  1. Thing is, a win over Kansas is critical for this over-achieving Texas team.

Win, and play for the B12 Championship, plus 9 regular season victories.

Lose, and play in a mid-level bowl at 8-4 - good season, considering recent past Texas seasons, but not playing for a championship.

If Ehlinger can go, play him.

Hopefully, the Horns get a big scoreboard early so we can play Shane and rest up Ssm.

  2. Bru so wants to just be a "USC guy" (like many of us on this board are Texas guys, no matter what).  I hope Bru comes to Texas - he won't regret it if he does - but personally I'm backing away from this one for awhile.

I am intrigued by the Williams RB, though.  I love those Newhouse types that can actually play (and Robert was a PLAYER both at UH and as a DC), so if we can get us one, let's get us one, lol.

  3. Jake Smith and Whittington will make up for Moore, in spades, but man I HATED losing Moore last cycle.

Moore reminded me of Heisman potential last year. But so do Smith and Whittington this cycle.

It's all good. Of course, I have no other choice.

  4. RonDale Moore just killed it for Purdue.

    12 balls for 170, 14.2 avg, 2 TDs, with a long of 43.

Texas just couldn't keep him committed because he loved Purdue, of all places, lol.

I hated losing Moore, lol. Dang.

We've got some super-slots verballed for this year, that's for sure.

Nah, us and Arkansas are working hard to recruit a kid who will be slow and bad in college. It's a Mensa thing.

Lol. I get it. And obviously the staff wouldn't pursue if they didn't think he gets completely well.

Apart from your excellent point, anybody got any insight on that kind of injury. To me. It sounds concerning, but I sure ain't no doc.

I predicted back in 2011 that Nebraska leaving the conference would destroy their program. I would claim that I have prophetic powers but that was so obvious only somebody as out of touch as the University of Nebraska administration would not have seen that coming. Going head to head with Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame for limited rust belt talent? Recipe for disaster.

    Exactly.

NU pretty much was forced to abandon the Texas recruiting grounds because Nebraska, without B12 rivals, simply does not have the cache of, say, an Ohio State in the B1G.

"My name is Ozymandius." Thus do empires die, lol.

I like the #9 slot halfway through.  Texas is in a very good position.
We're home with Baylor coming in and let's beat them.
There's no way this club runs the table in the regular season, but if they do ....
    If they do ....

    Club?

Just a figure of speech, lol. Although I hope we club the dog out of Baylor.

A 1-loss OU in the CCG is just as appealing to voters.

I also think it's possible Notre Dame and Clemson lose a game.  If that happens, Texas doesn't need anyone else on the schedule to do anything.  Winning out would be enough.

Could be. Good points. I agree.
