Ok, I'm certainly no expert on corporate pay by department but it seems odd to me that employees in supply chain and ops are paid lower than every other department (e.g., HR, finance, risk, marketing, legal, corporate communications, security, etc.).

What I find interesting is the Nashville move. They had trouble getting supply chain and ops people to move to Seattle and they knew they sure as shit weren't moving to NYC. So, they picked Nashville, which for a smaller market, has more corporate HQ's than you think. Smart move there.
Why did they have trouble getting supply chain and ops people to move to Seattle? I mean, why those two categories in particular? Are they paid lower than other categories and thus couldn't bring them to Seattle due to the cost of living?

I think NYC and VA understand that Amazon isn't hiring 50k locals. Amazon wants to hire the top 1% of people in every field. It's easier to attract the top 1% in certain locations, in part because a sizable chunk already live in those locations.
This tweet seems nativist, anti-immigrant and insular. A decent percent of the best software engineers on the planet are going to be foreigners or people from other states. I guess "Seattle" doesn't want different or diverse people, only native borns.

So how many HQs will Amazon have? Three? Or are LIC and Arlington each half an HQ?

Disclaimer: I have not watched the video because I don't want to watch someone die
Hitting or shoving people in parking lots is deadly. During my first year of law school, one of my good friend's dad was murdered at a gas station. He was filling up his tank and someone surprised him from behind or the side demanding his wallet and cell phone. My friend's dad is caught off guard but tries to comply. He fumbles with his wallet for a couple of seconds and the guy hits him. My friend's dad's head hits the curb on the way down. Coma. Few days later, dead. We went to a funeral for my 25 year old friend's 50-something dad.
I'm not advocating for the shooter. Again, I haven't watched the video. But a grown man assaulting someone in a parking lot is not a schoolyard fight as some seem to be deeming it. It is absolutely an action that can reasonably result in the victim's death.

It’s be nice if Hamilton could hit the ball on the ground every now and again.

Blue was a wide zone now. Wants to get home.

I wouldn’t throw Shugart here.

Just recently got back. I'd steer clear of the city center. Insanely crowded. Must have been 1 billion tourists. Rather, spend time in Jordaan, Oud-west and Oost. My favorite meal was Cafe Binnenvisser. Book Ann Frank tickets well in advance if you want to go to the house.

Another vote for Derry Girls.
I also really like the Last Kingdom books. I agree there are too many but I've enjoyed reading each one. I liked Uhtred a lot better when he was fighting for the Danes.
