  1. Cuba was great! The reason to travel: "support the Cuban people". Flew there on Southwest and stayed for 7 days. Most hotels have wifi but you have to buy a wifi card. We went, or I should say the wife and kids went, 7 days with no wifi. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Stayed in an AirBnB that was in Central Havana. We paid $100 a night for a 3 bedroom apt, with A/C in every bedroom. Our tour guide said we were staying in a true Cuban neighborhood. We did not see other tourist until we walked over to "Old Havana". We felt very safe where we stayed and we walked everywhere. We did see a "Santeria" chicken sacrifice about two doors down from where were staying. I thought they were cooking the chicken for dinner but our guide corrected us on the ritual. I wish I was better with a camera, I can only imagine what pics could be captured walking around the city. Food was better than expected!! Alcohol was cheap. Mojitos were good. I also brought back some rum!! People were very friendly!! Classic Cars everywhere. I called all the tourist locations "car shows". Every time time we stopped at a tourist location there were 15-20 classic cars full of other tourist. Spoiler : most of these cars now have diesel engines. FYI, no US credit or debit cards are accepted in Cuba, its straight cash. Took more than I needed so we didn't run out. Had to convert from US dollars to Cuban CUC. If I can figure out how to post pics, Ill upload my album. Let me know if you have questions.
  2. Just returned from one week in Havana and took a day trip Vinales (tobacco farm). Brought back a box of Cohiba Robustos and 25 non-banded from the tobacco farm. I'll try and post of few pics later. It was a great trip and it did feel like a trip back in time.
  3. We went to Belize in 2005 and I can only imagine how its changed. Spent 4 days around San Ignacio and 4 days in San Pedro. We drove ourselves around on the mainland. I will never forget out drive to the Hidden Valley Inn. We were on this road off the main highway that consisted of rocks, holes, and ruts. My wife is nervous that we are lost, secretly so was I. It turned out that I took the first turn off the highway and should of took the second but both roads ended in the same place. Anyway, as I am driving down this crap road, we pass a truck with Texas plates!! I raise the hook em horns sign out the window as we passed!! We also had to have a military escort to the Rio Frio Cave and the Caracol Ruins because Guatemalans were coming across the border robbing tourist. We have a picture of us driving with a military jeep in front, sitting in the jeep were 4 soldiers with rifles. Good times!!! While on Ambergris Caye we saw a group of kids feed a crocodile for money. Rented a golf cart, bought a whole chicken, drove to the south end of the island, pulled up to a random pond, gave the kids the chicken and watched them go to work. After they were done, we tipped the kids for the show and drove back to town. Yes, kids feeding a crocodile out of a pond!! Crazy!! Not much advice for your trip but we loved Belize!!
