Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
I'd say the process has been going on for much longer than that. I'd go back to before our own season was over. As for favoring the rising star, we gotta remember that it wasn't CDC who chose Sark. Also, with Beard, I mean, who else was there, really? I'll go Schloss, 'cos he and CDC are legit close, and I imagine they've discussed this job for years.

Wow, have never considered this, as no one has ever brought it up on this thread and others for our consideration.

Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Schloss was said to have shut down rumors he'd leave over week or so ago. I believe this was from Rogers. I brought this exact point about him saying he wasn't leaving TCU for aggy up to whoever told me about it. But the thing is that it doesn't matter whether Schloss has a history of doing this or not, it's that most coaches leaving their current job do this when they're put on the spot about it before they've had time to go through with it. When it comes to my sports teams and coaching jobs/players returning etc..., I put very little into what the coaches/GMs/owners say in front of the press. They cannot give you the true answer.

Shit, CDC just hit up Bellville Meat Market for a brisket sando and some dried sausage, and now he's just waiting on the drive-thru daiquiri place to open. You've still got some time if you're Schloss.

Give the man a chance to celebrate/grieve with his guys, and tell them himself that he's leaving.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Schloss can have his ten years as long as he denounces that "Texas Aggies" bullshit they were doing. What a group of fucking dorky assed losers.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Yah, we've only waiting this long for a reason, and that reason is because our guy was still coaching. He at least gets a day to get back to CS with his guys, gather them up and let 'em know, and then it's deuces and on to Austin.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
I'd prefer him to be known more for the corn.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
"Yah. I've been talking with my buddy Christopher Del Monte about the job for years now, and that discussion has definitely ramped up over the past few weeks. Just to let you know, I've already accepted the job, so I'm not even sure why y'all are asking the coach of the University of Texas Longhorns these questions. Hook 'em!" *walks off stage- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
The ole "that's my/their job" bullshit. Hell, I guess maybe it is, but it's the fucking worst thing about these pressers. It's the post CWS-final presser and you go asking the losing coach about him taking a job at the rival, what kind of answer do you think you're going to get? 90% of the time it's going to be something along the lines of what we get from Schloss here, and these press guys know it. But, "I have to ask. I have to ask the hard questions." It's not a hard question, it's the easiest question to ask because it's the gossip everyone's talking about. Ask a question about baseball that someone hasn't already asked, you fuck. That's your job. You know you're not getting an honest answer about that coach taking another job on that stage. And when the guy actually does bolt for the other job, everyone's gunna go back to this press conference moment and use the BS answer you got from your "hard-hitting question" to call the coach a snake/liar/POS, all because you thought you were "doing my job!" foh- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire

I think Michelle threatened to jump again.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Nice of Nash to be checking in after spending most of the last parts of the season denying Pierce could ever be fired.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
IMO there were rumors circulating already, so I don't see it becoming any bigger of a distraction than it was for the teams themselves. For the people around it, sure.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
CDC's and Pierce's own statements where they're basically saying they met about it at the end of the season. The fact CDC hasn't spoken about it at all in over 3 weeks of rumor craziness, and neither has pierce, also made it pretty obvious. Tea leaves.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Or announced? I don't know 100% why, either, but it looks to be exactly what happened.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Lines up with other things I've heard. Also the statements from Pierce and CDC, that they met at the end of the season. This has been decided for awhile.- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
Balcones also wants you to know that someone said Tulo was going to the LBC- Schlossed and confused: When panic leads to an Earley hire
