They sent the cardboard “booklet” last year, and said they will be mailed out again for this season.

I don’t think that is right, in the time slot email this was one of the last bullets.

I selected on Monday and pretty much the entire lower West side was red/selected.  We are already close to the 50 and under the shade of the upper deck so we're happy but had hoped to move up a few rows but no joy.  I had been toying with the idea of the Centennial Club because my wife has trouble with the heat but our donation level doesn't get us there because so few seats free up there each year.  LHF advised me to make a 1-time $25,000 donation to jump up to Date 1 selection to get a shot.  Yikes.

I am in the same general area and even on day 1 there was not much under the shade in sections 4/5. There was seating in 4/5 if you wanted to move low enough to be out of the shade.

Or just park and get in a nice walk for free, you could also flag down a pedicab for $10 and it would still be cheaper.

    It is a nice walk.

More importantly I am not sure why you would park in the garages on campus, they are a pain in the ass to get out of post game. If I am not parking on surface parking on campus I would rather walk to one of the capitol garages just for the ease of leaving.

It is pretty questionable whether "no tents" ever on a public forum is a reasonable restriction. More to the point, I've seen a photo of maybe 1 tent from last week. Enforcing the rule is removing the tent and maybe the person who put it up. Not kicking out everyone. I get that you don't like their speech. I get that you don't like these students. I don't get how you don't give a fuck about a pretty blatant and violent violation of civil rights.

But we are talking about that happened today right? There were clear tents on campus today and it is clear they did that today to escalate the situation. Maybe now that tent question will get answered in court.

It's not a slippery slope.  If the reasonable rule is "no overnight camping, including structures like tents," and overnight starts at 10:00 pm., then you tell the folks there that they're free to conduct their activities till 10, then they'll need to clear out.  And we're asking them to do it nicely.  Y'all can come back and do it all over again starting at 8:00 am tomorrow.

If it hits 10, and they aren't clearing out, then tell them one final time, then clear them out.

This shit isn't hard.  It's only hard if you want to go full-on fascist because you don't like their viewpoint.

I agree - in this case the “reasonable rule” was no tents ever right? I mean i guess it can be debated if it was reasonable but everyone knew what the “red line” was going to be.

I think it’s dumb and you should just let students protest, i would be curious if the people they are pulling out so far at the ones that were criminally trespassed (the non-students from last week).

A few were shoved into vehicles and outside the chains with batons.  I don't think there were any overhand beats to the head, but they were certainly shoved around and pushed down.  The arrest records are still obfuscated as of now despite there being a clear chain of disclosure.  The Governor has to marry his force posturing with embarrassed alumni with legal due process of those arrested with the media fallout with half the Regents being disgusted by this with the Tower.  This is gonna get uglier before it gets better.

Thanks, the why this is snowballing it does seem like it is going to get bad at the Tower.

I am going to be annoyed if Hartzell ends up resigning over this

to DPS beating them with batons and throwing them in the back of a paddy wagon for holding signs.  That's a pretty big leap.

I am just catching up on this thread but did that actually happen? I saw video of a reporter falling/being tackled but no baton beating.

  8. Still debating where to stay, have a reservation in both Ann Arbor (but on the edge of town it looks like no where near anything) and Detroit (good location).

This game time actually makes driving back a little easier.

Also, I have an ambition to pick a Saturday evening, and do a "progressive taco trip" down N. Lamar between 183 and Rundberg.  There must be 20 different trailers and patio joints with picnic tables and colorful lights strung over them.  Take a few hours, and sample the wares from a half dozen one night?  Yes please.

I am with you, I listened to this last year and it made me want to do just that.

I've always assumed it was just a Chinese data mining racket.  It sounds like it's just a modern QVC and taking advantage of housebound elderly folks.  Probably both, I guess.

It’s just ultra cheaply made Chinese goods. These things are coming straight from the factory to you and avoiding import taxes (by direct shipping).

The quality is going to be low but at those prices most people don’t care/accept that as part of the cost.

This finally fixed itself, so I was able to place the full order.

My law partner got a random call from the LHF to thank her for being a donor, and she asked when the seat selection times would be emailed. She was told that the email is supposed to go out tomorrow with seat selection time slots. Not sure if that will be true, but thought I'd pass it along.

Yep - email just came out, time slot next Wednesday.

One thing is for certain, I will be cracking a few beers here shortly out in the backyard.  Whether I see the sun or not, who knows.  But I will certainly be at peace.

Latest Satellite cloud layer from wunderground.com

Folks out in Marble Falls might get lucky and catch part of the 50-mile-wide gap in the clouds that is near Fredericksburg right now, but everyone else in Cen Tex looks out of luck.

Hoping for this. We can see the sun through the clouds now in patches. Hopefully we catch a break.

I just requested the OU and Michigan tickets, I think I will get the A&M ones to sell to friends or something because i am not going to that shithole.

That’s interesting. It starts with devices produced in 2025, I think the only parts Apple does that today are displays on iPhones right?

I wonder why they did carve outs for things like HVAC systems, video game systems and electric toothbrushes.

. But we who are about to receive super powers must be patient with our fellow Earthlings.

After the treatment I get to keep my bespoke mask. When Day of the Dead comes around, if I am not actually dead, I plan to paint it up like some Pre-Hispanic Death God maybe with some big green feathers sprouting in a circle off the rim where they bolted it to the back half.

You know with between this, the super hero/villain mask and the solar eclipse….I feel an origin story coming together.

Yeah and that's part of the equation - apple also actively prevents users from using any other client but iMessage for handling texts, by virtue of their walled garden app store. Text messaging is just one facet of the lawsuit and antitrust action being brought

But thats just not true, you can download any of the other messaging apps. Apple is not preventing you from using something other than iMessage to handle texts. (Nor is it even what the DOJ is accusing them of).
