In one of the videos, a woman quizzed a DPS trooper, and he told her the request had come from UT.

Then, there's this from the Dean of Students:

    Such horseshit.

i actually think the protestors are dumb self absorbed kids, but you know what?  This exactly the time in their life to be dumb self absorbed kids. Let them fucking do it loudly and in the open while being peaceful. Which they were.

Calling fucking gestapo thugs to beat them up is the exactly the type of thing I would expect the president of Texas to know NOT TO DO.  its fucking lose/lose

Maybe they'll wake up and realize climate change is real.

It's not just disasters that are more frequent. It's that they happen in places where they're not happening before.

SoCal gets fires every year. It's actually part of the natural ecosystem; certain plants depend on the fires to spread their seeds. It's still dangerous, but our services are more or less prepared to deal with them.

But when the city had flash floods last month? People died simply because nobody ever thought you shouldn't build homes in the valleys because it never flooded there. And they actually called a Tornado Warning, I shit you not, because they saw winds whirling around on radar at a whopping 35mph. Had no idea what do do with it. Nobody saw a twister, and even if they had, 35 mph isn't even EF0. In Amarillo, that's Tuesday.

Hope they can bring this shit under control.

I get what you are saying, but flooding in southern Cali has happened every 10-25 years historically.  Many have created inland seas.  Atmospheric rivers are particularly common in El Niño years.

Hell, look up the great flood of 1861.  We don’t want a repeat of that

  5. Looking like the off duty Cops shot the poor kid (not that i blame them if she was using the kid as a human shield)

So Grizzyhood is posting some things to Facebook that if true are going to add a lot to the culture war including screen shots of the shooters past aliases.   Grizzy has her sources, so i tend to believe her.

She was MtF and the kid may not have been hers…

Edit:  nvm, i see the mtf was confirmed in the link above.  What a shitshow

This may have been discussed, but just saw this in an article on the Athletic

Let’s say you’re a backup safety at Georgia or a backup receiver at Texas who thought about transferring during the prescribed window but decided you liked your chances at earning playing time. Then you see a new starter parachute in, and you know that, barring injury or something else unforeseen, you’re probably a backup again. Well, your deadline has passed. There is no 30-day window that kicks in for you.

Yes, there is the post-spring transfer window. But if you’re at Georgia, Texas or any SEC school, that would be too late to transfer to another SEC school and be eligible this fall. Not a problem if you’re content going somewhere else. But unfortunate for those who would’ve preferred that

I didn’t realize players transferring from an SEC school in the spring window aren’t eligible immediately if they move in-conference. Makes it even tougher for Alabama to offset these losses, they can’t really look at SEC players once the portal reopens for them
