It's gonna be great when Fox signs him and we have to sit and listen to this dolled-up cocksucker toss football word salads every Saturday morning.

As much as I dislike this SOB, is there anything worse than listening to Andre Ware or Dusty (I damn near killed my best friend) Dvoracek?

He’s a middling HC. Fantastic OC, middling HC.

Now that we have a moment of endorphin rush, is it finally visible to all that this logic doesn't hold? If it did then Charlie's  and Tom's past records of winning would have continued unabated because "that's what they are". There's too many moving parts to pick one and say that's the whole picture. This was a great week, but the jury is still out and will be for a while.

It's also possible that a coach can be pretty good, have a generational talent come along and make them look great. I think that's what happened with Charlie and a guy currently living about 90 miles east of Austin.

  3. I don't use the phase much, is it proper usage to say "this thread jumped the shark!"

We have been in the new coach death spiral since 2014. Stability takes time to settle things down, and youth and inexperience make for inconsistent results.

I don't remember the year, it was in the mid '80's. Walking up and down Commerce street, getting drunk and shouting stuff was still a thing although the police presence was VERY strong and they had instituted one way sidewalks by that point. I'm in a bar on Commerce with my girlfriend at the time (crazy redhead, sorry no pictures). The bar has large windows so the throngs of people going by had a kind of crowded goldfish bowl effect. Lots of folks from both sides in the bar just watching a wall of people flowing by from left to right. Then strangely, a very old lady, perhaps in her 80's goes by. She's right up against the glass, in this crowd of mostly young drunk yelling people. It caught everyones eye in that it was unusual and some of us were worried she would end up getting trampled. About this time Mr. drunk OU fan yells out "Hey look everyone, it's Miss Texas 1935!" Well, I couldn't stop myself. I yelled out "No, it's Miss Oklahoma 1985!" Most of the bar laughs, but drunk Sooner is offended and starts to head my way. A bartender(owner maybe) who didn't want trouble in his bar executes what is today considered an illegal horse collar tackle, aided by some previously spilled beer on the floor. The Dallas cops stationed just outside see the commotion of the guy going down and starting to struggle, in they rush and cuff the guy and have him out the door so fast his buddies hardly know what happened and have to rush out to keep up. After a pause the bar erupts in a short laugh .

Herman also wasn't able to throw NIL money at recruits. Not defending Herman (he had 4 years and couldn't get it done), but it's not like Sark is some recruiting savant.

I agree, but he hasn't wasted the opportunity either. Tom was probably wasted too much.

Max Johnson needs a nickname, like Mark "The Rifleman" Farris or Reggie "Real Deal" McNeal.

    How about...

Max "Following Johnny to Fat Canadian Stacks" Johnson?

    or

Max "1.5x Better Than Quinn" Johnson?

I already thought it was a screen name for a porn star. Why would he need anything else?

There isn’t a bad view in the upper deck of the Cotton Bowl…

Yet another meteorological comment. The comment above is true, except 1st quarter 1999 Cotton Bowl from the upper deck you couldn't see the field due to fog. IIRC it got better reasonably quickly. But maybe the first 5-7 minutes of clock time, it was hard to tell what was going on. What went on all day was Run Ricky, Run!

I've acknowledged that karma was a poor choice of words. And I apologize. I still reserve the right to be disappointed that he showed no loyalty to the school that believed in him and gave him an opportunity to excel, leaving for a school that didn't take him originally, but put out the red carpet once he showed he was legit.

All I can assume is that you haven't been paying attention to the transfer portal, or that you are blinded by love of your school. Lots of kids moving around and each of them think they are moving to a better situation.
