If you’re spotted an 8 game lead in mid-June within a terribly inferior division, when is there ever going to be a better time/opportunity to see what Yordan is capable of doing at 1B?
The contract ink is dry…it’s time to capitalize while there’s still time ample time to prepare for a playoff run.
Yuli is still a helluva asset for late inning defense and pinch hitting in RBI situations where a fly ball is needed…but something has to give before he (and Bregman) torpedo yet another postseason. This makes sense to me at least. Why not try it for a few games to see how it is. It's June, not October and the division is weak. It's time to experiment

We signed the stupid 99 year GOR that was enacted after those 4 left. We also were each getting a larger share of the same TV money. The Big 12 knows that's going away when Texas and OU are out so they have little incentive to not get their pound of flesh before we leave. It's a league now run by Baylor and Tech. You think they're going to Texas any favors?
I have a question. Adding 4 teams greatly reduces each school's cut, right? Isn't there some type of possible negotiation to leave early based on that?

I may be missing the sarcasm here. He went to Ohio state for the money.I'm pretty sure he's saying his heart didn't go anywhere. The state of Texas, I'm fairly sure, had laws at the time against college kids making money and he took the free bag at OSU until he was ready to come home to his dream school. He never ever intended to stay at Ohio State and seems to admit that here. It was only for the money. He had chosen Texas since he can remember but also needed to do what was financially beneficial to him in the meantime. Can't fault him for that. I also think his decommitment probably had a hand in getting rid of Herman so give him credit there too.

#15 is a high pick for a guard.
He can also play OT. If Tunsil goes down or we move on from Howard, he can fill in. Plus 2 time All-American is fairly impressive, especially going against SEC defenses.

I will say a lot of you guys think you are smarter than you actually are. When Mario Williams was drafted over Bush and Vince (even though we traded a haul for Schaub before the draft), everyone was having a fit. He went on the have more Pro Bowls than both Bush and Vince combined (Fuck Jeff Fisher). I remember people freaking out because we picked JJ Watt over Nick Fairley. I will say, overall, the Texans have a pretty good success in the first round since becoming a franchise (albeit recently we have traded 3 of our last 4 firsts). There's a reason the team is making these choices.

Are we surprised that the same drunk in this video is trying to play the victim to get traded? The statue should be the cop tackling this idiot. There is a reason no team has reached out. He's a negative commodity. He will do more harm than good. The Browns now have a domestic abuser (Kareem Hunt) and sexual assaulter (Watson) on their team. Yet Baker is the person that still can't come out as the good guy. It says a lot to me.

I wish all weddings were like this. Then I'd always have an excuse not to attend.
I am getting married next year and this is our policy. Shit on him for all the other things, but this one seems okay to me. No one wants a baby crying during the ceremony or dealing with someone else's kids during the reception running around. Venues we looked at charged extra to have children as they had to make sure alcohol was being provided to of-age guests so they have to card guests (no joke). Not a problem if all guests were 21+. I am also not going to pay over $30 for a child to eat an adult meal (not all caterers give children meals). We are using this as an excuse to not invite people with kids. So if this applies to you, we didn't want you there anyway. We are sending an invitation as a courteous gesture. As you said, please deny. We don't want you to attend anyway. It saves us money and was only done to make you feel wanted and for you to feel guilty and buy a wedding gift. It's shitty but it is what it is. Regardless, who wants to go to a gigantic party with children there, anyway? That's what a wedding is

No team is dumb enough to trade for Watson. The local PR backlash would be enormous in whatever market traded for him. The dude used his power and clout to pray on young women. Maybe he recovers 10 years ago but the organization protesting that trade would be fierce as it should be. No one wants a business in their community to bring in a serial predator into the market.
You got a rebuttal brah? We told you it would happen lol

If he sits, he does not get paid.
I think, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but he isn't sitting, we are benching him. Meaning the Texans are choosing not to play him but he has to be paid. It's like benching any other player. He still gets paid for being benched. It he holds out, he will not be paid.

I presume that this trade may take some time to go through because they will have to find a team for Matt Ryan, correct?

I don’t think a 37 year old, mediocre quarterback on a big deal is in the Texans’ rebuilding plan.
Probably would have to be a 3 team deal then

Been surprised how bullish the general NFL media crowd is on the return we will get. I really don’t see anyone saying we will get less than 3 1’s and some 2s or solid rookie contract guys. I mean, like 3 1’s and two starters on rookie deals is what I read as worst case… we’ll see.
I want to be the guy who supports my team but I see 2 firsts at most. im so jaded that I cant see us winning a trade. When was the last time we "won" a trade? Like fuck, i cant believe my team will ever do anything good.

You say this but plenty of trash people are still in the league. Kareem Hunt punched and kicked a woman on camera, was cut, but is still actively playing in the league. Tyreek Hill punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and is still playing. While not quite the same thing, Robert Kraft was caught using a massage parlor where sex trafficking occurred.

That uglyass “art museum” (I don’t care if it was designed by a renowned architect - it’s fugly) ruined a beautiful grove of trees where we used to tailgate.... with a view straight down to the Capitol
I went to the weekend premiere of that as I was a student at the time. I didn't understand the appeal. Just tailgate inside of it. Fuck it. I had a badge to RLM when I was a student and me and my friends would regularly tailgate on the roof

He was an admitted steroid user so one has to speculate at this point if that was a factor.
I'm sorry but as others have pointed out, this is a stupid take. Almost every professional athlete the last 60 years has taken some kind of performance enhancing drug. It's weird singling out this person when Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to using and probably abusing steroids and is alive and healthy at 74. There are plenty of people who have lived healthy lives after steroid use. To blame it on that without any information is stupid.

makes sense. No one in my league scored over 115 this week in a full PPR league
