Just finished up third season of Loudermilk and really enjoyed it.  Ron Livingston is a substance abuse counselor.  Written by Peter Farrelly.  Think of a misanthropic Peter Gibbons running AA meetings with typical Farrelly dialogue.

If you watch first ten minutes and don't laugh go ahead and turn it off, because it's not for you.

almost finished it.  Hate for it to end.  Best show since Ted Lasso but in a dark snarky way

Saw BJ Barham at the Bluebird in Nashvegas last weekend.  Damn what a writer.  Saddest songs ever to play mixed with funny ass stories.  I can't tell you the saddest song but damn, there was a song about his mom with dementia and opioid problem, a song about his wife having a miscarriage, a song about a guy losing his wife to cancer, songs about divorce, a million reference to substance abuse.  It was glorious.

Why was it awesome to me?  Google told me this and I believe it 100%  https://theswaddle.com/why-some-people-love-sad-music-and-others-dont/

I think a lot of them are trying to meet a certain price point.  Their target demographic is value steak consumers.  When the costs go up the just buy cheaper meat so they get in south of $20/plate (I have no idea what it actually costs to eat at Outback these days).  A lot of those people go somewhere else if you bump it up to $30.  The folks dining at Mastro’s  just bitch about the price increase for 30 seconds if they even notice, shrug, and order.

I had not heard of Mastro's...checked it and it looks strong as new rope.

Heading to South Beach for a long weekend next month. Just the wife and myself, staying at SLS.

Any recs for places to eat and drink? Will probably head down to Nikki Beach for a brunch or lunch because we generally like the Nikki Beach scene. What else?

Is the pool party at SLS any good or just a bro-fest? Other pool parties or daytime hangout spots we should consider?

    Paging ChiTownDoc.

Bring your AR to South Beach.  Shit is on fire...Joe's Stone Crabs is wonderful, nice topless scene on the beach and a lot of banana hammocks too.

  6. We did that same trip several years ago as a springbreak trip.  As everyone said, the price you got was high AF.  We booked on our own way back before the interweb was so easy and didn't have a problem.  One thing we did that was really worthwhile was hire a private tour guide for London.  You will have fun, it's not difficult.  Do your homework and you should be fine

Got a friend that said when looking online for a hotel always see how close the nearest church's chicken is.  If it within 5 miles, find a different hotel.  #LIFEHACKS

That seems reasonable to me.  We plan our trips around one suitcase each and a carry-on at that if we can manage it.  We're doing northern Italy (a couple of off the beaten path places) in September.  Because we'll be up by the Alps and Dolomites we may have to pack more clothing than normal.

You'll be able to take high speed trains from Naples to Florence and then rent a car to enjoy Tuscany and another high speed train from Florence to Rome.

Won't we need a car to get from Naples to Amalfi area?  Is driving in Italy a big problem.  I've driven in France without issues.

  9. Suggestions needed.  Headed to Italy in late September.  Arrive on 9/21 and have to be in Rome on 9/29 for an event.  I went to Rome and Florence decades ago.  Went to Milan a couple of years ago.  I plans for 9/30 and 10/1 in Rome and depart on 10/2.  I'd like to see the highlights of Rome again and would like a rec on a private tour guide for 9/28-9/29.  Wife wants to go the Amalfi coast.  I'd like to do Tuscany.  I don't want to fight suitcases and spend too much time traveling.  Florence is bitch to fly into.  Naples has a direct flight from ATL.  Is it dumb to fly to Naples and go to Amalfi coast, then schelp to Tuscany and then back to Rome?

As a comparison, Susanna Hoffs is also 64. Here she is from a tweet last year.
