Hopefully they get into the dark side of his work; especially of the problems his actors had.  Oscar ended up living in a dumpster.  Kermit developed a nasty intravenous drug habit.  And David Bowie?  He's dead now.

That one turned into an eating disorder monster.

That was the opinion on our boards.  Marist was good in certain situations but would probably still be available in later rounds.

I felt like his talk show style just got old and tired (at least for me), but this looks like it could be worth watching.

I was a loyal fan. He weirded out around 2005 and then moving to TBS was a kill shot.

Ron Goldman cares, and so does the jury that awarded him a civil judgment against OJ.
The criminal jury found that the prosecution had not met its burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt that OJ caused the deaths.

The civil jury found that a preponderance of the evidence established that he did cause the deaths.

There’s a huge difference in the standards of proof necessary in criminal and civil proceedings. You’ll care if you get in a wreck and the other driver isn't prosecuted or is acquitted by a criminal jury, but you can still recover from him in a civil suit.

Lolawyers.  WE can't put the killer in jail but we can sure sue him for all he is worth.

and then never collect a quarter.

the documentary is fantastic when paired with The People Vs OJ SImpson, the Cuba Gooding Jr Movie. Perfectly spells out and explains everything about the case, both before and after. I fully understand why he was found innocent after watching both of these. He deffo 100% did it, but the entire case was lost the moment Mark Furman could not say he didn't plant evidence to frame OJ Simpson because he had to plead the fifth otherwise he would have been asked if he'd ever planted evidence to frame anybody in his career, of which he likely had. If it's a question of reasonable doubt, they had done a good enough job of showing how systematically corrupt the LAPD was from top to bottom that not hearing outright "We didn't frame him" could constitute reasonable doubt.

I love the part in The People vs OJ Simpson where they go to his house and they've changed all the pictures on the walls, haha.

    He was not found innocent.

Syntax. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Yes the conduct of the government established reasonable doubt against itself.  It seems to be a question of individual philosophy, Should you vote guilty or not guilty if the gov rigged it against the actual criminal?

  6. It irks me that we never beat Simpson; only two games because he started at City College.  OJ cut us up in 67.  68 was a tie despite the Irish pressing the juice to 55 yards rushing.  Ara Parseghian's offenses had two first half leads and two second half goose eggs.

The closest to justice would be the 1969 Rose Bowl, where #1 Ohio State came back, after OJ's 80 yd td, against #2 SC with defensive coach (DC!?) Lou Holtz.  The articles say that Simpson threw an interception.

Most everyone says "football"   few could answer the follow up, what team did OJ play for?

    Spoiler

No respect for San Francisco City College.

So far my favorite answer came from a couple of 20-somethings at my globogym, He was the guy found not guilty of murder because his lawyer was Kim Kardashian's father.

So Ford missed out on the crossover opportunities of the 25th anniversary of all this by waiting a whole other year to bring back the Bronco?

At least O.J. knows how to capitalize on these kinds of opportunities.

I mean, I've seen the renderings/hearing about the new Bronco for 5 or 6 six years now.  You had one job, Detroit!

I thought OJ missed his chance during the 2020 BLM riots to get back in the spotlight as a social justice warrior.  I was mildly surprised because he had always been in the public eye.  You can tell what generation you are by answering the question, Why is OJ famous?

Me watching the Ford Bronco: All this fuss over the guy from the Naked Gun movies?

Still doesn’t put eyes on TV. TV costs money, subsidized by advertising. No dough, no show.

This is a numbers game, and if the numbers say something, that’s what the networks support. Which in turn is what companies are willing to spend some ad rev on. This isn’t rocket science.

Now that may not make it right, and sure there are people who don’t/won’t like it. However, that doesn’t make it so.

Again, sportswriters and common fans like to romanticize underdog upsets but the cold hard fact are that no one watches those games outside the final minute or two.

Oakland like St Peters and Fairleigh Dickinson, Abilene Christian, or insert random school here…are fun to talk about after the fact but the next game they play also has horrible viewership too because those casual fans despite talking about the tournament and the bracket socially…don’t watch.

They see the final shot/miss on sportscenter or YouTube/tictok or twitter/fb but none of that brings in any money to the NCAA or P4+BigEast. The data doesn’t lie.

It's about the health and size of the sport.  That will supply the ratings for the games.  The super league types want to remove a few pounds of flesh from the entire sport.

  12. 2 hours ago, TKthunder2 said:

Take a look at the ratings because they agree with him. Nobody watches the small school until the final two minutes. While that fun for fans and sport writers to romanticize these games have lower rating than your standard 8/9 matchup which means advertisers don’t pay for them. What is memorable and what makes money aren’t always the same thing.

I don’t think they need to fully split from all of DI, but I think you could drop 10 historically one bid leagues and the tournament would be far more interesting and profitable.

We have divisions for a reason. DII schools can upset DI schools, it doesn’t mean we should include them in the tournament. Shrinking the number of DI leagues is likely healthy for the NCAA.

It draws clicks to tournament and local news coverage even far from those 'power teams.'   Only hard bball fans would care that UK was upset but when it was done by the other Oakland, it was on the local news all over the country.

  13. Classic movie with John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin has all classic scenes.  AND, great supporting characters.

(can't find the full scene where Wayne bursts in on school)

forgotten newspaper man actor stole every scene.

Sadly, victims of molestation as children have a very high incidence of "paying it forward," so to speak, as adults.

I don't know the percentages, and it is absolutely not a guarantee that a victim will become a future predator, but it does happen at a much higher rate amongst the abused than it does amongst the rest of the population.

Your reading comprehension is fucking abysmal. None of those assert the notion that " it does happen at a much higher rate amongst the abused than it does amongst the rest of the population." 35% being victims means *65%* were not. There is not a higher rate of people who are child molesters being victims than those who are not, the data says the exact fucking opposite, you mongoloid dipshit.

Not what BZ said.  Put down the joint and practice your reading comprehension.

Baltimore is 404 miles.  It is an Eastern port city by anyone's definition.  And that's not a straight line, that's crossing the mountains.

I will always have a hard time calling a place that's closer to Baltimore than the MIssissippi River part of the Midwest, even if everyone else does.

"Soda" becomes 'pop' in western PA.  If you think 'the water' refers to the Great Lakes then you are in the midwest.

I think it's strange the the NFL has a lot of fans in the Northeast, but none of them seem to care about college football. You'd think at least one of them could draw support, but it seem to me that UConn tried and then gave up when the Big East fell apart and they were left out of the ACC. Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers, none of them seem to do anything outside a year or two of success here and there. I mean, Rutgers was literally one of the first schools to play football. It's just strange to me that they are so bad most years.

The traditional northeast powers (Harvard, Yale, Princeton) all abdicated while the left behinds were never good.  If for some reason the old Big12 schools all dropped big time football, the southwest would not sell out the stadia of Tulsa, North Texas, and Rice, but just go NFL.  It is a big draw in the community when the grandparents remember the great teams.

  18. I find it hard to insert a clip from cop shows.  OF course the big arrest drama depends on you already knowing the crime and the chase etc.  This one works in two short clips because we know the argument.
