FSU shouldn’t get in their back up sucks. Will the committee take that into account or no?

People shouldn't say this. Change it to "Ewers has a shoulder injury, so 12-1 Big 12 Champ Texas shouldn't get in" and we'd be screaming bloody murder.

What a dumb fucking argument. If FSU is undefeated ACC Champ, shitty backup or not, they should go.

BCS rankings: Why AP Top 25 Poll withdrew in 2004 - Sports Illustrated

    This article contradicts your memory.

"... Then came the 2004 season, which was marked by two controversies that left Cal and Auburn feeling jilted and put the polls that determined their fate in a burdensome position.

Thanks to a late push from voters in the AP and coaches polls resulted in the Texas jumped Cal for the No. 4 spot in the BCS rankings, a week after both teams had finished their regular seasons, which put the Longhorns in position for selection to the Rose Bowl. Three AP voters in Texas flipped their votes in favor of UT following a soapbox speech from coach Mack Brown."

And that article is 10000% fucking wrong. Syntex did an analysis definitively proving that narrative was false.

    Define “okay with.”

If Texas goes 12-1, wins the Big 12, and is #5 looking up at 4 undefeated champs or 3 + 12-1 Oregon; as it stands today it’s hard to argue Texas is a top 4 team in that scenario. Should have gone for it at the end of the OU game, tough shit. Still unequivocally a great year. Anyone thinking that is underachieving and would not take that result is crazy.

The only plausible playoff scenario Texas would really have a legitimate gripe on is Alabama beating Georgia and vaulting over Texas for a spot. Honestly Alabama would have the more impressive body of work and if Texas’s signature win were over another team at the same rank I’d favor Alabama; but fuck that shit, it was litigated on the field in a two score game.

If you mean you’d rather miss the playoff because you would rather win a NY6 (not a guarantee) as opposed to playing a CFP semi as a likely underdog, yeah that is dumb aggy nonsense. You want to compete for a championship.

    What are you, a lawyer?

Almost all of these CFP scenarios have us on the outside looking in and my attitude is I don't care. If we went 13-1 but didn't get into CFP as the first team out, I'm okay with that because what a great fucking season that is. One of the best ever? I don't know, but still great. Probably one of the top 15-20 considering where we've been over the last decade+.

Do I hope we make CFP? Yes. Do I hope we win CFP? Yes. My point was it sounds like a lot of you are already doomsaying if we don't make CFP and I was just curious if I'm the only one here not doomsaying...because if we were to finish 13-1 but miss CFP, I would be okay with that.

And, bro, don't go throwing around aggy at me. I'm the third consecutive generation of my family to hang a diploma from The University of Texas at Austin on my wall and there's a National Championship ring in my immediate family. You can call me dumass. You can call me idoit. You can call me moran. But don't call me aggy.

I meant from a NFL perspective. I want him to come back to Texas. The higher he gets drafted, the worse the team he goes to will be. If he were to declare after this season, scouts would shit on everything but his arm. He could possibly fall to later in the draft and get to sit a year or so, which would be best for him and every other qb.

There's no guarantee of that. The NFL has started ten rookie QBs this year including Danny Devito's nephew or whoever. A few years ago 9 rookie QBs started.

Blue looks like average RB size to me.  He really should be given the shot to take most of the snaps, from what I’ve seen between him and Baxter.  He has some juice.  What bothers me about Baxter is he doesn’t break tackles.  It’s like flag football, you get a hand on him and he’s tackled.

Isn't Blue about 6'/200? That's not that far off of the NFL average 5'10"/210.

I just don't see it. He's got that team rolling right now I just can't believe he would leave with so much unfinished business. Then again he's an Aggie so logic doesn't really apply

I mean, if they couldn't get Kubiag to leave the Texans...

other than the five NFL starters and the practice squad guy, what ELSE did we have? AND THUS IT WAS A WEAK SPOT

Ryan Palmer until he went into the penal system, Erick Jackson, and Brandon Foster were passable as backups. And Drew Kelson was no slouch. I'd say ask Joel Klatt, but he probably has no memory of Kelson.

And also could be the X factor that makes deciding to come back much easier. I wasn't around at the time but I don't think even Chris Simms was cruising around Austin in an Aston Martin, and probably didnt have an apartment/condo quite to the level of what Quinn enjoys.

    Chris had an Escalade.
