The basic idea is, if we fire him "without cause," then the University has breached the contract and he's owed the balance of payments due under the contract, subject to his duty to go find another job to mitigate the damages (see Bielema, Bret), or as specified by the "buyout clause,"   If the money is "guaranteed," that means he has no obligation to mitigate.

Every contract of this nature is going to have a "morality" or "moral turpitude" clause that forbids him from engaging in conduct that could reflect adversely on the University.

If he is found to be doing something skanky that could reflect adversely on the University, that would mean he breached contract and is owed nothing and may even owe the University the costs of hiring a replacement.

Whether the skanky activity actually triggers the morality clause is going to be a question for the court or a jury.  That means it is highly likely to become public and reflect adversely on Herman, possibly a career-killer.

So, Herman could fight like hell, maybe with a chance of winning, but at substantial risk of both losing and getting jackshit, and of being exposed as some kind of perv or drunk or whatever.  And thus giving him incentive to settle for less than he might be owed.

So, the discovery of skanky material could be a very nice negotiating point for the University to knock down the buyout by several million.  In an extreme case, it could eliminate the buyout entirely.

And that, my friends, will be $995.

Highland Park OL Jack Leyrer recaps Texas visit, timeline

Jack Leyrer took a trip to Austin over the weekend.

The three-star offensive tackle from Highland Park (Texas) wanted to make a self-guided visit to Texas, and the trip went well. Leyrer got to take in the entire campus, and he liked what he saw.

“It went very well,” he said. “The highlight of the trip was getting to see the campus. I’ve been to games before, but I’ve never actually walked around the campus at UT.”

Leyrer got to spend time with former high school teammates Paxton Anderson and Prince Dorbah while on campus. Leyrer said the two gave him a good look at what life inside the Texas program is like.

“That was the other highlight,” Leyrer said. “They have really enjoyed their time there thus far. They really emphasized the genuine care and family aspect of the program. On the field, the coaches are going to coach you hard. Off the field, they care about you as a person and as a student.”

Self-guided tours are a bit of a mixed bag. It can depend on the person taking the visit on how it pans out. Leyrer said the trip definitely helped Texas.

“I think it did,” he said. “There’s a lot of positives in my book that Texas has. It’s close to home and that’s definitely a huge benefit. I really like the opportunity that the business school brings.”

Now that Leyrer saw Texas up close, he’s ready to start making a decision. He tells Horns247 that the commitment could come sometime in the next few weeks.

“I think it could be as soon as this weekend,” he said. “It could be as late as before our first game on the 25th.”

At 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, Leyrer is ranked as the No. 77 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 123 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports Composite.

The world wide internets are saying bandit emoji and then the ssh I have seen.

Let's just say you should point your glizzie at your nizzy post it on social mizzy and find some thots to celebrate. Does that help?

We may or may not have a football player commit soon. Lots of twists and turns. Will keep both ears on the ground, but I wouldn't expect this to happen soon unless it does.

  4. ESPN article discussing CFB in 2020.  Herman talking about virtual coaching up of the players. The article discusses the possibility of a short postponement with a modified/reduced fall schedule (question mark on fans);  postponement to Spring 2021; or cancellation, which would kill a lot of athletic departments.

This is not true according to several accounts from both Baylor players and potential recruits. He was honest with them that he would take an NFL job throughout the whole process.

There was an article December 31st where he said he would be returning to Baylor.  Of course a week later he was announced by the Panthers.  Obviously I have no knowledge of what he was telling his recruits but it seems plausible the message would be consistent with what he was telling the media.

I'm puzzled that Aranda would let him out of his NLI. Does Aranda:

1.) Suck at recruiting/keeping his players?

2.) Knows something about Barron that Ash doesn't?

3.) See something about Barron he doesn't like?

Alternatively, does Barron not know about Aranda's accomplishments as a defensive coach?

Assume it's tied to Rhule pushing for early signatures and telling everyone he had no plans to leave.  But of course as your name confirms, I don't know shit.

New York, Washington and California going out of control. If we can keep the major out breaks there the rest of the country could emerge that much sooner. We need a domestic ban for travel from anyone in these areas. Keep it contained to the overpopulated areas.

127/263 deaths in these 4 states (include NJ)

Only a matter of time until it’s the same in all urban areas. From, California.
