  1. I know its hard for you to accept the truth. I guess dissenting opinions must be squelched because they don't align with your worldview. I don't threaten others who express their opinions, but its ok to malign people who see the world differently. I don't agree with Liberals and "progressives" but I don't think they should be attacked for their opinion, regardless of how stupid they may be.
  2. President Trump is doing a great job under the circumstances. He inherited a complete mess from Obama. Jobs are growing, unemployment is falling, taxes are less, federal revenue is up, we're keeping illegal aliens from entering the country, conservative judges are being nominated and approved at record speed, welfare rolls are dropping, our support of Israel is better and stronger, ISIS leaders are being hunted down and killed, drug dealers are being brought to justice, respect for the military and police is better, the second amendment is being protected, Christians are not being attacked as much, and the press hates him. What's there not to like? And, if he pulls off a deal with North Korea that lessens the risk of war, he'll get the Nobel Peace Prize. Well deserved I might add. If people like Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Maxine the idiot don't like him, that's a good thing.
  3. You have the tight to express your views, as I do. But, I must disagree with your statement that "Christianity has always been an oppressive religion." This remark is blatantly false. The anti-slavery movement began in England by Christians, and spread to the United States and other nations. William Wiberforce led the movement. He was a great Christian. John Newton was a slave trader. He became a Christian on board a ship carrying slaves, and completely changed his life. He wrote the great Hymn, "Amazing Grace." Many Christians lost their lives in the Civil War to end the practice of slavery. The early Christians were hunted down like dogs and killed. They didn't fight back against their enemies. All the disciples were martyred for their faith except John, who was boiled in oil and still lived to write the gospel of John. Millions of Christians were murdered for their faith in Europe in the Middle Ages. Many more are being killed today. Jesus Christ was the greatest liberator in history. He set the captives free from the penalty of sin and hell. There is an agenda that exists to attack Christianity, and to mislead people. For example, If you study the life of Robert E. Lee after the war ended, you will find out that he help integrate the first church in Virginia He saved Washington University from bankruptcy, and admitted students of all races who could not afford an education. He helped young men into the ministry, and helped to quell the resentment the South felt toward the North after the war. He was given a banquet in his honor in New York City because of his efforts to unite the nation. Later, he established the first schools of Commerce and Journalism in the United States. By the way, he freed his slaves before the war. He inherited them from his wife's estate. He was a hero in the Mexican War, the Superintendent of West Point, and the according to General Winfield Scott, the Supreme Military Commander before the war said, "Lee was the finest officer in the entire nation". Lee's father, Lighthorse Harry Lee, was the commander of the calvary during the Revolutionary War, and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Lee was an exemplary Christian., and to this day, is held in the highest esteem by people around the nation. But, people are like sheep. They jump to conclusions with little knowledge, and blaspheme God and Christians because they are ignorant of the truth.
  4. Everything is lining up just the way the Bible predicted thousands of years ago. The Bible said that Israel would eventually be rebuilt after their nation was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70. No other nation or people removed from their original homeland has ever been able to resurrect their nation after two generations except the Jewish people. God's covenant with Israel has never been broken by God. Even when they went astray and were punished by God for their disobedience, he did not forget them. In 1948, against all odds, their nation was restored that God had given to Abraham 4000 years ago. In another amazing turn of events predicted in the Bible, Jerusalem is now being recognized as the true capital. When Jesus returns to Earth to rule the world after the tribulation, He will rule the world from Jerusalem. In fact, as the Bible predicted in the last days, Israel and the Middle East would be the center of attention of the entire world, and Jerusalem would be the epicenter. 70 years ago, no one had their attention focused on Jerusalem like it is today. Perhaps if you searched the scriptures, you would discover that God's Word is being fulfilled as we speak. I expect the Ezekiel 38 war will commence now that Turkey, Iran, and Russia are aligning themselves for the first time in history. They will attack Israel and be destroyed.
  5. It doesn't matter whether you're intelligence is high or low. There are many Christians who are very bright and others who are less. Christianity is inclusive. It doesn't matter how rich or poor, how smart, who your parents are, how much you give away, or how often you go to church. Ignorance is another matter. To be ignorant of God's Word is dangerous. To ignore God or dismiss Him is a grave mistake. We all need God's love and forgiveness, even if we don't acknowledge it. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest love story in the history of mankind.
  6. The Old Testament was compiled and written hundreds of years before the New Testament. We have copies of the books of the Old Testament written 300 or more years before. I suppose you may think you're smarter than the average Christian, but many brilliant people have professed their faith in God and the Bible. Perhaps you should read "Penses" by Blaise Pascal, or the testimonies of Newton and many other great scientists. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God. Without Christianity, many of the world's orphanges, hospitals and universities would not exist. The printing press was invented by a Christian. Many books would have not been written, published and distributed.
