  1. Mike Scarborough at TigerBait is saying LSU is all in on Riley and he thinks that is who LSU will hire.
    This weekend might be wild.

Why this weekend? Isn’t OU going to the big xii championship regardless. Haven’t been paying attention so maybe not.
  2. As someone who saw JQJ in high school a few times, I was pretty excited about what he might be able to do at Texas. One huge playoff game Duncanville Vs Southlake with Tom Herman in attendance and Quinn Ewers Vs JQJ. And I didn’t even follow up to see where he landed. So then I look up the Utah roster and see he’s played a little bit this season as a RB. Wonder if he will end up like Roshon Johnson. I don’t follow Utah football at all.

    JQJ @ Utah:

2021: Has seen action in three games, recording six carries for 30 yards (5.0 ypc) and one touchdown as a reserve running back.

Someone told me that he had interest in coming back to Texas. Who knows if true.
  3. I don’t keep up with the gators but why the fire Dan Mullen takes? Yes he sucks this season but hasn’t he been okay the previous season? I was looking at his record and he’s won 10, 11, and 8 games. I guess I didn’t expect him on the hot seat after this season.

I also haven’t seen a gators game this year. I know they almost lost to a fcs team but I kinda stay away from shitting on other teams when I see my shitty team play every Saturday.

  4. (Eric Nahlin) Humidor: Information on the Longhorn program heading into Kansas
Chris Beard’s hoops squad isn’t the only UT team taking on a traditional basketball power Saturday night. In Steve Sarkisian’s Thursday press conference he made the point most of the players are bought in. We put that statement to our sources with one estimating 90% of the team was bought in, with 10% being “just here.” We believe even Sarkisian himself would take umbrage with that high of a percentage of buy-in, but the point being is we haven’t heard Bo Davis’ tirade was emblematic of a total team-wide issue. The case could definitely be made the team lacks vocal leadership (we’ve been saying that) and even the player-driven accountability Davis was attempting to deliver.
Now, we will say we’ve heard from different people things might be worse than people realize — namely entitlement and players tuning out the coaches — but we haven’t heard that from our best sources. We’re mentioning it here because we won’t pretend to know the full story and if this team continues to crater down the final third of the season it would lend more credence to that notion. That issue, if it is true, likely stems directly from how the season transpired. We even saw it in 2017 after the team suffered a long stretch of heartbreaking losses.
In short, at least as of now, this seems more like a team on a four game losing streak than a program in turmoil. Two things are for sure: Texas needs to win these last three games, and then Sarkisian needs to make a full-on assault to improve culture through player turnover and looking at every aspect of his managing process to see if there are areas that need to be tweaked or outright altered. Funny enough, just settling the quarterback position would go a long way, because winning is a panacea.

Speaking of quarterbacks, we’ve received predictions for both Casey Thompson and Hudson Card starting. We lean towards Thompson getting the nod based on snap allocation this week, but, as Sark said on Thursday, both will play. Our sources says Casey’s thumb is fine. Sark said as much after the Iowa State game but then changed his tune on Monday. We don’t believe the thumb is a current issue.
We’ll go a bit more into running back detail right before kick-off. There’s a lot of uncertainty right now. Regardless, we do believe Jonathon Brooks will receive a fair amount of touches. He’s improved from when we saw him earlier in the year, and he already looked pretty good then. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has been bitten by the injury bug, but where as some others were in green non-contact jerseys this week, he was full-go on Thursday. We expect him to play. Jaylan Ford had increased reps this week and will play a lot. Alfred Collins should be good to go.

Considering everything going on, it was a focused week of practice. There was more teaching than usual as coaches slowed things down due to so many players missing time. At one point this week over 10 guys were out for various reasons. Beyond running back, another position group was hit particularly hard.

As of last night, the videographer hasn’t officially been kicked off the team but IT has heard he was voted off by the team leadership group.

The part where they say just settling the quarterback position would go a long way. Is that an Ewers hint? Literally grasping at straws lol
  5. I can’t even be mad at atm.

