In Port A till Wednesday. Will be heading to the beach today. See if I can squeeze the golf cart in
-
Staying in Port A. I might bring a bike and drop everything off, then drive back to rental and bike back to beach. Looks like it would be about a mile ride or so.
I’m in the same boat as you. Going down on the 7th for a long weekend. I was planning to take the fold up wagon and load that thing up and make a spot, then drop off the family and find some place to park. I was hoping they would at least allow golf carts but that didn’t happen. -
Well shit faction is closed Monday and Tuesday. Next time I’ll visit.

Well since you asked (& as an excuse for me to go back and look through my pictures, especially as these preseason games are kinda boring me)....
Most importantly with a car, make it a point to get over across the bay to Faction in Alameda but make sure it be there at sunset. A very cool brewery housed in an old naval base.
With an amazing view of downtown SF on the other side of the bay:
Also, FYI - Almanac is right there close by as well.
You can also go over to the Drake’s Dealership outdoor/indoor tapyard/taproom in Oakland. Liked the food there too.
Which is also pretty cool at night:
I’d also highly recommend Fieldwork in Berkley (especially during the day as you can drive around and check out the campus)
And I don’t recall exactly how close but I believe pretty close by is Rare Barrel if you love badass sours.
There’s so much good beer all around there...
I’ve been to a few in Berkeley area. Went to temescal, fieldwork and rare barrel on my last visit for the Cal game. That was an adventure.
Guess I’ll need to make sure to go faction and almanac. Thanks for the recs! -
So looks like I will have a car after all while in SF. Getting in Monday early and then leaving late Wednesday. Have most afternoons free. Other than my initial plan of cellarmaker, zeitgeist, city beer store and toronado anything else I need to drive to? Figured I would Uber or walk since I’ll be in the union square area.
-
Will you have a vehicle? You’ve named great places I’d go to in the area. There are also some across the bay I would recommend if you’ll have the means/desire to venture out (but I’m too lazy to lost now if not applicable to your trip).
Nope just walking or Uber for me. I’ve been to a few places in Oakland a while back. My days will be busy with work so mainly have evenings to venture out. Monday is my free day. -
Going to San Francisco for 3 days in a couple of weeks. Staying near union square. Will hit up cellarmaker, zeitgeist and toronado. Any must go to breweries or bars ?

Well, we will never have a chance to see what happens. Thanks Delta. ABIA TSA had a nice lunch I bet.
What was their reason? I’ve carried on food before but maybe they made an excuse when they saw what it was? -
It may be time to reseason the whole thing. Depends on usage but about once a year its time to strip it down to the shiny griddle and season it all over again.
I may have to do the same thing. Mine is a bit off on parts as well. Any suggestions on starting over?- 1

Half Door Brewing in San Diego about 1 block north of centerfield. Top shelf IPAs. House of Hops is one of my favorite IPAs anywhere.
I concur. I was pleasantly surprised in a good way at half door.

Got some rare breed for the weekend. Have a good lineup with RY10, legent, and rare breed.

Their fuckin branding draws my attention every time in the store. This is a pretty damn good lager. I just crushed 3 after mowing the lawn. America!
Yeah they got me also. ‘Merica! -
Yup they were. Tri tip was tasty. Kids ate most of it though.

Little Italy. Italian Pilsner. I don’t know what makes it that, but this is fucking delicious.
Think it just means a dry hopped Pilsner. A few breweries in Austin have their version- 1

Good stuff as usual.

Leroy&Lewis going to be cooking at interstellar bbq today. Good chance to try their beef cheeks and barbacados.

Haven’t seen ER on shelves at twin. Or at least the ones at four points and cedar park.
Finally got a bottle of RY10 and picked up a bottle of legent to go with it. Will be trying them over the holiday weekend. Have other bottles and beers to get to first. -
If you're going to Live Oak might as well check out St. Elmo and Hi Sign.
St Elmo isn’t that close to live oak. But if you are going to st Elmo go to skull mechanix. Southern heights and might as well do oddwood. -
Been on the site for 15 years. Best modification was a $10 headlight buzzer that goes between two fuses and lets me know when I've left the headlights on - so many dead batteries before.
Haven’t done that one. Sounds handy. Did the headlight relay and HEI mod. Also upgraded the wiring since it was looking all pieced together with electrical tape. Found the horn the PO added was causing a battery drain and in one incident killed my fusible link. Luckily it was only that and not anything else that needed replacing. -
Not sure if you're still in the market, but this is a great site for Chevy and GMC.
Yeah that site has helped me fix stuff on my 72 1500. And get ideas for mods. -
Been on the lookout for old Ezra. Still can’t find a bottle.

Depending on how nice they want their hotel, the Waldorf (right next to Aria) might be a good choice. I stayed there when it was the Mandarin and it's a great hotel. No casino in the hotel so it's much more laid back.
Thanks for suggestions. I’ll see which way they want to go. Really need to prod to see what they prefer in terms of rooms. My guess is they just want something simple and not too pricey. -
Park MGM came up due to the price per night. Wasn’t too sure about it cause of some reviews but will need to look into it a bit more.
My initial suggestion was going to be Aria for us and they can stay at the Park since they are next to one another.

Was not real packed today from about 11-3 today. Quite a few vehicles did get stuck trying to drive through and park.