  7. After I responded to a recent post about the reality of Hell, several of you were skeptical about the information I shared. Others of you challenged me to provide information from credible sources to verify my comments. Specifically, I challenge those of you who have questioned my comments to search the following websites to judge for yourself: 1. 351 Biblical Prophecies that have been validated as true. Google "bible prophecies fulfilled chart pdf" or go to www.newtestamentchristians.com/351-Old-Testament-Prophecies-Fufilled-in-Jesus Here you will find a list of prophecies that were made hundreds of years before they were fulfilled. 2. 101 scientific discoveries found in the Bible long before they were discovered by man. Go to www.eternal-productions.org/science.html 3. If you are really adventurous, you may wish to read what famous people have said about Jesus in the past. Go to starrynews.wordpress.com/2016/02/04/what-famous-people-had-to-say-about-jesus/ You'll discover some rather startling quotes by such people as H.G. Wells, Napoleon, Gandhi, Einstein, Tolstoy, Mozart, Dostoevsky, Goethe, Beethoven, Faraday, Theodore Roosevelt, Dickens, Pascal, Mel Gibson, van Gogh, and many others too numerous to mention. I'll leave you with these quotes by James Hefley and J. Sidlow Baxter: "Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the Child of a peasant woman. He worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty, and then for three years he was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never owned a home. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put his foot in a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but himself. He had nothing to do with this world except the power of his divine manhood. While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth while He was dying, and that was His cost. When He was dead, He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend. Such was His human life. He rises from the dead. More than nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the Centerpiece of the human race, and the leader of the column of progress. I am within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, and all the navies ever built, and all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that One Solitary Life." "Fundamentally, our Lord's message was Himself. He did not come to merely preach a Gospel. He himself is that Gospel. He did not come merely to give bread. He said, "I am the bread." He did not come to shed light; He said, "I am the light." He did not come to merely show the door, He said, "I am the door." He did not come to name a shepherd, He said "I am the shepherd. He did not come to merely point the way; He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
  8. Really, the great questions that all people have about life are, "Where did I come from?', "Why am I here", and "Where am I going after I die?" The Bible is the only book that can answer those questions because it is the Word of God, our creator. To know where you are going after you die is of immense importance to most people. We can trust God's word to tell us the truth without having to rely on our opinions. There has never been a book written like the Bible. Over 300 predictions have come true, and no other book in history has been able to predict future events like the Bible has for many centuries. Hundreds of thousands of scholars have studied the Bible and have not been able to discredit it. It is the most amazing book ever written.
  9. You are correct. Religion without Christ is a waste of time. It doesn't offer any assurance that your sins have been forgiven.
  10. Many of you have displayed some interest in knowing if hell exists, and whether you or others may go there when you die. Bear in mind, that Satan works overtime to convince people that He and hell doesn't exist. That is the furthest thing from the truth. Perhaps the following information from the Bible will help answer your questions: 1. Hell was not originally created for man. It was created for Satan and his angels or demons who rebelled against God in heaven and were cast out and sent to Earth. Hell will be their eternal place of torment in the future. 2. Because God made the world perfect in every way, He created man and woman in His image to enjoy His creation in perfect harmony with Himself. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God, and as a result, sin entered the world. Our human nature was then altered so we became aware of what sin was, and apart from God, we could not live a life free of sin. 3. Knowing this, God demanded that man to be forgiven by keeping the law. God kept His end of the agreement, but we did not keep our end. We disobeyed God, committed sins, and the sacrifices we offered were not enough as they had to be done on a continual basis. 4. Thankfully, God's love for us sinners was greater than we could ever imagine. He knew from the beginning that man could not live up to the laws that would provide salvation, so His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, was sent to pay for our sins on the cross. This sacrifice was done once and for all people, so God's wrath and justice were satisfied forever. And, this gift was offered to anyone willing to call on Him for salvation, to confess their sins, and to accept His gift of forgiveness. It couldn't be earned any other way. Good works without faith is not enough. And, Christ died while we were sinners. He didn't require us to get right with Him before we are saved. Once we are forgiven by our trust in Him, His Holy Spirit enters our lives to help us resist the power of sin so that we are no longer slaves to sin. We may fail at times, but He still forgives us and helps us to lead better lives in His power, and not our own. 5. Many of the greatest people who ever lived understood the gospel or good news of God, and became believers in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Most of the greatest scientists were Christians. Countless others from the richest to the poorest were believers. Every founder of the Ivy League colleges, except one, was a Christian. Bach, Beethoven and Mozart were Christians, as was Pascal, Newton, Babbage, Carver, Von Braun, and thousands of others you have read about. I leave you with a couple questions and thoughts. Why would God allow His only son to die a cruel death if there was another way for man to be forgiven of their sins? He tried every other way, and they didn't work. Christianity would collapse in a day if Christ had not risen from the dead. His resurrection proves that He was the Messiah, sent to die in our place for the forgiveness of our sins. Why is His grave the only vacant tomb of all the other so called founders of other religions? By the way, Christ did not come to establish another religion. He came to establish a relationship between sinful men and the one and only true God. Christ's death was God's judgement against sin so that whosoever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. All past, present, and future sins were forgiven once and for all who place their trust in Christ. I'm not going to hell when I die, not because I don't deserve to be there, but because my faith in His son's death and resurrection paid the ransom for my sins. I have a received a pardon from God that He paid for. Why would I reject that? Why would you? God does not send anyone to hell. They send themselves because they have rejected his gift of salvation. Amos 4:12 says "Prepare to meet God. " Are you ready to face Him, and to give an account of your life? You can be ready by turning to Him for salvation, and not trusting in your works. I suggest you read the Book of John. You may also read the testimony of Napoleon Bonaparte who was saved shortly before his death on the island of Saint Helena. I would also recommend seeing the movie, "Paul, the Apostle of Christ." You may find that these will be helpful in your search for a new life in Christ.