Literally all Texas had to do is be decent. Not even good (yet) just decent and they could’ve had the similar momentum. I don’t even blame the coaches anymore. We are what we are. I blame the higher ups. If UM really told them they aren’t ready to win or whatever he said then Texas deserve this. Us alumni and fabs just have to sit here with their mistakes. And maybe sark is the one doesn’t look likely but to have him as the UM back up is comical.

One day we will be good again and have all the momentum. Todays not that day. When that day comes I will enjoy every minute of it. I’ll support these damn losers until I die and my emotional and mental health will suffer.

  6. Look I’m all for additional NIL deals, but no one is signing up for burnt ends anymore and we are having people cancel after these losses. I’m not willing to risk 10s of thousands out of my own pocket because a bunch of people on the internet want to talk shit about paying players, but don’t actually pay them.

we are continuing burnt ends through 4 seasons at minimum, that’s ~280k over 4 years. It will be a top 5 NIL deal in the entire country if we keep going. As of now I think we are top 15 or 20 at the worst.

now if there are less than 7 players in the room I’m down to pick 1 or 2 additional choice players or positions to award a 1 year thing to - the number we will plan for is always 7 players though.

This. Is. Stupid. People cancelling their subscriptions after losses. The coaches suck. We aren’t funding them, we are helping fund the TE’a who signed up for this shit show.

I hope those people aren’t the same ones saying we need to pay the high end recruits. Because you know, we could. ( legally of course) If every single one of us actually contributed and stopped bitching. If the BMD’s aren’t gonna do it then we need to step up somehow.

  7. Based on what I keep hearing, I think people are scared to be too positive about Arch because all the information out there is positive for us. If football wasn’t a factor, I think he would come to Texas in a heartbeat.

I’m not sure how anyone today could pick another school over us. Stuff still has to play out, but he loves Texas and Austin. Has lots of friends here too.

This change if ewers transfers here?
  8. Not that anyone says it’s happening but I don’t see Anderson flipping to Texas. Unless by a miracle, Texas wins the rest of their games (lulz) and atm loses some. then maybe I can see it. Texas had their shot and aggy beating bama didn’t help. Kinda shocked this staff isn’t better at recruiting or mostly going all Chris Beard and saying fuck it. Make the NIL work do what you have to do. Anderson wasn’t bought , mostly talking about the others.

  9. People keep equating “talent” to recruiting (ie ability coming out of hs). On that front, yeah only OU matched us.
But what really matters is recruiting talent AND developing it. Herman’s staff failed badly at the second part. Elite high school talent is worthless if they don’t get better. It’s why true freshman almost never do shit anywhere.
So idk but it’s very possible that the individual players at Ark or OSU are truly better than ours. They’ve been developed. Ex: Foster was a 5 star “talent” but does anyone think he’s better than Jalen Catalon? Nope.
Oh and development takes years. This staff has shown plenty of issues but it’s too soon to pin lack of development on them. That’s Herman.

Kinda where I’m at. Are you really telling me every 5 star we sign (besides bijan) is a bust or nowhere near where we’d thought they’d be? I know the Mack brown curse is real so maybe. For example Caden sterns. I swear if he went to LSU he probably would’ve won the thorp. Just our luck I guess. Also boils down to coaching.

Does Texas have talent, yes. Does Texas have the talent they should have,no. Besides maybe Arkansas, talent didn’t cost us the OU and OSU game. Would’ve helped for sure but Texas could’ve easily won those games with the talent on the team. Not blaming PK (or maybe I am) but like what the fuck. He was great at Washington and then comes here. Everyone keeps pointing to talent. Yes we need better players and for his system but to be damn near last or maybe we are last now in defense is ridiculous. And then they finally play okay against OSU and the offense cost us the game.

End of the day it’s coaching. Yes we need better talent but the big xii sucks. We should be able to get by with what we have but we can’t.
