since 1953:”.
In our first year we have played Georgia more times than Aggie has in their 12 years, that’s pretty absurd they have only played once. Also, is he assuming Kentucky will be a home game or is UK stadium also called Kroger field?

Damn... we are at a no lose position now... either OSU blows it and we can see the backlash against Day or Tenn loses and we have one less SEC SEC SEC dick rider to deal with during the playoffs
Personally I would like to see fOSU and end Days season this year then get him fired their very next game on 8/30. We could possibly take out half a dozen coaches next season if we play it right.

I think they should try to eliminate possible CCG rematches in the finals. Easy enough to do by putting PSU at 5 and us at 6, do they really want a possible UGA/UT round 3 in the finals? I would rather get UGA in the semis (where is that?) than the finals in Atlanta

Forget the seeding, who do we want to play?
I would personally prefer the 6 seed in McMurphys bracket to get to the finals. Clemson, Boise, UGA/Dome/IU

we are talking about the throw to Moore in the ez. What are you talking about?
Welp, thought you were in the dumb argument going about the play from post #18080

He threw the ball to the other shoulder opposite where the DB was. Moore was looking for it to the inside.
You’re completely wrong. On that play the OL was in pass pro to the left with the RB and RG screening right. the play was likely 1st read to the TE who was covered.
coverage was busted on the Z WR who was open by 30 yards and waving his arms in the corner.
its difficult to process all this at game speed with defenders bearing down unblocked, but an immobile QB spinning around with their back to the defense is not optimal. Keep your eyes downfield where you can see what’s transpiring, leave the spinning shit to slippery guys who can pull that off like a Kyler Murray type.
