Well, the hipster UT prof that authored that CNN editorial sure knows where his bread is buttered. Just another middle-of-the-road professor.
Citing W as some kind of intellectual role model is laughable, not to mention lauding Civitas (et al). His editorial seems reasonable and well-intentioned, until you read deeper and realize it is grounded in philosophical appeasement.
The "Mack Brown Distinguished Chair” out front was the warning…
Scares ya to death!
Ha, I need to tell him that someone think he's a hipster UT prof. I can understand for someone like you, he's way too middle of the road. With that said, I'm also biased cause I'm in one of his classes in grad school.

Great post, and wasn't meant to singularly call out Palestine (although that is the big issue of the day). My frustration with the younger generation lies in that many of them seem to have ONE issue that they center their entire personality around (be it Gaza, tiktok ban, student loans, etc) and they will willingly ignore EVERYTHING else and gleefully punish those in power if they don't get exactly what they want on that one issue. Behavior with potentially horrendous ramifications if widespread enough.
Yep and part of Biden and team's job as politicians is they have to pivot/adapt and continue to communicate to all electorates. But hopefully smart/competent people on his staff is thinking about the youth vote right now.

Why is it our country's ills are always the liberals fault?

Unionization is completely foreign to them.
I think unions are having a moment in this country again. And with Starbucks, Apple Stores, food service and other retail business etc increasing in unionization efforts, I wonder if that's true though. These are the type of places typically staffed with in-college or recent grads.

NO NO! Austin sucks. The people in the suburbs in Dallas and Houston need to remember that Austin sucks. There's nothing here.
They need to tour Houston to see which refinery has the least polluting smoke coming out of the top and around Dallas suburbs to see which strip mall has the most parking.
Haha, I applaud your consistent reflex to shit on Dallas and Houston consistently in these threads.

On one hand, fuck him. While it's not likely, I do hope he's able to reflect on his mistakes and start a path of not being an asshole. But again, it's unlikely, so I'll just wish for minimal damage from him and his family moving forward.
