you want at least 4 slices of thick cut bacon.  the stuff in the meat case is usually pretty decent.  i don't get flavored bacon b/c it seems like there's a lot of sugar in the solution which makes a mess when you cook it in cast iron.

i go with a sandwich bread but not typical bag bread - if you can get it from a bakery rather than the grocery store bakery that's even better.  i like whole leaf butter/bibb/boston lettuce on mine but what type of lettuce is up to you.  high quality mayo is a must, i'll second duke's.

the main impediment right now is that tomatoes are out of season.  you do not want the shitty roma tomatoes that are in stores right now (you don't want roma tomatoes for a blt pretty much ever, actually, but definitely not right now).  if you have a farmer's market maybe you'll find someone selling hothouse tomatoes.  as jameslaw said, you want the tomato to be ripe.

cook the bacon using your method of choice to desired doneness.  i crack a lot of pepper on mine.  slice/season your tomatoes as soon as the bacon goes on the heat so that the salt has plenty of time to work its way in.  toast your bread, mayo on both sides.  order of assembly is:

    toast
    lettuce
    tomato
    bacon
    tomato
    toast

Okay. This will sound strange. The tomato makes the sandwich.

You want good bread from the deli (I got sourdough from a bakery in Denton). Duke's Mayo - Don't skimp on this. Fresh crunchy romaine  and about 4-6 slices of thick cut bacon, also from the deli. Baking the bacon at 425 for about 15 minutes gets you nice flat slice. Toast the bread with some of the bacon grease on it.

But the Tomato - Try and get a heirloom tomato that feels like it's about to go bad. As in a kid should be able to easily squeeze it into tomato sauce. Put a little kosher salt on top of the sliced tomato about 5 minutes beforehand. Then a little pepper.

I also sometimes add some sort of Hot Sauce too

Fucking awesome. Appreciate your help. I'll get right on it. Prob gonna have a hard time finding decent tomatoes here in South TX, though.

In my 39 years of living on this Earth, I have never had a BLT. I may have to do the deed. I always figured why not throw some turkey in that bitch but all these blts got me thinking. Yours looks nice as far as i can tell, but like I said I've never had one. As long as you enjoyed it compadre that's all that matters.

I'd imagine Ash could get a job making his current salary for another school next year, yes.  And maybe Yurcich could take a promotion to be Head Coach at UTSA backfilling Traylor after he comes here since that is such a great, high demand, career launching pad of a job to have.  I mean hell, 1 year there of going 7-4 gets you a top 5 in the country Head Coaching Job.  Man, how fortunate could Yurcich be?

Yes, generally speaking when you have to report to someone that is brought from outside your company (team) whom you think is inferior and has less experience and you believe hasn't worked as long/hard as you have, that usually tends to cause a little bit of friction.  But hey, you guys are smart and I'm dumb.  You're right, and I'm wrong.  You're good looking, and I'm hideous.  Your farts smell like roses, and my farts smell like Tom Herman's do after a drunken night out on the town.

I'm quite sure if Traylor gets this job, he can get whichever coordinators he desires because he knows everyone in the industry because they all came through a small 3A town  6+ years ago and listened to stories about how he named his plays after tv shows.  Besides, he has such a wealth of head coaching experience, think of all the  knowledge one could acquire just being around him.  Once Traylor's staff is in place, or wait....I forgot.  He doesn't even have to bring in any people because hey, let's keep our entire staff except for Herman.  Yeah.  That'd be great.  Surely everyone will work together in perfect harmony and we'll be celebrating the national championship in 2-3 short years.  Yeah, no execution risk there at all.

I hope you're wrong, but I may agree.  Firign someone that could be 8-3, with 3 essentially last second losses?

Yes but we could easily be 3-8 also. That's the problem. We should've curb stomped the big 12 this year and didn't. We're lucky to only have 3 losses. We out-talented every team but stupid coaching decisions have is where we are.

grew up near Fort Worth. El Fenix had $2.99 enchilada dinner on Wednesdays. God Damn I miss that. I'll fight you if you got a problem with that. the Taxco plate was spectacular.

Taqueria Arandina on Riverside. Delicious Mexican food that was cheap af back then. Breakfast plate for $1.99 that came with bacon and egg, papas, and refried beans. Then for lunch/dinner the burrito California de fajita was like $3.99 and filling. That plane was great. Shit, i have the phone number memorized. It was close to Fast Freddy's barbershop

The taqueria by campus had pretty tasty tacos.

Damn that takes me back. The food cart by RLM that had fajita tacos and fried rice? A beef fajita taco, a chicken fajita taco that would get dumped into the fried rice was a great fucking meal. I think those guys in the cart might've gotten busted for selling stolen goods or something? Their fajita had a distinct flavor that i haven't found since.

Yeah. Cleve Bryant, anyone? He’s a big stain on Mack’s tenure that gets overlooked or outright forgotten. Mack allowed a serial sexual harassing crony to terrorize female employees inside the AD for years. It was worse than the Zach Smith situation. OFN was in a higher position of power and committed harassment, sexual assault, and God knows what else inside the workplace.  And did it all so blatantly out in the open with impunity that his female subordinates had a nickname for him. Imagine if that would have happened at our school two years ago instead of ten. Would have been a category 5 disaster that resulted in multiple firings.

    Mack was no saint.

    Holy shit. You weren't joking.
