Or Ironside, Quincy, Columbo, Baretta, Mike Hammer, Magnum, P.I., Simon & Simon, Starsky & Hutch, Chips, Adam-12, Emergency!, Kojak, Police Woman, The Rockford Files, SWAT, Hart to Hart, Hawaii Five-O, The Streets of San Francisco, Charlie's Angels, Mannix, and a few more.....  you've got a LOT of olds on here who remember back when there was good TV shows to watch, back when there were only 3 networks for this type of entertainment, and "cable TV" really didn't start branching out until the 80s.

I had an Adam-12 lunchbox in the 2nd grade.

    Yes, im an old.

Campbell pretty much did the same thing every time he got meaningful snaps. He committed a penalty within his first three snaps on the field, but was damn near flawless for the rest of the game. He has the potential to be special.

Funny. One of my main memories of Campbell after he took over for Hutson, was totally ignoring a guy stunting across his face and sacking Ewers.

    I wouldnt call that flawless

  3. We have had some obvious guys hit the portal so far.

Who else is buried on the depth chart that might pull the trigger?

Im suprised Ishmael Ibraheem hasnt gone.

With all the trouble hes been through, im suprised hes still here regardless.

He came in with such high expectations. And with him sticking around i was always expecting to see him pop up on the field and start realizing that potential.

But I dont remember ever seeing him on the field. I know ive never heard him mentioned.

  4. I really dont understand why these guys dont want the job.

They coach their position. And act like they are calling plays during games, while jimbo actually calls them. And jimbo gets credit for any success. And you take the fall for the bad.

Seems like a hell of a deal, fight?

My parents would beat me with a cane pole, hogtie me, and toss me on the first commercial flight to Palo Alto before they’d let that happen. A colossally shortsighted decision, especially if you consider the burn out/bust rate of their top TEs that recently went to NFL.

This makes no sense on many levels. I mean even dropping a bag on the kid still wouldnt sway the parents if they were in their night mind. Seems they dropped a bag on the parents to

Why did he turn down money? TCU isn’t exactly little sisters of the poor. I’d be surprised if they were to overpay like aggy at 3mm/yr for an OC, but they’re not exactly scrounging for nickels. He just signed an extension. They’re a private school and don’t need to disclose the contract, but I’m sure he’s getting market for a top OC.

Im really suprised i have to explain this. But the post right below yours explains it very clearly.

The context that came from was with regards to candidates for the North Texas job. I assume Riley is a front runner for it.

Its written like Riley turned down the money.

But he actually turned down aggy. Money be damned

He got the number 1 recruit in the country to go to Jackson State.  He’s going to be a serious force to be reckoned with in recruiting at CU if they are at all competitive with NIL.  And he’s going to leverage enough attention on the program at least initially where there will be NIL opportunities.

I think this is actually going to work unless he gets too aggressively shady and has a scandal like Prime Prep.  Presumably he’s making enough money and has enough oversight to guard against that somewhat, but I guess that hasn’t stopped plenty of other coaches. He actually looks like he can coach based on Jackson State, though, and there is nowhere to go but up.

Colorado was a good choice for him.  Anything will be better than what they’re used to, so he’s going to be able to keep selling progress and hope to recruits for a few years even if he just makes them some mediocre 5-7 team.  That lets him keep momentum in recruiting and stack a couple of classes, and then he really might have something.  If he had gone to a program that wasn’t so pathetic, everyone would have had knives out looking for ways to take shots at him for being in over his head if he wasn’t an immediate success.

I like deon. Im a cowboy fan fron the dorsett days.

Som you gotta love deon for his time with the cowboys.

He has been outspoken and flamboyant as a cfb.  Hc. And i think he will be able to leverage this in the short term.

How he will be able to perform in the long run is up in the air.

In my opinion,  i think he is a little too brittle. Personality wise to hold up to the demands of a cfb hc longterm. I could be wrong. But im not betting on him longterm. I expect a internal blowup at sometime in the next few years.  I think his personality is too big to be a guy who can build a program long term.  If he doesn't have instant success?  3-5 years?  Expect chaos.
