They've released over 50 Warhammer video games since 1992.

How do Warhammer fans not get burned out?  I guess they pick specific parts of the Warhammer universe and only focus on those, so they aren't trying to get through a dozen new games.

As somebody who has probably played most of them, that's a great question. I'm not really sure. The vast majority of the Warhammer games do tread on a lot of the same ground, generally being something to do with Space Marines, and the majority of them are tactics or turn-based games. The ones that went on to really sell like gangbusters are the ones who deviate from that a little. For instance, Space Marine I and II, and Boltgun are all shooters and Total War Warhammer I, II, and III are Warhammer Fantasy, not 40K. I guess what keeps people coming back is the fact that they churn out so many books each year that it also keeps the fan base engaged, and the setting allows for fairly infinite storytelling. This in spite of the fact that generally only one major event happens that ever moves the whole universe's plot forward, maybe every 4-5 years or so in real life. Maybe the answer just boils down to the same reason why people don't get burned out on all the Marvel/DC stuff. It's just cool.

Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (MoD) news agency ArmyInform reported on June 5 that an unnamed NATO official stated that Russian forces are sustaining an average casualty rate of 1,140 personnel per day, of whom nearly 975 are killed in action (KIA) – a much higher number of killed than the standard one-to-three KIA-to-wounded-in-action (WIA) ratio. 2/7

Skulls 2025 starts this Thursday.  40K video games, big sales on all platforms, reveals, etc.  I believe Owlcat is going to announce a new 40K CRPG, not a sequel to Rogue Trader but something different.

I guess I just don't see why this game tanked so bad. I've been having a grand old time. There's a ton of content as it appears I'm only about halfway through after playing for ~20 hours.

I'll try to walk carefully here, but essentially, there are some larger "culture wars" at play in the gaming world right now that have dictated the success or failure of certain games and gaming studios.

I'm curious what the terms are.

I could see the current administration barely fulfilling (if at all) their side of the agreement and then placing the blame elsewhere and burning it all down.

    https://www.nytimes.com/article/ukraine-mineral-deal-us-trump.html

    What’s in the deal?
The mineral deal will create a U.S.-controlled investment fund that would receive revenue from Ukraine’s natural resources, according to a copy of the agreement made public on Thursday.

It appears that Ukraine managed to get some of what it wanted, but not everything.

The Trump administration had said in March that it wanted Ukraine to repay assistance given during the war with its mineral wealth — which would have financially hurt Ukraine for generations. The idea of treating that aid as debt was removed in the final deal. And the deal appears to specifically keep the door open for Ukraine to eventually join the European Union.

There was no mention of a U.S. security guarantee in the text of the nine-page deal that Ukraine’s government published on Thursday.

Kyiv and Washington will jointly manage the fund, which will be financed with revenues from new projects in critical minerals, oil and gas — not from projects that are already operating.

Although the agreement does not treat past aid to Ukraine as debt that the country needs to repay, it does say that future military aid, including weapons and training, will be treated as a U.S. contribution to the fund — meaning that Ukraine will need to match future aid with resource wealth.

The agreement does not change the management of Ukraine’s state-owned energy companies. All natural resources will still be considered Ukraine’s property.

In addition, the agreement says that the United States and Ukraine want to ensure that countries “that have acted adversely to Ukraine in the conflict do not benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine” once peace is reached — in other words, Russia.

Ukraine’s parliament still has to ratify the agreement, which will probably happen in the next two weeks, lawmakers said on Thursday.

The Russians sent a captured American M113 APC, taken from the Ukrainian army, 9,000 kilometers to Komsomolsk-on-Amur to display it at an exhibition and showcase their fake "greatness."
🤯While a four-year-old boy was examining the vehicle, the rear hatch of the APC fell off and killed the child. His body was simply covered with a plastic lid.
    The quintessence of modern Russia.

️In Krasnodar (Russia), a military mutiny has broken out. Reports say that around 100 soldiers who had previously refused to fight broke through the fence of their military base and are attempting to escape.

Police and National Guard units have cordoned off the area around the base.

Seven soldiers managed to escape. However, four of them have already been caught, and the remaining three are being hunted by Russian special services.
