Everything about the round robin method sucks.

ND Joe is a moron but I think he's saying the '88 Irish beat both teams who participated in the Rose Bowl game during the regular season -- Michigan and USC.

the 1988 Notre Dame-USC game wasn't played in or at the Rose Bowl, it was played at the Coliseum

I finally finished watching The Last Dance last night and it cracked me up to see the Bulls shooting 40-footers for money, like it was some amazing feat, given the evolution of perimeter shooting since.

if you were to name the 25-30 greatest perimeter players of all time, the very top of the list would feature players like Michael, Magic, Larry, Oscar, West, and LeBron.
Like I said in the pickup-game-in-heaven thread, I'm not a Steph Curry fan, but doesn't he belong on that list at this point?

Harden being a choke artist/notorious partier and Embiid always being injured drops both guys down the list.
I'd take Harden in an expansion draft, that's about it.

A couple of minutes later, Curlee said, the captain asked that "all able-bodied men please come to the front of the plane for an emergency."
Curlee said he and a passenger next to him bolted from their seats to help but did not get very far.
"We got nowhere near because basically every man on the plane stepped up and was in the aisle," Curlee said.sounds kind of presumptuous

I forget, is this a year baseball matters or nah?
no, silly, only the future in which A&M will dominate the SEC and win multiple national championships matters
because now the culture has changed and their administration is taking the sport really seriously
unlike all the years in the past-- during which, if you had asked any Aggie, said retard would have insisted his program was already in better shape than ours, but now can safely be said to be inferior but ONLY in light of the New Culture and Serious-Taking they're doing
they're 100% predictable.

it would have been presumptuous to call me a student at almost any point as an undergrad

If we're going to damn by comparison, then I think there's a subset of Ohio State fans that are VERY similar to Aggies. It's not enough to have something intrinsically good or that they like, they want everyone's validation too. So it's not "we have a great stadium", it's "WE HAVE TEH BEST STADIUM". It's not "we have a great band" it's "OUR BAND IS TEH BEST!!!!"
Etc etc. These are the same Ohio State fans who bitched and moaned about "TRAITORS!" in the 70s, 80s, and 90s when a lot of the best Ohio kids played for Michigan but now proudly talk up how Ohio State "owns" the state of Texas. That kind of total inconsistency is, again, very Aggie-like.
There's a lot to dislike there.

I’ve mentioned it before but the posters in this community are a lot more similar to Michigan State fans.
You are such a bitch. You are the only person on Earth who thinks that's a valid comparison. Michigan State fans are nothing like Texas fans. Nice try at passive shade, though.

Right. Just like Kevin Sumlin, Dennis Franchione, Billy Gillespie, and whoever has coached baseball there. And Tony Barone, Melvin Watkins, etc.
The roller coaster is always climbing...until it isn’t.
there is that Olin Buchanan article (I think he was the chode who wrote it) circa 2014 about how A&M was poised for one of the greatest athletic years of all time because of their big 3 sports.
when you have Kevin Sumlin, Billy Kennedy, and Rob Childress all coaching at the same time, the championships are sure to follow.
actually scratch the names, whoever the fuck is coaching at A&M at any point in time, the championships are sure to follow

we need to change the minimum requirements for being a cop. minimum 4 year degree and a year's worth of intensive training on crisis mitigation and de-escalation.
the recruiting population for cops are stupid high school or GED graduates and ex military. most dudes who joined the military were too stupid to go to college.
your opinion of "college" is about 25 years outdated

I’ve been following Texas football for about 40 years and they have been making some version of this claim for that entire period. Except for the change of names every few years, it is literally verbatim.
And they keep believing it.
there is always some variation on the basic theme of "everything we have is better, but y'all are huge underachievers while we're a sleeping giant".

In addition to looking like something that would gladly service a bull, Ryan Day is from New Hampshire
John Cooper was from Tennessee. Earle Bruce was from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Etc etc. If Ohio State relied on Ohio talent to do everything, it would be about as accomplished as Maryland.

right, I'm very much not in favor of the conference title game PLUS round robin
