This crowd is embarassing. Empty seats all over - everyone sitting down.
I mean I get that Orlando has zero culture or history but c'mon...
I completely agree especially given how many people are moving there.

This is bad for A&M
their claim to be the 2nd best team goes down if UH can’t keep going
Tech will have to take that title with NC State

Rodney Terry is going to eat Rick Barnes’ liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti.
Yeah, but RT has a G6PD deficiency, so it doesn’t work out well.

rock is one of the more well liked coaches in all of cbb when it comes to his peers, especially those who’ve been around for awhile. i know there’s a lot of coaches and former coaches out there with titles shot rooting for rick to win one.
Yeah, as much as I root against Texas in like every sport (rivalries are only fun when both sides care); I always rooted for Barnes when he wasn't playing Tech.

reading the stuff around here, none of that was his fault. true genius is often working on a higher level. im sure his team stats show they're a top 12 team
surly poster >>> ole miss should extend him now !
I wonder how well this post ages. It’ll be interesting to see if he can replicate his success outside of Texas the next few years or if he’ll just be a “what could’ve been” coach. As a Tech fan I’ll def be rooting for the latter and don’t care if it is considered schadenfreude.

I would honestly prefer McCasland today. Ask me 4 years ago and it's obviously Beard. But, Grant is clearly a very good coach and does not seem to have the immense amount of personal baggage Beard carries around.
I see McCasland being like James Dickey, a couple SS, and getting into the tourney more years than not, but not much more. Great for a mid major like Tech, but not elite.

I don’t follow a lot of K-State b-ball, but does Perry get a lot of heckling during the game for having the same name as the actor who plays Madea?

The benefit of hindsight notwithstanding, I wonder if Tech fans would prefer Beard over McCasland today.
Dude, are you serious? Beard took us to an elite 8, and within seconds of a national championship. He got Ole Miss ranked for the first time in like 5 years. Sure they are losing to ayeneum, but he wouldn’t be starting fresh at Tech. He probably would’ve been the best coach in Texas men’s NCCA basketball had he not run up to that plainview McD’s.

Yeah and the abuse allegations on top of all that. Locking a player in the bathroom stall, the story about a player cutting his hand because he had to dunk the basketball a bunch of times etc.

I don't know. Tech has a hard on for Texas like nothing else. It's their Super Bowl if Tech could actually play in a super bowl and they let Mahomes QB and lead them to a threepeat all in one game. That's what it seems like this means to Tech. Which is great, just no need to deny it.
Yeah, and Tech tends to underperform (at least in football) when they see the burnt orange on the other end. The vitriol against UT has ramped up like crazy in basketball, especially since Beard's tenure at both places. I'm definitely trying a reverse jinx tactic as both teams are honestly pretty mediocre for the Big 12 at this point in the season and anything can happen.

That was definitely the ribs. Falling with an outstretched arm like that can def leave you with a rib injury. The biggest pain in the ass is that it hurts during inspiration. They tend to heal quickly though.
