Interesting considering both teams shot the exact same FG% and the Warriors shot better from 3.

Im not watching, just looked at the box score. I saw 52% from the Cavs and thought it was from 3. Looks like im just dumb.

it has to be awesome to be klay thompson.  no one gives a shit when he doesn't score big, it's all on kd or steph.  when he goes off (usually only once or twice per series), people fawn all over him.

don't get me wrong, he's a great player.  but he gets next to 0 scrutiny when he doesn't play well. it's a very nice roll he has carved out for himself.

Well he did shoot 49% from 3 in the series.....

That's utter stupidity.  The Warriors were down 11 at half and outscored the Rockets by 18 in the 3rd quarter to get up 7.  Klay scored 0 points and was 0-2 from the field and was glued to the bench for the last 7.5 minutes because he was committing silly fouls.  He literally contributed nothing to last night's comeback and that's okay.  He was incredible in game 6 but Klay's big balls were icing on the bench last night during the biggest minutes of the game....

In games 2, 3, and 4 (2 losses and a win for the Warriors), Klay scored 31 points.... total.  Was 13-38 from the field, had as many fouls as assists and almost as many turnovers as assists.  Dude is crazy unstoppable when he's feeling it and I'm sure the Warriors feel incredibly lucky to have him but he disappears..... a lot.

You don't even want to see the stats from the 2016 Finals..... when they needed him to be big and they lost.  JFC.  It's like some of you have never watched basketball before.

Wow, nvm then. He hit a couple of momentum 3s and played good D as always. Guess he was better in game 6.

The fact that you’re posting this just hours after Klay was on the bench with foul trouble while KD + Steph essentially won another ring for GS by leading he comeback is doubly dumbfounding.

You're kidding, right? Kerr playing Thompson despite the 3 early fouls is what turned the game around.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Whenever GS is down 10-15 and things are looking shitty it's always Klay who seems to step up. He's their best perimeter defender too. Must be nice for KD and Steph to literally be able to disappear for entire halves of games and come out smelling like a rose because they hit a few shots when the tide had already been turned in their favor by Klay's big balls shooting.

Who took over the game last night, same as he did last year’s Finals? When everything has been in the line the last two years and the two best teams in the league have been squaring off for the title (because that’s what last night was, NBA Finals game 7) who by far was the best player on the court? Who shine brightest? Who won what is now going to be back to back titles for his team? KD. Period. You still have to show up and actually make the plays, and actually hit the shots; KD did it, twice in a row now.

Klay Thompson is the ballsiest guy on that team. I swear he does all the heavy lifting and hits all the big shots and then KD and Steph sort of just pile on.

    I do?

I mean, let's just think about this for a second. One country has strict gun laws and minimal manufacturing, the other has the loosest gun laws of any first world country and is a big manufacturer of firearms. Which way do you think the weapons flow?

SHouldn't those complaining about the refs screwing HOU also be complaining that the refs pretty much sealed the game with that "inadvertent whistle"" when it was pretty clearly a travel on Harden late in gm 5?   Or is it only an issue when it goes against HOU?

Yeah this hasn't been a great series for the refs either way. A lot of instances where a guy will get mugged driving to the basket and not get a call, then on the other end an offensive player will pretty much bulldoze his way into a defender and the defender will get called for a foul. Also a lot of BS foul calls on 3 point shots.

Australia is an island and doesn’t have a pourous border with a country run by a criminal organization. In other words, good luck.

That argument is absolute nonsense and you know it.

Houston's window is very small and dead this year due to CP3, hope not, but reality is hard. I feel sorry for the young fans in HTOwn, i remember being heartbroken in 1980 with the Astros and 1981 with the Rockets. It's crushing at a young age really. Since the window is so short for old CP3 and others on the team, i'd pull the trigger on a Lebron for Harden deal. How do you guys feel about that? I think CLE would take it since Harden is so much younger but they would want picks and we would want to unload RA. I think it  can be done. Would Morey pull the trigger?

I say this as someone who absolutely loves lebron, and a spurs fan and not really big on the Rockets, but that would be pretty dumb of Houston. If you can lure him there it's one thing, but don't give up Harden.

  11. So I had a round for the ages yesterday. Played out at blackhawk in Pville, it's near the house. 9 birdies on the card and I shot 70. Doubled 9(which is a really hard par 4) to shoot 1-under on the front, then doubled 18(which I was so mad at myself for; it's an easy fuckin hole) to shoot 1-under on the back.

This one stung a bit because I've been playing the best golf of my life lately and I have yet to break 70 in my life. I guess I'll do it when I'm ready.

This is true. It's been my experience though that it WILL hide in the bushes and wait for the day when you come out of the front door grumbling and then say "Hey little buddy! How about we have a chat, for old times sake!". ;) Cunning, baffling and powerful.

The dreams are the worst. The ones where you're drinking and you know you shouldn't be and you have all this regret and sadness over it. Then you wake up and realize it was all a dream and wonder why your stupid mind couldn't just dream about anything else. This stuff just never leaves you.

  13. Chuck said it on the postgame, and I agree, Dantoni having such a short rotation might be the downfall for the Rockets. The Warriors played a lot of bench guys tonight, CP3 got hurt, I wouldn't be surprised to see State run Houston out of the gym on Saturday and ultimately outlast them to win the series.

  14. Good thread. I've been off the booze since Feb 3. My drinking led me to an incident that scared the absolute shit out of me. I realized that the drinking has either caused or made me unable to deal with a lot of problems in my life and I'd like to give it up for good. I recently started going to AA and it's been a positive experience. I haven't done the getting a chip bit because I've smoked pot since then and I don't feel like it would be an honest thing to do.

Anyway, the part about keeping it simple and taking it a day at a time really resonates with me. I play a lot of golf and it applies there too. And ever since I've been dry I've been a lot better at controlling myself on the course. Mistakes are made but the biggest regret you can have is not doing every single thing in your power to make sure that the next shot is a good one.

I've also noticed that the amount of alcohol consumed by some of my golf buddies is pretty crazy. I was the same way. I don't say anything though, I just want myself dry and if they have any questions I at least have some resources for them.
