    You are just wrong.

How so? So you're saying that if the fielder is standing on the foul line and the ball comes down say a foot out of bounds, but the fielder blows the catch and the ball drops into fair territory, that that is considered a foul ball. I don't know the rule, but I think I'm right. In that instance, it becomes a fair ball.

Most guys show a completed catch coming out of the stands because an umpire can’t see. I don’t think he really ever had control of it.

Yeah. He decided to go with it and act like it was intentional. Hard to tell though because he was swinging his arms in victory. We got lucky.

    Whah?

He touched the ball in foul territory - he did not catch it, and it dropped into fair territory. I've never heard of any kind of distance rule that said the ball has to be a certain distance from the foul line before such a "deflection" would count.

That’s Greenspoint, pretty much his thing.

The blues absolutely nailed that call on the foul ball though.

Did they? If an outfielder touches a ball in the air in foul territory, and causes it to drop into fair territory, isn't it considered a fair ball?

If so, we caught a break. They could have scored two runs on that "single" Hook 'em.

Do we really blame Profar there? Isn’t that more on Tocci or the first base coach for trying to reach 2nd in the first place?

You don't see it happen very often, but I'll bet the coaches have it figured out now. Realistically, you just plain don't try for second base on that. Assuming two fast runners, there's no guarantee that the guy on third gets home before the runner is tagged out at second (or that the refs will call it correctly). The game is on the line, so yep, it's one of those two. Nevertheless, Profar shouldn't have been fucking around, IMHO. Take care of business.

  6. Fucking amateur hour. Chirinos can't lay down a bunt. Profar jogs halfway home before realizing the stupid bastard on first was about to lose the game for us. That said, they did enough right tonight to win. Horns and Rangers.

If you are a fan of the putrid, Odor is still there for you!

I believe that he was one of the culprits who went 0 for 3 with the bases loaded in the 7th or 8th last night, but he made a pretty good defensive play or two late on hard hit balls. His pop-ups and strike outs piss me off, but he seems to be making better contact the last ten days or so. Banny is leaving him in.

He was the set up man for Choo in the top of the 10th with absolute gems @Goo Punch for out #'s 2 and 3 today

I'm not complaining. I was responding to Flagship, who said Profar wasn't good enough to play SS.

  9. Guzman's showing signs of becoming a force. Don't see any reason to play Rua at first unless it is to give Guzman a rest. Rua vs. Gallo in left field? Gallo has a slight edge. Some of Rua's swings make me wonder if he needs glasses.

Still don't think Kela is a long term solution at Closer, but maybe with some more confidence/experience.

Profar's defense is pretty good, but he's got to get control of his throws. Seems it was an injury to his right shoulder or right arm that took him out of the lineup for a year or so. The strength is back, but the accuracy is a problem.

Odor is on the fence. He's making better contact. We'll see where he stands in a couple of weeks. Kindof Falafel is at .263. Odor .193. Big difference.

  10. Guzman and Profar are coming on strong. Mazara has turned into a force. When Andrus returns, Banister may have a decision to make at 2B (Profar or Odor). Profar could play several positions, of course. Regardless, it looks like they're going to have to keep him in the lineup.

  11. Fucking Leclerc was born to lose. He gets a fucking dribbler, takes a lazy windup, much as you might see had the ball been hit sharply to him, realizes it's a close play and, although a normal throw STILL would have sufficed, he slings a fucking slider at 95mph that coulda killed the runner  had it hit him in the head. Born to fucking lose mentality.

He can't stand to get ahead in the count. He sets himself and the team up to lose. His head's not in the game.

Odor needs to sit for a week.

  12. If Odor can't get his head in the game, he needs to head back down to the minors . Was it Saturday, with the bases loaded, that he swung at a 3-2 pitch in the dirt? Kiner is batting .245. Odor .195

Too many dead spots in the lineup. Gallo sucking wind. Rua getting some wood on the ball, but nothing to show for it. Get Elvis back and move Profar to LF or 3rd base.
