Goddammit if they didn't have that fuckface midget as their QB, my NFL team for next season would be a no-brainer.

But pulling for a kid who fucked over Texas and the A's is a real bridge to cross...

If you pull for the Cards next year you can be happy both when your QB scrambles for a first on 3rd and long AND when he takes a rib crushing sack

I’d love to see your statistics proving this.

    https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-ranking-all-127-fbs-offensive-lines-through-cfb-week-13

Its not exactly stats but PFF ranked Texas 26/127 in OL play for last year and had them as 13th best in P5. That was why I made my original statement. I know PFF has the specific stats to show why they're ranked this way but you have to pay for them.

I looked for stats I could see and Football Outsiders does have some raw OL stats available for free but very few. One stat was included was our sack rate, ranking 65/127 which is mediocre. However sack rate isn't enough, the main stats I would be interested in is Average Time to Throw and pressures given up. I haven't found anyone giving those out for free.

My bad for claiming stats back up my statement, since I hadn't actually seen them. BUT given PFFs rankings I can reasonably assume that they do.

how shitty does Colorado have to feel

it is 17-10 to start the half, a backup QB that has about 5 snaps under his belt comes in......you end up getting the shit kicked out of you 55-23.....and the coach still gets fired from the winning team.......kicking the shit out of Colorado by by 32 points was just a nothing burger in terms of a coach keeping their job even with a back up QB playing half the game (and the starter clearly off his game for a big part of the first half

They probably feel bad Sam got hurt. If Sam plays the entire time that game is a 30-24 type affair that I'm not sure we win.

I hate bringing this up but I have to after seeing people here trash our OL. Sam had what was statistically one of the best OLs in CFB last year and somehow people think it was our OLs fault the offense sucked. People who watched the games saw Sam get plenty of time only to miss the wide open deep shots. Almost all of them. IDK if he had a bunch of injuries he never told anyone about but something was off with him this year. Tom Herman got fired because he was too chickenshit to bench the senior QB.

I trust the QB situation next season. They don't seem to be run first guys.

No player in recent history, in any sport, has done for the city where they played than JJ Watt. He deserves the very best, and I hope he is recognized as a Texan when Canton comes calling.

Meanwhile, I refuse to give the Texans a nickel until the front office is purged, so probably boycotting them for the rest of time.

Larry Fitzgerald and Phoenix have a similar relationship.

Dude it's not that bad, except I don't know what the heck hummus is.

I looked and saw no sugar, white flour, gluten, dairy or even fucking tomatoes. Meat choices are limited to lean meat like chicken or fish and all the normal sauces you would put on chicken to give it flavor are nixed by the exclusions. No milk or cheese. No pasta or bread. He also recommends a shit load of nuts and I can't stand nuts.

I guess I could survive off of mostly eggs, rice, protein shakes, veggies and chicken. But I need good ideas on how to season that chicken. Thats the main source of dread.

Wait, Tom Brady had plastic surgery done?

If he has its the most tasteful/subtle plastic surgery in existence.

People saying he plays 5 more years are crazy. I think he'll last until 45 at the latest. He's made remarks that he's really been feeling his age this season.

Personally, I could give two shits what Alabama fans think. There's other ways to evaluate a coordinator/defense than relying on other fanbases.

Can you make a coherent argument against Golding other than "Alabama fans think he's bad."

And I thought Orlando was very meh before we hired him.

We don't know that he's "bad". We just know that of all the DCs in Saban's tenure he is by far the worst and that Saban helps a lot with that side of the ball.

I can't believe I'm typing this but the Cardinals had one of the most talented rosters in the league and he only managed to go .500. I know NFC West was tough but they should have done better. Cardinals were loaded this year.

If Kliffy goes 8-8 next year his ass is fired.

Cardinals have Hopkins and Murray that's it. The next best skill player is Larry Fitzgerald's corpse. Their defense is full of JAGS. Their "Big" name on defense is a safety with 2 career interceptions. When Kliff took over 2 years ago they were considered the worst roster in the league. That roster is still mostly the same. 8-8 was a disappointment after a 5-2 start but it was in line with most talk heads predictions at the start of the year.

He's a great coach.  A fantastic coach.  But if he's left two of the top college head coaching jobs for health reasons that likely have some relation to stress, the NFL will eat him alive.

I honestly believe the NFL is less stressful than top college programs. You just have to make the playoffs once every 3 years to not get fired. Everyone's on basically on equal footing so the expectations are far less. In college you lose 1 game and fans/boosters lose their shit.

I mean that’s kinda the reason to start fresh. Especially with likely roster turnover coming anyway.  Rot being whatever negative shit is in the program causing negative recruiting.

You're right this will be good for recruiting.

The reality is there is no one on the current staff that isn’t replaceable, even though some are really great coaches. Yeah I get players and fans wanting certain guys to stay, but there are so many coaches out there, and some that will work with Sark better than others. Additionally some of the coaches may not even want to stay.

In many ways, the fresher the start the better as the rot in the program needs to be flushed.

What rot? In a normal year this is a 10-3 season. 3 offensive/defensive coordinators in 3 years is setting all our players up to fail.

OKAY I know we have to now... I just don't like the idea of throwing away a great coaching staff for a bunch of unknowns just because the guy at the top is an asshole.

  12. Can we retain some guys? Its really hard to imagine a staff that isn't a vast downgrade from Chris Ash/Yurcich. Both are elite. People are really rumoring us hiring Sumlin and Mike Stoops? Thompson and Bijan understand the offense and are good enough have this team setup for a conference run. The only thing that could have fucked it up was starting over after a 3 loss season.

  13. Its one game but there were 5 big passes tonight that Sam has never done in his entire career. Hitting WRs in stride on the deep ball and throwing WR open is what Casey did tonight. Jerrod Heard and Sam have never done that.

There are a lot of great coaches available, but are there dynamic characters who are great coaches available? It isn't just X's and O's. It's keeping 150 people organized and focused on a goal. That's tough. Same with recruiting.

I don't think that's Campbell. I think he's a great coach but he's no dynamic character and I think it will limit what he's able to do as hypothetical Texas HC.

I don't think that character exists this go round, save Urban. I thought it was Herman.
