It feels like last year we got some kids who can contribute immediately on the OL.  This year we're going to take kids who are going to be buns we put in the oven, set their expectations accordingly, set them up with NIL money,  let them bake for 3-4 years,  and see which of them turn into loaves of beautiful bread.

TLDR: Flood knows what he's doing.

So they’ll be bread even after we develop them?

Hell all Manning need do is win.  No amount of manager "brand building" on instagram can add up to the brand building of getting Texas "back."  There will be a tsunami of positive publicity, and an indelible brand will be built.  All it takes is winning.  Typing shit on insta, is just some sort of foreplay.

I thought Ewers is supposed to do this

It's insane. I'm sure Johnson technically played some garbage snaps here and there, but for all intents and purposes, 3 of the top 5 recruits from that class never even stepped on the field for us.

Who would you even say is the "best" player from that class? I'd say the top 3 are Whittington (great talent, always injured), RoJo (great Longhorn and team leader, but essentially just a backup RB), or Sweat (a competent P5 DT and not much more). If that's the top 3 guys you get from a 26-man class, you're gonna have a bad time.

RoJo good, can't fault him for behind Bijan, so that backup tag is a little misleading. He's averaged 5.3, 5.2, 5.9 ypc in his first three years

Disagree completely. Guys like Jaydon Chatman, Deldrick Mason, and Jaden Platt are barely in the top 50. The class has plenty of talent in state - the bigger issue is that most of the top talent isn’t that interested in Texas right now. That’s the impact of the 1-6 finish.

You can look at it as a 1-6 finish if you want but it was also a 1-0 finish which was huge for momentum in December. Absolutely huge. Hard to overstate.

Resulted in a few big time flips and great portal success.
