    Take your pick:

"Texas' schedule is the softest in the SEC"

"The SEC hasn't been the same since Saban retired"

"The league office / refs put their thumbs on the scale to make sure the sips win"

"Texas' entire program is built on NIL, they wouldn't have lasted a season before being able to buy their team"

I know you already know this and were asking a rhetorical question, but it will be fun to see which excuse because the officially sanctioned replacement for the "Big 12 easy" line they've been touting for more than a decade. Honestly, their ability to manage cognitive dissonance is impressive.

The ag’s ability to manage cognitive dissonance is the single concept that makes this thread the best thing in the history of the internet. Pretty sure Al Gore had texags screenshots in mind when he created it.

    Catfish Parlor down on 71?

I’ve pass that joint on the way to the airport a lot. You been?

The other place that occurs to me is Deckhand. I go there 1x a quarter or so- but not for Cajun. They have absolute dynamite green curry.

    Green Mesquite patio

I used to love that place. Haven’t been in years.

  4. The Horn was just terrible. Before the implosion it was wall to wall high school bullshit. And the whole time the fm signal was non-existent and the AM had classic AM/power-line static and an ocasional tejano station. I like tejano, so at times I liked it. But it’s a terrible way to run an ad business.

I think Rod is badass. I remember running into him in college and he was a great dude. Now- I love listening to him break down the sport. I appreciate that he looks a tape and stats and then gives you an actual informed take on what happened / will happen.  I even liked his solo show. Can’t see how he sticks around there. He’s capable of more.

  5. So this AM I’m laying in bed checking out Surly and reading about poison freshwater fish and suddenly I decide that I’m having fried catfish for lunch. So, I think to myself, I haven’t been to Hoovers in like a decade, I’m going to sit at the bar up there and eat catfish. I told my family that I’m having solo lunch and drove thru the 173 stop lights between Tarrytown and Hoovers, only to find that it ain’t the same at all. Bar was non-existent, it was really dark inside and there was nobody there except 2 employees. Poor guy said they never recovered from Covid.

I like Shoal ok, I mean, I go there quite a bit, but not really for quality of food. Mostly just because Reagan will comp me a beer or 2 and I can always get down with the garlic shrimp. My question is, where does one destroy a basket of fried fish with hush puppies?

  6. My dad told me the air smells like Bbq and is making him hungry. They’re in Amarillo and safe but several family friends in the Borger/ Stinnett area lost everything. Sucks.

No snow really this year, just wind like always. The summer was crazy wet though. What I remember about growing up in the panhandle is good looking women, panhandle style Mexican food, and wild ass weather.

  7. Stars have done too good of job at drafting to move Murray. If Benn and Segs were still the team, then maybe. But it’s the young guys and the younger guys right now. It’s a good place I think

    But I don’t know shit.
