Headed to Birmingham next weekend for a golf trip - 2 rounds at Farmlinks and 4 rounds on the RTJ golf trail. Looking at playing Ross Bridge twice and then Oxmoor Valley - Ridge course and the short course (Valley course is under reconstruction). Anyone been out there, have any tips or recommendations for Birmingham area in general?
Played Ross Bridge in February, fantastic course.
We take an annual trip to the RTJ trail every year and play for 3-4 days straight, usually 36 holes per day.

Where I exercise there are many TV's on and one has Fox.
Everyday on their chyron they list "Critics blast so and so" (usually a democrat but today it was Fauci and his book deal.
Who are these critics? They never name them...

For all my available rep points, here is today's trivia question:
The word 'Jacket' is said out lout in 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' three times. Spicoli to the newsman is one. What are the other two?
JJL to the stereo salesman and Damone to Jefferson the football player?

Should have shot him. Protect your house and shit.
3 things kept me from whipping his ass.
1. My grandkids were there and didn't want to fight around them.
2. I'm generally a non-violent person.
3. He always carries a gun on him. Since he is somewhat crazy I didn't want to take the chance of the whole situation going terribly wrong.
The total lack of respect these people have for others is mind boggling.

i understand completely how you feel @NameAlreadyInUse.
not a few times have i felt almost grateful that my mother was not around for the last 2 years. my sister and i have discussed it...we agree, she would have bought in to it all, MAGA, pandemic hoax, Q, election fraud, everything. it would have been really difficult.
my dad (NE Tx) actually took down the stupid Rambo Trump flag that was flying in his barn when we were there for Christmas.
i had texted him on 1/6 and was pretty blunt, to wit: 'so dad...today our govt is under attack. tear gas and shots fired INSIDE the capitol. this is an insurrection attempt. Trump egged them on an hour ago...if you love this country you should consider taking down that stupid flag because Trump is a fucking traitor'.
he never replied, never said a word...but i went to visit last week and the flag was gone.
he still gets drunk and rants about Democrats and abortion, and this time it was immigration (of course, that's the bogeyman of the hour)...but he's done that for decades. he didn't mention Trump ONCE.
that's pretty significant progress for him. i like to think me being so blunt, and him being a veteran with a very strong patriotic bent...the coup attempt was a bridge to far.
A week ago last Sunday my oldest stepson was over at my house helping me with some projects and the next thing I know he is arguing with my wife/his mom (no pics) raising his voice at her about how the election was stolen, yada, yada, yada.
I reminded him to not raise his voice at her, you know, show some respect, and he threatened to punch me in the face. Immediately I told him to GTFO of my house.
If I would have said something like that to my dad he would have buried me on the spot. The point is, these cultists are taking it way to far.

Correct, and I bet that President and Dr. Biden won't even be able to move in until mid-February, given the deep cleaning, replacement of carpet, bug bombs etc. that needs to be done.
There are going to need to strip the bathrooms to the studs and replace everything. Would you want to sit on the same shitter as Dotard?

I don't even know why they are even attending these WH press briefings.
Nothing but horseshit will come out of their mouths.

The first time I went was ~1965 as a kid. I remember getting one of those sweet straw hats with a little fake alligator on it.
Wish I could find a pic.

It's incredibly hard to shoot your (or near your) age in golf. No way this fat tub of shit is doing that.

First NFL game I ever went to was Cowboys vs Eagles in the Cotton Bowl. Was probably in '70/71.
We were in the south endzone and saw Bob Hays catch a long TD pass. It was pretty awesome.

I have a little over an acre and here is my $0.02.
Get a ZTR. It is a time saver. I can mow my entire acre ~1 hour.
I also have a lawn tractor to pull implements (Fertilizer spreader, sprayer, etc.). Pulling implements with a ZTR is a PIA. You can't reach the control handles on the implements from the seat of a ZTR.

On the train out of Stuttgart, got to both Porsche and mb museums. That’s a full day. Do recommend for car people.
I've been to the Porsche museum, definitely worth the euros.

I remember going down to the Navasota river with my grandma and cousins and handcranking homemade peppermint ice cream. she had the old school wooden bucket with the stainless canister inside with ice and rock salt in between. great memories.
The rule when I was a kid was if you don't crank then you don't eat.

Went to Scottsdale last weekend.
Played Pinnacle Peaks GC and Troon CC.

I was at the gym working out and they had CNN and Fox side by side on their TV's.
Closed captioning was on both. Fox closed captioning was quite different in the words they were typing than the CNN's close captioning.
