Going to Disneyland next week. Going to the park for 2 days and may go for a half day in case there are other things we want to do again. Taking my 5yo for the first time. Suggestions on stuff to do in the area?

Thanks all. I’ll check on some of these in case we may need a reservation on a Friday or Saturday. Now to get a list of places to get some good beers or cocktails.

I agree franklin is about the experience of tailgating and then enjoying delicious bbq after about 3hrs of waiting. I try to do this at least once a year since it is fun to do.
If I want good bbq I just go to kerlin. -
Nice work them. Guess I’ll need to find an open heb to get a rack to smoke this weekend

To make a rebuttal on bottlecap thinking hops n grain leaving
Hops & Grain update:
Just to clear up any rumors that anyone has, Hops & Grain Brewing is not shutting down Austin operations. Earlier this year we had an opportunity to purchase a property that we've been leasing in east Austin for the past year, just a few miles east of our current location. The space is awesome, has around 4 acres of land and plenty of warehouse space. We have made no final decisions, just merely entertaining all options. We're incredibly excited about our expanded production capacity with our new San Marcos brewery and look forward to cranking up our R&D projects in Austin. -
If pricey is ok/no kids, I highly recommend Fiola and/or Kinship.
Yup no kids and looking to have a nice meal or two while we are out there. -
Damn that scalping won. Hurt on both ends. Was hotter than last year.

Not bad for a distributed milkshake

Picked up BT and OF 1920 as well. Didn’t need a re up on stuff but may go back and get some more.

In no particular order, I like to eat at Mirabelle, Equinox, CityZen and 1789 in Georgetown for upper end. PJ Clarkes for cheesburgers. Old Glory was a great burger spot but has gone out of business sadly.
I like to drink at Quill at the Jefferson or the St. Regis bar, but I am rarely out without at least a sports jacket on and drink martinis so take my opinion for what it's worth. BatesHorn told me I was one of the olds and unhip. Lots of quality drinking establishments in your immediate vicinity though.
Thanks taparep

Went on a Sunday for lunch and it was surprisingly dead. Walked right in. Maybe it was just an off time but it was at 11:30a.

Which location is good to hit up during dollar days besides Hancock ? -
How do you keep one of these things from rusting in Texas if you store it outdoors?
I finally was able to get the hard cover lid and that should be more than enough to keep it from rusting over. I had the cover but when it rained it was useless. The hard lid should solve that. -
The Willard is right there, solid 4*. The W is next door if you want a little hipper.
Willard booked for sept 21-24. Now to work on a list of places to drink and eat.- 1

Collabs never really meet my unreasonable expectations, but I'm really excited about this one
Launch on draft is this friday at Zilker
Tall boy cans soon. Just in time for FB season.
Oooh didn’t know it was getting canned. Looking forward to trying it -
Creeper was tamer than the bottle rocket from both ends.
Ready for the pig next. -

Nailed It! is a funny family show... good for 20 mins of cheap laughs
My kid likes to watch it. Already has it memorized. Works to keep her occupied for a while.

Guess I need to make my way through CW and Rebels. Started watching CW but got bored with some of the fillers so will need to look the list of what to watch and what can be skipped.
Hopefully this latest one turns out good. Enjoyed watching robotech style anime.

Yup smithsonian would be on the list of places to see.
We typically do a 4star at the least. -
Adding this as a potential place to go in late September. Never been to DC and trying to visit a place we haven’t been to for our anniversary.
Recs on where to stay near majority of the monuments and museums? -
Dude, I love spicy food. I can handle a ton of spice. Love the Amazing Green Beans at Sap’s...but damn, that bottle rocket taco lit me up. Don’t think I would have enjoyed eating two.
Yup this one is putting a hurting on me more than usual. Gotta complete the challenge and do all 4 but I know I’ll end up paying for it. -
Did not notice they were doing flexpass. Looks like a good way to get a group out to watch a game.

Yup we have a car for the first day so we’re going to roam around the area.
Thanks for recs. Any last minute tips? We have most things booked and have a general idea of what stuff to do. Especially with some areas closed due to remodeling during the week.
