I think if we meet them in the Conference Championship Game they will be emotional wrecks.

I don't see it. If they had edged us out by a field goal after we mounted an epic comeback, then we fired our hypothetical terrible DC and made it all the way to the CCG, I'd be thrilled to get another shot at them.

As bullish as I am on this team after 5 in a row and a win over OU, I can still see us losing in Stillwater and/or Lubbock.

I will be disappointed but not very surprised to see us lose basically any game left on the schedule outside of Kansas. I'm not convinced we've broken the habit of playing to our competition, and as happy as I am with what I see at the moment, Tom Herman has some history of dropping random games. In 2015 he went 13-1 culminating in a defeat of FSU at the Peach Bowl, but the loss was to UConn. In 2016 he started out with a win over an OU team that would finish #5 even with that loss. Then he got clobbered by friggin SMU. SMU!!

Mind you, if we lose two more games in the regular season and win a bowl game, that's still our best season since Colt and an obvious huge step forward from where we've been. 10 wins! Can you even imagine?

I feel like every year, around this time, we expect multiple undefeated teams entering championship weekend. It usually doesn’t happen. Teams will slip up. I’d be shocked if we go into the championship games with an undeafted Alabama, UGA, OSU, Clemson, and Notre Dame. I can’t predict their losses, but I don’t think the top 5 will hold form for 6 weeks straight.

Yeah but imagine somehow tOSU, Clemson, Colorado, WVU, Georgia and ND all finish undefeated with Bama taking their one loss in the SECCG. I think that might be tipping point that destroys any semblance of legitimacy to the playoff champion and gets us a playoff expansion, much in the way the LSU-Bama rematch killed the BCS. Bonus chaos points if one or more of the left-out undefeated teams dominates in their NY6 bowl and claims a championship.

Well, we’re not in the SEC, OU isn’t in the SEC, and the SEC championship game is played in Atlanta

OMG I'm an idiot. B12CG. But point stands, finishing a 13-1 season with back-to-back wins over OU and aggy would be fucking epic.

  5. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I think there's still a theoretical possibility of Texas beating OU in Dallas again in the SECCG and then beating aggy in the Sugar Bowl. It won't happen though, which might be for the best because I would probably die laughing.

And is it me or did we steal a song thing from LSU/Florida? I swear I’ve heard one of things we play as the exact song one of them play too.

Yeah we've been playing "Neck" for a while now. But pretty sure LSU has banned it because the student section liked to participate.

No. Get rid of numbers on the shoulders and put them above the Longhorn on the helmet.

Gives each player some individuality a la Bama without cluttering the jersey

    Oh my god fuck no

Texas is probably the team most would list as the third best in the B12 right now and we didn't just lose to Maryland, we lost a season opening revenge game with weeks to prepare. A game where we trailed essentially the whole time and where everyone watching knew damn well what the outcome was going to be even as Texas mounted a comeback. The same Maryland that has no coach, hates their own staff and is under investigation. The same Maryland that got smoked by Temple. Maryland is not good but they handled us, ostensibly the third best team in the conference.

We also struggled mightily and just generally looked horrible in a very ugly win against TULSA.  If they hadn't missed three easy field goals we very well could've lost. That was like two whole weeks ago. Since then we beat a very bad USC team and a probably good but not great TCU team. We looked a lot better in those games and things appear to be trending the right direction, but I'm pumping the brakes and taking nothing for granted. Our floor is 3 wins, our ceiling is 11 wins, and each week that range of possibility will shrink in one direction or the other. That's all I can confidently say for now.

Even with the big caveat of nothing to choose from, the fact that they even mentioned the icy whites as bad is fucking criminal.

They didn't even say it was bad, they said it was the worst we had worn since 2000. That's what was promised, the worst uniform worn by each team. So yeah it was pretty much a choice between home, away, and I think 4 very slightly different alternates (1968 throwbacks, home and away with gold accents for those two OU games, and the ones with "DKR" on the logos).

     Suck it

I personally would have gone with the 1968 throwbacks from 2015 that had the "100" footballs on the helmets (yes I know why we did it and the history but standing on its own it just objectively looks bad). And I wouldn't have been surprised if the article had gone with the gold-accented ones from I want to say the 2013 OU game, although I actually thought those were fine.
