How is it that Stanford is the only school we seem to lose recruits to for academic reasons?  Never hear about cal or UCLA or Virginia getting Texas athletes for that stated reason.  I guess notre dame a little bit but that’s not even true.

Stanford is on an entirely different tier than those schools. Its peers are the Ivy league schools. UCLA and Virginia are marginally better than Texas, if at all depending on major, and not worth the move for most people.

Whats great about this is that ESPN adjusts content on every page for each visitor based on who it thinks the visitors favorite teams are.. so this guy probably uses ESPN to creep on Texas a lot (while using texags for aggy news). He probably has no idea the internet works this way though

Funny story---University of Texas and its alumni were invited to join the UPenn Ivy club in midtown Manhattan.  As a joke, in the joint-licensing agreement, UT's team stipulated that A&M could not join the Penn Club or any other Ivy League clubs in New York.  Penn Club thought nothing of it so left it as a codicil.  So for the next 50 years, A&M alums can't join  a decent club in New York.  What started out as a sick joke is now part of their sad reality.

That said, their joint bid for LANL with Berkeley is going quite well.

    Stipulation also includes OUsux fwiw

I present to you the same desperate thinking that landed us Tristan Nickelson. We all know how that turned out.

Better than not getting him? Yea we know how it turned out but he still beat out whoever else we had...

Southern California DT Kenny Bigelow transferring to West Virginia

Defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow, once a top 25 national recruit who then suffered two major knee injuries, is transferring from Southern California to West Virginia.

Bigelow, who initially announced he was retiring from football in October before the NCAA awarded him a sixth year of eligibility, will be eligible in 2018 for the Mountaineers as a graduate transfer.

Bigelow suffered season-ending knee injuries in 2014 and 2016. Though he played sparingly for the Trojans last season, he could be a key addition for West Virginia. Earlier this week, the Mountaineers lost freshman All-American defensive tackle Lamonte McDougle, who decided to transfer.
