If we lose the majority of our remaining schedule it will not bother me if it helps in getting rid of David Pierce.
It will bother me. A lot.
And I still want him gone.

If she wants to rush, then Hardin House and SRD. Callaway House is also popular.
HH and SRD fill up quickly. Have your act together when the contracts come out and get them back asap.

The picnic tables in the weird park across the street from Paul Revere's house make for a nice spot to enjoy the after-dinner cannoli from Mike's Pastry.

Why wouldn’t/couldn’t they do the same for her?
It would have been the best approach. Here' my theory about why they didn't: Charles is widely considered to be a transitional king, but Will and Kate are the future. Charles's diagnosis, while concerning, wasn't all that surprising for a man his age. OTOH, Kate's is troubling given her age, and it threatens the RF's image of vitality and stability. Combine that with their desire to protect their kids and William's well-known distrust of the press and obsession with privacy, and you've got a PR disaster that writes itself.
And I hope I'm wrong about this, but I wonder if her condition is more serious, and that's what set off the panic-induced series of lies.
At least they were smart enough to not share the news with the Duke and Duchess of Montecito ahead of time. No way they would have had the restraint to STFU until the video was released.

Btw, I'm not questioning whether she actually has cancer. Lying about that would be the lowest thing possible. I just find their ever-changing stories questionable.

So according to the Palaces, both Kate and Chuck enter the same hospital for scheduled procedures a day or two apart, and both emerge with incidental findings of cancer. Really? I guess it's possible, but because Kensington Palace has 100% fucked up the entire PR management for Kate, I call bullshit.
I completely get the desire to manage public knowledge of a cancer diagnosis, particularly with three young children. But then why the lies? Why say it was "non-cancerous" so quickly? Why put out stories in the last 48 hours about how Kate is making school runs, runs errands around town, and plans to make a big splash return to public duties on Easter Sunday walking to church with the rest of the family.
They need to fire their entire PR team.
And I agree with @Nicole44 that there's likely more going on with William pissed off at Chuck and Camilla.

From the Daily Beast:
When the palace announced Kate’s abdominal surgery in January, it added that she hoped her personal medical information would remain private. One friend told the Times, “It’s not that they (Kate and William) didn’t think there would be lots of speculation and interest, but they had confidence that people would give them the space they asked for, which they did for about a month.”
It's amusing to me that they are so out of touch to think that the tabloids would just be totally cool with no real explanation about why the biggest star of the family would be out of commission for months on end. They're now in total victim mode as if these things have just happened to them.
And this:
friends say what William has “found especially challenging in recent weeks…is the feeling that the couple’s bubble is coming under threat, and that his wife is experiencing some of what his mother went through.”
Please. Willy is now trying to deflect from the stories about his pegging partner and what an entitled prick he is behind the scenes.

No, it makes you a lot fucking better than someone who supports Trump.
I'm talking about the people who don't like him but still vote for him because he has an R next to his name.
The opposite, but equally dumb are the people who say, "Garza is doing a shit job, but I'm still voting for him because fuck this Red money supporting his opponent."

That's good. He was targeted hard by the Red money in hopes to unseat him.
I voted against Garza, and I'm no Republican. Yes, "Red" money targeted him, but voting for Garza just because Rs opposed him makes you no better than the Rs who continue to support Trump simply because he's on their same team.

Did you watch any of the former Assistant Attorney General testimony at the Paxton impeachment trial? There’s a line of ultra-right wing fundamentalist assbags who would gladly take a job at that office.
This. He's found a group of lawyers as cynical and power hungry as he is, and they are going on a rampage. They've got their greatest hits list of issues -- abortion, elections, immigration, etc. -- and they're going to sue anyone and anywhere that will get them in the news as the true defenders of whatever the fuck they think the MAGA crowd is up in arms about. We know (and he knows) that the actual facts don't matter as long as he gets to flex on some Facebook "news" outlet.
Fuck him. Fuck these lawyers signing on to these lawsuits. And fuck the people giving this dickhead felon a pass for all of this bullshit.

I just posted in the Abbott thread about how bad these tv hosts are at interviewing. Welker is bad, but she's not alone in letting the guests say whatever the fuck they want with zero threat of being called out.

I wish the media were better at interviewing. She should have followed up by asking what the fuck difference does the number make, and why won't he answer the question.
And it never ceases to amaze how bad he is at talking. Such an insincere and dumb man.

I love this movie, and this is my favorite scene. Olympia Dukakis and John Mahoney were perfection.

also the way the stoplights are programmed in this city is fucking stupid. sunday morning stoplights shouldn't run the same exact way as Tuesday 4pm stoplights. stoplights at road closures for construction should be turned off or blinking. hell, we need more blinking red and yellows at night and on Sunday mornings.
I don't think they really give a shit about smart traffic flow. How else are they going to convince people that mass transit is the solution to their traffic woes? Meanwhile, we have City Council members talking a big game about initiatives (read: spending money) to help combat climate change. How about all the cars sitting through multiple light cycles trying to make a fucking left turn to get to work because some dipshit timed the light to let exactly four cars through during rush hour?
1 hour ago, South Austin said:And the city made it worse by closing a dedicated right turn lane on eastbound North Loop at this intersection for it’s “mobility” bullshit.
We'll be reminded that improved sidewalks and bike lanes are what passed in the mobility bond. I'm not sure it would have gotten the same support if people understood the trade off of constricting traffic flow to get those improvements.

Pos rep for the Red Lobster Biscuit mix instead of Bisquick for the sausage balls.
The kids want chili dogs, so I'll make the chili, and we'll have guac, queso, and pico. It's just the four of us, and I want everything to be ready and self-serve.

Who are these people and when do they show up?
I can't speak for others, but I answer surveys about planned projects, show up to planning meetings (though not full blown council meetings -- talk about a magnet for the best and worst), and send feedback to the city departments and my councilwoman. Do you know how many times a plan has been modified or even slowed down for more review based on neighborhood feedback? Zero. Guess how many times I've even gotten a response to very neighborhood specific concerns I've shared? Zero.
As has been discussed on this thread previously, it feels like the city hires consultants who are here for about 10 minutes, then they look at a street map and say, "here's how we're going to improve!" If people who actually live in the area have a different opinion, we're labeled NIMBYs or obstructionists or worse.
I agree with you that we've missed the best window to really improve, and I bet we agree on a lot more. The city can't make everyone happy. I get that. I just wish that someone would listen to our very local perspectives and input before finalizing a plan and then complaining that we don't appreciate the effort.

My rising 9th graders counselors keep telling everyone (kids and parents) not to take "advanced" (pre-AP basically) everything. Take one or two classes with the norms, is how I interpret that. Does anyone listen? Like, she has expressed no real interest in engineering or sciences, but then again she is 14. Maybe she'll suddenly want to go med school and want lots of rigorous high school science.
So: did yall's UT bound kids take pretty much AP/IB everything?
Yes. But I know of several kids who did not take AP classes or advanced math and got into Education and Communications majors.
