  1. LMAO. you know about the circus monument??? My wife’s cousins moved out of wahpeton last year because their kids all moved out west so they had no reason to stay. Anyways, august 2021 we went a double decker bus “one last cruise” around wahpeton so the girls could see their hangouts one last time before probably never returning unless for a reunion or whatever. Parents chose 3 stops for this cruise. First stop was the cat fish-predictable. Second stop was some bridge over the red river-cool but it’s a walking bridge. Third was the circus tent massacre monument-which the girls had no idea it even existed, and neither did I.

Sooo random of a place to stop for one last hoo-raw around town. Even more random someone on surly knows about it

I’m around somewhat regularly for work and make a habit out of looking up whatever local nonsense is around. That one…. Sticks out

  2. Truly depends on what you value. I have the reserve but enjoy the sky club. What really makes the card worth while is the companion pass which more than covers the annual fee of $550.

The Amex platinum is better Delta rewards per mile but no pass or Skyclub.

I agree. There are better cards but the reserve has done right by me and as I rarely fly through atl, I mostly rode in domestic first class until I got status that would have gotten me there anyway. The sky club was also a lifesaver before airports fully reopened.

Also the companion pass was worth 700 to me without counting the other benefits.

  3. Do you remember what town? I’m always looking for new tenderloin pilgrimages.

For my money, the St Olaf Tap way up in the Driftless Area has the best. St Olaf’s population is 106.

Primrose in Corning is way better than it had any right to be.

  4. Am I the only person who has a batshit crazy relative into conspiracy theories, and when they hear about something like this they text you something like "you make fun of me, but don't you think this is weird that this is happening after all the stuff in Ukraine" and my response is "Look, I can't talk to you about this on mobile phone, but you know that I have a friend who works at Camp Mabry, and all I can do is ask if you have a bug out bag ready, and how fast can you drive to Hearne?"

Look if my option is post apocalyptic wasteland or hearne, I’m all in on the wasteland.
