  1. Can we get Herman back with Sark in the booth and Patterson as DC?

I think it's likely we end up getting Coach Bro when the Cardinals dump him a few years from now.

    Kliff Kingsbury

Who after 3 full seasons with (at the time of his hiring) the worst team in the NFL is now 24-24-1 in the regular season. He's been surprisingly solid, especially compared to guys like Urban, Spurrier, Holtz and Petrino.

Cardinals actually just gave him a 5 year extension.

He was gifted a top notch staff that somebody else assembled and doesn’t have to do anything but come up with offensive game plans 24/7/365.  Not quite the same parameters as he operated under at Tech.

Yeah having Vance Joseph as head coach of the defense has been huge for Kliff. But still, going from worst in the NFL to a 9-2 start in year 3 is crazy. He's also been able to adjust his gameplans enough to go 2-1 with Colt as QB while missing Hopkins and various OL.

I would ask the same of your tiresome ass. I played in a HS program that changed coaches and systems and we sucked even more than we would have with what little talent we had because every coaching change instantly renders every player out of position. "Oh, you think you know how to play linebacker, don't ya? Well you don't. Here's how you play linebacker." And so on at every position.

And in college sports every coaching change brings in another transition class of recruits. Meaning dozens of JAGs taking up schollies.

For fuck's sake, there are exactly two guys on this roster with obvious NFL talent. I think some is hidden -- Alfred Collins, for example. He was recruited to play one position and now he is wasted in PK's D taking up blockers when he should be caving in the edge in a four man front.

And it's not just that our talent is kinda subpar. It's way, way subpar. See Luke Brockemeyer trying to set the edge on that 70 yard sweep. He diagnosed the play correctly and did his best but he's a linebacker who maaaayyyybeeee runs a 4.9. I felt sorry for him there -- he hustled all the way down the field hopelessly swiping at that dude's jersey, but he is just too slow. Dusty Renfro II, Electric Fuck You for thinking it's the coaches.

We've got your dropped passes -- more on the WRs than the QBs -- on wide open routes schemed by the fucking coaches. We've got an LT incapable of handling a 220-pound edge guy, and nobody better behind him. We've got hippie Blake Gideon out there dropping game-sealing picks. The roster is a shitshow.

And you know what? Barring some kind of portal miracle, next year it's going to be worse. And because "We're TEXAS" Sark will probably be fired, and we will have another transition class, WHILE HEADING INTO THE SEC, and if you think the mockery of your friends and co-workers now is bad, just wait until we go 2-8 in conference or some shit. Don't worry though, your enemies will lose interest after two or three years, maybe even start to pity you.

And then I go and look at the resume of Lance Leipold. It's impressive. He dominated the shit out of everything at Wisconsin-Whitewater. Buffalo took a chance on him and his first season was mediocre. His second season was fucking horrific. 2-10. He needed both of those years to demonstrate how his system worked, and after that shit steadily improved until he got a chance at shitty p5 school, one that has now scared the beejesus out of one blueblood and defeated another.

We would never hire a guy like him, and if we did, we would not tolerate a 2-10 season. We live in this bubble where we think we are entitled to greatness. We are not. We have to earn it like everyone else, and the flighty pussiness of some of y'all is embarrassing to me as a Texan and a man. I know Greenspoint gets a lot of shit for panicking early in ballgames and its justifiable. But you hysterical bitches are just as bad, if not worse, for wanting to pull the plug on coaching regimes before they can even begin to implement what needs to be done here.

I dont think anyone was expecting greatness year 1 and yes coaching changes do make things worse. But we fired our last coach only to hire a guy who is a proven downgrade and it shows. Even Strong's year 1 team had more fight than this and both Card/Thompson are LEAGUES better than Swoopes.

Lets remember what got Herman ultimately fired was players on the team telling recruits NOT to come here.  He wasn't going to have a better year coaching the team.

I'm starting to think that the players who were telling recruits NOT to come here, came to Texas so they could party in Austin and they were pissed off that Herman was actually making them work. Hell, that's actually pretty much what the $9.95's were saying in the weeks before we fired Herman. It was something along the lines of "Herman has these guys working harder than at OU without having OU results. It's causing discontent". I'm sure glad the Big Money Pricks listened to these players! How are these disgruntled players performing with a players coach? 5 straight losses with multiple blow outs and Kansas's first conference road win in over a decade.

At least with Herman I could look forward to us blowing the fucking out of our bowl opponent. We aren't making a bowl game this year and if we some how do, I expect us to lose by 3 touchdowns.

It’s amusing that you made your posting handle to mock Tom Herman, and now you embrace it.

I agree we likely beat the brakes off of Kansas, but it’s hardly a lock. Call it 75% chance we win.

KS and WVU are 50/50 games. I have no confidence we can defeat either.

More than ever right now, I agree with Herman. Winning is hard.

Show your work. What on earth makes you think this guy could take these scrubs into one of college football's most hostile environments -- I don't give a shit about capacity: you saw and heard that horde of screaming hillbillies --  and come out with a win?

Herman definitely wouldnt have gotten run off the field by Arky. In 4 years Herman only lost by more than 2 touchdowns once and that was in his first year to a TCU team that finished top 10 in the AP poll. Sark has already had it happen to him twice to very mediocre teams.

I will say that Sark hasnt gotten to Charlie Strong levels yet. In year 1 alone Strong lost by more than 2 touchdowns 5 times.

Um, it's hard to win when your players suck. That is not even football 101. That is some remedial-ass shit right there.

Dude we have a lot of the same players as last year and all of them except Bijan look worse under Sark. Casey Thompson's straight up looked BETTER than Sam when he came in during the second half of the bowl game last season. Now he looks like trash and I'm not even sure we make a bowl game this season. We fired Herman after a 3 loss season because we thought we should be blowing everyone out.  Now that Herman's gone, it's unfair to expect the new guy to not GET blown out every other game while having basically the same roster. Without COVID canceling cupcakes Herman would have gone 10-3 last year.

It was the same thing with Strong. Strong gets here and all a sudden the cupboard is empty and seemingly unfillable. No guys getting drafted, team getting blown out regularly etc.. Then Herman comes along and WOW we have a few standouts, and the team isnt getting run off the field anymore. We weren't lighting the world on fire but we could compete. Herman leaves and oh no! We suck again!

Could have seen Horn lasting until 15 before the Caleb Farley injury concerns. Wouldn't touch Farley with a 10 foot pole. Back injuries never get better.

Serious back injuries are the reason Gronk fell all the way to the Patriots in round 2. He was able to play 4 years before his next back injury and that one wasn't season ending. Farley's a risk for sure but I'd bet he'll have a long career in the league.

  10. I think any fan would tear their eyes out if their team traded up for a TE. But honestly Pitts is more of a WR than a TE and he seems like a Megatron type prospect. He could very well be the best skill player in the league for the next 8 years.

Of course what's the point in having great pass catchers if the QB is dead.
