MS 150 is  in the books. Thanks to those who donated. Resting is over and will get back to riding tomorrow.

Nasty headwind on Saturday. Completely demoralizing.

Thinking of doing that Lukemia charity ride around Lake Tahoe next year.  Anybody done it?

I too did my first MS150 from Houston so we had tail wind/cross wind both days. The hardest was the last 14 miles into Collie Station. Holy shit the cross wind was brutal.  Rode with team sponsorship so had a cot and air-conditioned sleeping arrangement.  Didn't have to tent camp.  Saw several bad wrecks on Sunday due to wet roads.

I just found an unopened Amazon box from 20 fucking 18. We needed a record play so bad we just couldn’t live without it. We have a cash flow problem, yet shit from Amazon just keeps showing up and getting shoved in a hole somewhere unopened

The man who went on a violent, sexually charged rampage in Las Vegas over the weekend was drugged ... at least according to his family.

Brian Danilczyk downed a drink laced with hallucinogenics, causing him to slug a one-legged man at the Flamingo Hotel Sunday, his wife reportedly told the press.

Danilczyk then got naked and barged inside Harrah's Hotel and Casino, where he flaunted his genitals and danced on top of a poker table. Vegas cops wrestled Brian to the floor, arresting him for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

  5. From Liucci's top 44 list for 2021 which we know it's inflated towards their recruits and certainly a work of fiction. 4 of 9 top aggy commits are in the portal (LJ Johnson #5, Stowers #9, Adeleye #13, and Burris #19).

  6. We sold our house in Texas and relocated to northern NJ last year and couldn't be happier.  The cost of living is higher but we are one hour to the Jersey shore, 40 minutes to midtown Manhattan, 2 hrs to the Poconos.  More importantly, 6 hrs to Maine where we are considering buying some land which is dirt cheap.   Think 70 wooded acres for $100K.  Maine is one of the least populated states in the country for a good reason.  It's BFE, remote with an aging population and mostly white.  However, it's only an hour to so to Canada if this country goes to hell in a handbasket.

Other than an occasionally trip back to Texas to see family, I see no reason to ever live in Texas again.  The weather is awesome outside of Dec to April but WFH so we pick and choose when we need to venture out. No drought, scorching heat, or tornadoes but a nor'easter can wreak havoc.  The high today is 70 and the low is 59.  The natives are rude but it's like an Aggie where we try to limit our exposure to them.

I do miss Whataburger, HEB (when it's open) and brisket so I get my fill when I venture back but the excellent Italian food and pizzas more than make up for it.  Plus, I can choose any type of cuisines in NYC.  We bike everywhere in the city and feel much safer than in Texas due to dedicated and sometimes protected bike lanes.  No need to take the subway to avoid the occasional mugging unless we are going to lower Queens for east of Brooklyn (La Guardia).  College sports sucks but a plethora of professional teams to root for.

I think sports in general are kind of doing this. There is a lot of things to entertain and demand your attention these days.

Though I was pleasantly surprised how many boys at my son's 5th grade graduation listed their dream job as a major league baseball player. So at least some kids still love the game.

I didn't think the Corvallis crowd was bad at all, they packed that place. They just looked cold in their coats and fleeces.

But to your main point yeah I was impressed by the ECU crowd showing up both during the first two games but especially with that huge rain delay in Game 3 down 4-0 and a large number stayed until the final out at like 2 AM eastern time. Again I suspect ESPN did them a disservice by focusing the camera on the trashiest douchebags. Have some class and just show hot women ESPN.

well shit, what else is there to do in Greenville on a Monday night?
