  1. Yeah, I'm not sure I see the logic in delaying (small) rate cuts until the inflation target is hit.  Seems like a classic "too late" move, prone to overshoot.  (Well, undershoot in an absolute sense.)

Where is the logic in cutting rates (small) when inflation has been stuck between 3-4% for the last 8 months, GDP fine, labor market fine and your target is 2%?

I’m afraid it’s higher for longer. You didn’t hear it here first.

I’m sure that the initial limited releases were good but I’ve been disappointed in my recent purchase of the JD barrel proof rye. Think I’ll stick to the store pick single barrels where I’ve had better luck. Also the JD BiB rye may be the best bang for the buck out there.

  3. R Lee Ermey's performance is so priceless because he wasn't acting, but rather channeling the insane characters that virtually every Drill instructor was.  He didn't need a script because it was just who he was and what a recruit experiences.  The depiction is just pure truth through a needle into your veins.
My favorite line in the whole flick is his comeback to "Did your parents have any children that lived?"
    "Sir, yes, sir"
    "I bet they regret that."
Encapsulates the sick-minded thorough dressing down every recruit receives in basic.  Sheer poetry.

My understanding is that Emrey was originally hired as a consultant to “train” the drill instructor actor. After seeing him in action, Kubrick made the right call.
